The most graphic games. Best MMORPG with good graphics. Anthem is a new song for your iron

Every game developer is trying to improve their product. One of the improvements is to improve the quality of the graphics. Starting in 2014, it became possible to significantly improve the realism of graphics, and already in 2017, you can make a whole list of such products. It is very difficult to single out one game, but there are several projects that can confidently be called leaders in the rating.

Forza Horizon 3

The car simulator was introduced in September 2016. He became the ninth part of the series. Many critics immediately noted the fact that at the time of the release of the product, Forza had the most realistic graphics in the game. This was facilitated by the ForzaTech engine, thanks to which the developer company was able to achieve a very high picture quality.

A distinctive feature of the simulator was the cross-world between platforms. The thing is that the game is available for personal computers running the Windows operating system and for the Xbox game console. The hardware allows gamers who play on personal computers and consoles to compete with each other.

Global critics gave high marks to both versions of Forza Horizon 3. The most authoritative publications, which are GameRankings and Metacritic, said that at the end of 2016 Forza is the game with the most realistic graphics. The car simulator received an average score of 87% and 86 out of 100 from GameRankings and Metacritic, respectively.

Battlefield 1

It was released in the spring of 2016 and for 6 months ranked first in the most realistic graphics. Well-known critics immediately spoke about Battlefield 1 and highly appreciated the shooter.

Like previous versions of the series, this part was created on the basis of the Frostbite engine, which was first used by the development company several years ago. It allows you to achieve a high level of destructibility and high quality graphics. Battlefield 1 took first place in the category "Graphics of the Year" according to the popular web resource "Igromania".

Since the trailer was released, both critics and gamers have erupted in positive reviews. The first video, which showed the gameplay of the game, was released almost at the same time as Call of Duty. However, the DICE product scored five times more positive ratings than the legendary Call of Duty. After that, many experts dubbed Battlefield the "CoD killer".

The product with the most realistic graphics in a game in Russia faced serious criticism. At the introduction of the shooter, it was announced that the game will be attended by the UK, Germany, Italy, the United States of America, Austria-Hungary, as well as the Ottoman Empire. The reason for the indignation of domestic gamers and critics was the absence of the Russian Empire. In this regard, the Russian community sent a petition to DICE with a request to add the Russian Empire to the list of playable nations. The response from the developers was not long in coming. The company said that both France and the Russian Empire will appear in upcoming additions to the game.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon

The tactical shooter was released in early spring 2017 and immediately became the game with the most realistic graphics on the PC. The announcement took place two years before the official release at the E3 computer games exhibition.

A distinctive feature of the shooter was the open world. Prior to this, no product in the series could boast of such an element. The gamer starts the game as one of the members of a fictional group of fighters from the United States of America. The grouping was formed with the aim of solving certain operations based on the US Army.

After the release of the game, the government of Bolivia issued a statement condemning the developers for the fact that their state was presented in the shooter as a country where violence and drug trafficking thrive. Later, the developers issued a response statement saying that Bolivia was chosen because of its beautiful scenery.

Shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon was nominated for Best Game of 2015. But despite the fact that Ghost Recon has some of the most realistic graphics in games, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon was only able to win the Best Shooter nomination.

gta 5

The cult GTA franchise has not pleased its loyal fans for a long time. The fifth part of the series was announced in 2011. Owners of personal computers had to suffer for a very long time, who got the opportunity to enjoy the game only in April 2015. As of 2013, when GTA 5 was released to game consoles, it was called the game with the most realistic graphics in the world.

A distinctive feature of the 3D shooter was the presence of three heroes at once. This was not the case in any of previous versions famous game. The gamer has the ability to switch between characters at almost any time. There are also missions during which the player can control two players at once.

The game consists of 62 main missions and a large number of side quests. However, the number of main missions is increased by 7, since there are chapters that can be completed in several ways. In addition, GTA 5 has three different endings.

The game received the highest ratings both in Russian-language publications and in foreign ones. For example, Igromania, the most popular Russian web resource dedicated to video games, rated the 3D shooter 10 out of 10, as well as the well-known foreign publication IGN.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

But the leadership of GTA 5 did not last long. In mid-May 2015, the third part of the famous Witcher series was released. Immediately after the release, it became clear that in the "Wild Hunt" you can see the most realistic graphics in a PC game. In early autumn 2016, version 1.3 was released. Real time strategy is available for all popular platforms.

The lead artist stated that CD Projekt RED used a different method during the creation of character models, different from those used in the development of the first game of the famous series. During the work on the Wild Hunt, first the models of the characters of the game were created, on the basis of which the low-level models were formed. They are the ones used in the game. For the image of hair, fabric, shadows and wool, tools from Nvidia were used.

Star Wars: Battlefront

The Star Wars franchise is not only represented by a large number of films. It extends to video games as well. In 2015, a first-person shooter titled Star Wars: Battlefront. The game was the third in the series. The shooter was created within two years. Development began in 2006. But in 2008, work on it was frozen until 2013.

Battlefront gameplay consists of battles. The gamer can choose which side to take. He has the option to fight for the rebels in a campaign based on the original trilogy, or play as the army of the Galactic Empire. Star Wars fans have a great opportunity to take part in the most famous battles in the galaxy. One of the advantages of the game is the fact that the gamer is able to control military equipment.

Despite the popularity of the franchise and excellent graphics, the game did not receive high ratings from foreign publications. In Russia, popular game resources gave the shooter an 8 out of 10 rating. Only Playground gave " Star Wars"5 out of 10.

Fra Cry 5

Another game with great graphics. Its announcement took place in mid-May 2017. The expected release date for the first-person shooter is the end of winter 2018. The development of Ubisoft will bring the graphics in computer games to a new level.

The gamer will control the deputy sheriff. He has to go to the fictional Hope County in order to arrest Sid, who decided to establish control over the entire county. A distinctive feature of the fifth part of the game is the presence of an editor in which you can change appearance Main character. You can change not only things, but also the color of the skin, as well as the gender of the character.

The game will feature a large number of gadgets and a wide arsenal of weapons. It includes shotguns, pistols, bows, explosives, and even baseball bats. Also, wild animals tamed by him can help the main character in battle. The campaign of the game can be completed both in single player mode and in multiplayer.

Need for Speed: Payback

In early June, the new NFS was introduced. The official release is scheduled for the end of autumn this year. Critics are already saying that the most realistic graphics in the game will be in the new Need for Speed.

The car simulator will be available on all engines - Frostbite 3. Multiplayer and mode are available in Payback single player. Vehicles will be divided into five categories: drift, race cars, SUVs, runners and drag. For racing, one or another class of car is required. The town of Fortune Valley can be driven by police cars that enter into the pursuit of racers and do not hesitate to break any traffic rules to stop violators.

The protagonists of the game are Tyler Mac and Jesse - three racing drivers who team up in order to challenge the Dom cartel. The cartel has taken control of the city's criminals, corrupt cops and casinos. Three riders will try to make a difference in Fortune Valley.

Outcome

It is difficult to answer which game with the most realistic graphics is currently able to top the rating of the best projects. In recent years, every product has a high image quality. In some cases, it is difficult to distinguish the picture in the game from the movie.

At the moment, the game with the most realistic graphics is Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, released in 2017. However, with a high probability, the car simulator will be moved from the first line of the conditional pedestal in the same year, when the release of the game NFS: Payback takes place. But the legendary car simulator will not last long at the top. Assassin's Creed: Empire is expected to be released in 2017 and will be the best game in the world in terms of "Graphics".

Toys are a noble cause. They relieve stress, distract from reality, give a lot of impressions. Here is our top - what we have personally tested and recommend: you will not regret your time, effort, or dead joysticks.

Ordinary people tell stories about how they go to work, sit with friends in a cafe and sleep during breaks. To live brighter and have more cool stories in your arsenal about how you rescued princesses from the clutches of dragons, saved the world from the Forces of Evil and stole cars of civilians at your leisure, do the right thing - play games.

An important point: this is not a top recognized best games, these are toys recent years, in which we, the employees of 2x2, buried more than one night and which we would recommend to anyone and everyone. Believe us, we will not advise bad.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Platforms: PC, PS4, XBOX ONE

Geralt, a specialist in the destruction of monsters, travels through the fantasy world in search of the girl Ciri, who can stop the coming of the Wild Hunt (just accept it as a fact that this is bad and scary). He walks through the fields and forests, kills griffons, sleeps with beauties and jokes during breaks. And the reaper, and the player on the pipe.

Any part of The Witcher is indecently good, and with each next toy in the series, everything just gets better. This is even unfair to competitors, who a priori should be very ashamed of what they are compared to The Witcher. " wild Hunt" - this is super-detailed quests, many of which hide an unrealistic cool story. All completed quests and decisions affect the final game, which is cool and motivating. The combat system here has received a lot of advantages since the second part, Signs have acquired in utility, the world is detailed and open as much as possible.

Even those who just love cool novels will like it. And adored, how much epic coubs spawned by localization!

Journey

Platforms: PS3, PS4

You are a mysterious someone, your goal is to get to a very distant mountain. The synopsis of the plot is described more than completely by this, but you can’t even imagine how magical and unusual gaming experience hiding behind it. This is very meditative and beautiful game - music, graphics, landscapes - in which you will need to go through very picturesque locations.

Everything here is really unusual and unusual. No map, no hints, no multiplayer per se, but! During the journey, you can meet with another player and move with him to the same mountain. You do not know anything about your companion - except that he is a living person. You have no means of communication other than a semblance of screaming, and only at the end, after completing the Journey, do you see your companion's name in the credits. Sooooo unusual and cool gaming experience.

Grand Theft Auto V

It makes no sense to advertise GTA. Every Pokémon knows about the delights of this world since the vice city. But the fifth part (aka the 15th game in the series) is something. Oh god, Rockstar blew 266! million! dollars! in game development! There are 3 main characters here at once with well-developed characters, whose stories are intertwined. The final goal is to rob the US Federal Vault, taking out more than 200 million dollars in bags and pockets. Oh my!

GTA V has maximum freedom: an open dynamic world, the ability to switch between heroes at any time, and as many as 3 main endings storyline. Stealing, going to strip clubs, stealing cars, loving, watching TV, doing yoga, playing Tamagotchi, taking selfies, smuggling! Everything is possible here.

And breaking news for those who slept in a hole in recent years: GTA V finally has multiplayer. Now all the same can be done online with your gang, and it is not necessary to have friends. But be prepared for Game of Thrones-style death - very, very sudden.

Deponia The Complete Journey

Platforms: PC

Deponia is steep humorous quest pumping logic and erudition. An ideal option for those who can't stand shooting games and consider ordinary quests to be primitive and boring. The plot of the quest is that Rufus, tired of life on a small planet littered with garbage, one by one makes the most ridiculous escape plans.

Aikyu of the level of Friends is not required for passing, do not be alarmed, but the puzzles and story are really cool and the solutions are not always obvious. Deponia The Complete Journey is one of the best representatives in its genre. The only thing is to be prepared for the fact that localization killed a good half of the jokes, so if English allows, pass in the original.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

Platforms: PC, PS3, XBOX 360, PS4, XBOX ONE

Fairy-tale cooperative puzzle-adventure with not the most intricate plot, but very powerful moral background. There are two brothers whose mother died a long time ago, and then all of a sudden the father got very sick. Only the juice of a huge tree that grows behind mountains, forests, fields, and generally very far away can save him. A strong and dramatic story that the creators managed to tell without the use of words (at least human-readable ones) at all.

There is no cooperative as such. you will play as both brothers at the same time(prepare joysticks, without them it will be hard). At first, the brain will refuse to understand how this is even possible, but over time it will get involved and even begin to enjoy such a process. Gameplay is original and intuitive: only two buttons to interact with the outside world, and two sticks to control the brothers.

There is nothing here besides the main storyline, and it goes through quite quickly - in 4 hours. All scenes and tasks are very original and atmospheric, there are no repetitive mechanics, but there are magnificent colorful landscapes. The story itself is sometimes cruel, bloody, but, most importantly, very magical and emotionally powerful.

Platforms: PC, PS4, XBOX ONE

Team online shooter from Blizzard with fantasy art. In the future, the machines still rebelled, as promised by the Terminator. But the Overwatch organization was able to overcome the rebellious robots. Everything calmed down, the guys from the organization were no longer needed by mankind, because of which they were forced to go home. But after a few years, crime gained momentum, and Overwatch members had to re-team and take up arms in order to save civilians.

Multiplayer Ideal raised to absolute. By experience Team Fortress 2, which is played even after almost 10 years since its release, is basically obvious: team shooters live out of time, like Tsoi, as soon as they conquer their audience. Blizzard did not impose its game - the noise around it has risen and has not subsided since the first days of the beta release. And after the release of the server, which were designed for something inhuman, fell. The flow of those wishing to play turned out to be more than this very "inhuman".

Overwatch is very different characters , each with its own history and skills, a bunch of arenas and modes(3 cards each). Persians do not need pumping or customization, everything is decided only by your personal skills- nothing extra. Gameplay is intuitive and clear, and due to the drawing, even your girlfriend will like it: it will stick to the monitor while you are creating destroy.

Platforms: PC, PS4, XBOX ONE

The nuclear boom gave rise to the post-apocalypse. Only those who managed to get to the bunker survived. Everything is either half-destroyed or half-mutated. After 200 years, the hero gets out of the bunker and goes for a walk around the ruined world in search of his son, Sean the lamb.

Generally recognized as one of the most anticipated projects of 2015 more successful than not. Locations are worked out, enemies are very terrifying, quests are interesting(although, in fairness, there is also wild boredom like “bring me that thing that lies quietly across the road”), the overall story is gaining momentum, and in the end it turns out that the hero is involved in some kind of wildest story. For fans of the original dilogy, it will cause pain and burning below the back, for everyone else it is very playable.

Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX ONE

Hipster Adventure Movie Quest, very cool interactive everyday life in which you live the life of a student girl Max. At a critical moment, a gentle creature discovers the ability to rewind time and correct mistakes. At first, the skill is used mainly for everyday student trifles, but in the course of the action it turns out that the city of Max is threatened by the apocalypse, and it would be good to prevent it.

The game was released as a series, by episodes, and if the first parts are similar to a girl series with a teenage drama, then somewhere in the middle the suffering fades into the background, and the main one becomes The ultimate Twin Peaks Girl Disappearance Mystery. Every decision and action has its fruits and sooner or later it will definitely come around. Included - cool soundtrack, well-developed detective story, realism with a pleasant dose of mysticism. Disappointing, however, is the fact that the final choice is the same for everyone and does not depend on your previous decisions.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Platforms: PS4

The protagonist Nathan and his wife bought a house, chose the curtains to match the sofas and live a happy quiet life, until Nathan's older brother is announced, long years presumed dead. Oh yes: in the previous parts of the game, Nathan was a treasure hunter. Little has changed here: suddenly, a living brother says that a treasure is waiting in Madagascar, and the guys go in search of the mythical Libertalia.

Impossible beautiful exclusive for Sonya, which made a lot of die-hard PC players get a console. "Way of the Thief" is well-developed third-person action game with puzzles, gunfights(weapons have increased in the arsenal, and gunfights are approaching the title of ideal), action scenes at the level of Hollywood action movies and the ability to choose answers in dialogues. But be prepared for a very poor Russian localization.

Need for Speed (2015)

Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX ONE

There is no point in talking about legendary races Need for Speed - they earned their name back in the distant 2000s. This is not just a game, this is a real era. The 2015 reboot has everything that the mutated series has managed to lose in recent installments: advanced car tuning, a brave new open world, and police racing.

At first it seems that the restart of the series is not the idea of the creators, but of PR people who wanted to more gold from an obsolete product. But in fact, it turns out that the game of the 15th year incorporated all the best from the previous parts, and the output is the very essence of the Need for Speed. A must for anyone who has ever felt an adrenaline rush at the keyboard, joystick or a real steering wheel.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Platforms: PC, PS3, XBOX ONE

Welcome to the interactive Game of Thrones. You are a Dragonborn who very conveniently comes to the province of Skyrim just when he is needed the most. The world is threatened with death by dragons, and you need to overcome a lot of difficulties in order to stop the fire-breathers and their master Alduin.

The world here is also infinitely open, the player can do whatever they want. Graphics are wildly beautiful and cause multiple aesthetic orgasms. A plus full freedom creativity: you can start a family, you can become a thief, a murderer, a noble knight - yes, even a princess. There is spectacular fights, the ability to upgrade certain attacks and skills. The plot is good because certain RPG engines generate their own stories which is original and captivating.

The most honest Skyrim trailer ever.

Platforms: PC, PS3, XBOX 360

Here everything is as gloomy as in horror stories about "a black-black street in a black-black city." People were mowed down by a disease that turns everyone into undead, and main character goes on a long trip to restore white balance and stop the impending Age of Darkness. And so you go around the world, completing quests and fighting enemy creatures.

It won't be fun or just - only difficulty level 180 and fear, only hardcore. Remember "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" on Dandy, in which, dying, you found yourself at the very beginning? It's about the same, but lighter. Each creature taller than half a meter kills you in two spit, and each death throws back strongly, taking away the accumulated experience. But at least not at the beginning.
educates character and works magic with the nervous system, but against the backdrop of a clear trend towards simplifying games, it is delightful and especially valuable. A must for those who really like to overcome difficulties.

Tomb Raider (2013)

Platforms: PC, MAC, PS3, XBOX 360

Tomb Raider 2013 is a prequel to the very first game in the series. Here Lara famously turns from an archaeological university graduate into a furious sex symbol for all gamers. In the story, Lara and her expedition are looking for a lost civilization, but a terrible storm destroys the ship, and then throws all the survivors on the shore of a seemingly uninhabited island.

When Crystal Dynamics announced that it plans to - modernize the most famous gaming woman, the world held its breath: of course, restarts are a terrible thing. But in the end it turned out very well: a perfectly executed third-person combat system, enjoyable gameplay and a realistic system for acquiring survival skills. Truth, brain-puzzling puzzles have gone into oblivion for which old Lara was so famous. But this is offset by a large number of advantages - take at least good competitive multiplayer system and Lara's chest, which retained its elasticity.

Platforms: PC, PS4, XBOX ONE, ANDROID, IOS

Killed joysticks Dendy and childhood will never be released, but time goes by. In recent years, "Mortal" is gaining momentum and evolving, and in the "top ten" it is felt especially powerfully: the bones here crunch louder than ever. For example, Sonya and Johnny Cage had children who inherited their parents' love for blood and also tear out the insides of everyone they hit. For example, in the 10th part, you can destroy, ahem, the manhood of a father by the hands of his own daughter.

New Predator type heroes, and also those who returned from vacation (for example, Tanya from part 4). All in all, perfect k-to-combo pairs for fighting. Yes, and the variety has increased: now each hero can choose priorities in battle. From controversial points - there was an opportunity ... buy Fatality. The archaic keystroke system still works, but now you can get away with it just by paying.

Platforms: PC, PS3, XBOX 360, NINTENDO WII U, PS4, XBOX ONE

She is also "Look the Dog", "Watch the Dog" and how else this name was just not joked. A guy in a trendy cap is engaged in magical hacking - he hacks the phones of rich and respected people "by bluetooth". At one party, they fire him and start a chase, during which the hero's niece dies in an accident. And he decides to become an avenger.

Basic the plot is not that wow, not particularly memorable or stands out in some way. But there are funny dialogues and jokes, which smoothes the situation. All around full of beauty and detail, although there are problems with physics and textures. There will be many plot Easter eggs, hide-and-seek, action, shooting, racing and good assignments outside of the main storyline.

True, we did not understand How do dogs have to do with all this?.

Platforms: PC, PS3, XBOX 360

First-person adventure-shooter-RPG mix in which you play as a guy whose vacation doesn't go according to plan. Jason Brody (that's you, meet you) comes with friends to an exotic island where they hang out, party, take selfies, skydive, until one day they are captured by sadistic pirates. Jason manages to escape, and he lights up with a desire to take revenge on a terrible revenge.

Cool open world with frighteningly realistic graphics and a story that you won't want to break away from. Players will need to storm pirate territories, hunt all kinds of animals and evolve from a weakling to tough guy who saved his friends and matured for the time you spent with him. Special Mast for Lost Fans.

Platforms: PC, PS3, XBOX 360

A shooter that captures the imagination and strikes it to the deepest wilds. Private detective Booker receives an order: to get to a flying city, whose location is not really known, and rescue a girl from there. Then it turns out that some kind of sheer horror is going on in the world and a destructive war is about to break out.

Plot blanks are very classic- a princess in a tower, a hero with a dark past, the world is on the brink of disaster. But all this is summed up in such a way that the result is something completely new.. And although the world of the game is fictional, you still immerse yourself in it and believe: atmosphere and detail take their toll. Here, what's cool every little thing counts, but only. Spectacular fights, a truly intricate story told in a movie-like form of a shooter.

Platforms: PC, PS4, XBOX 360, IOS

Something very terrible happened in the world: everything fell apart into small pieces, and the only surviving place is the Bastion. The blond guy, for whom you have to play, wakes up in an incomprehensible place and is going to go towards this very Bastion, where he learns that the fortress is destroyed, and in order to restore it (and the world) and destroy the universal Evil, you will have to make a lot of efforts than you and get busy.

Very nice and detailed walker, in which it does not immediately become clear that WTF is happening here . You travel through different locations, fight local bosses and difficulties, then move back to the Bastion, where you choose which weapons you will take and which potions you will use before the trip. Toward the middle you're already basting strategically choose equipment correctly, which adds a decent amount of pluses to the game.

Platforms: PC, PS3, XBOX 460, PS4

Fantasy walker, which at first glance is very similar to Bastion (the same developer, after all), but in fact it is something completely different. You will have to play for the red-haired singer Red, whose life was recently made an attempt and who is determined to avenge fiercely for it. On her side is a huge talking sword Transistor, in which the consciousness of an unknown person who saved Red's life is placed.

Outwardly, everything is about the same as in Bastion: a third-person action RPG in which you have to travel through the most beautiful fantasy world, fight and do all sorts of small things. But the gameplay has gotten deeper since the studio's first game, more personal story, and the atmosphere is atmospheric. If you give free rein to whining, you can say about monotonous battles and a fairly short duration of the game.

Platforms: PC, PS3, XBOX 360

High-quality puzzle-experiment with fairly complex puzzles- for logically thinking masochists who like to test their thinking and do not imagine life without difficulties. The plot is simple: the main character, Chell, wakes up in one of the cells of the highly scientific laboratory Aperture and tries to escape. At her disposal is a portal gun, with which you can move yourself and other objects.

It won't be too difficult at first, but it's only at first.: Further, even primitive things will become confusing, and an empty room will turn into a quest. Extremely good localization and a lot of high-quality humor. It is bound to appeal to those who love brainstorming and want to get the maximum profit from games.

Xbox One and Microsoft's Sony PlayStation 4 are powerful consoles that can run even graphics-intensive games at high resolutions and frame rates. Chasing each other, each company has already released updated versions their respective platforms, with even better chipsets that can handle the latest display standards. But no matter how strong these systems are, there will always be one platform that is one step ahead, always leading and advancing to the first front.

The one who first receives the latest and best technology, is a priority for the presentation of their creations by game studios. After all these years of technological race, the personal computer is still at the forefront.

Today, the major AAA publishers no longer have a huge number of exclusives (except, of course, platform games). What works on one platform almost certainly works on another. Even indie games are easily transitioning from Windows to Xbox One these days due to their shared development environment. As such, you won't find anything like the original PC-only Doom that showed off its raw potential anymore - even the new Doom is cross-platform. But that doesn't mean there aren't some shocking graphical masterpieces on PC, and there won't be any soon. And no matter what, by using the latest and greatest graphics card(s) in your PC build, you'll always see and experience the game better than anyone else. If you are wondering how to test your hardware, then these are the upcoming computer games with better graphics.

Far Cry 5 will make your hardware cry

Franchise Far Cry started on PC as the debut game from developer Crytek. Crytek has always been a very visually minded studio and they wanted the first game to show what they could do with their brand new CryEngine. Far Cry managed to put Crytek on the map so they could move on to other franchises. Ubisoft bought their series of games and has been developing Far Cry ever since.

There are a couple of elements that are fundamental to Far games Cry, one of which is a huge open world that players can explore far and wide. This means that the game must be able to seamlessly render large areas in stunning detail. The original CryEngine did this brilliantly for its time. And in a sense, it has remained the same: Today, the Far Cry series runs on the Dunia Engine, a version of CryEngine modified by Ubisoft.

Far Cry 5 will introduce the latest and greatest best version Dunia to make a mysterious and exotic land: America. The player will be overwhelmed by the landscape while fighting off waves of enemy combatants in parallel. Dunia does it all at once, while offering sleek animation and the latest lighting technology. Crytek may have moved on, but in this important respect, their influence on the franchise remains: it just has to look good.

Skull & Bones will make your graphics card retire

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag brought the venerable Ubisoft action series into the golden age of piracy. And what pirate game would be complete without a deep, robust intelligence and ship combat system? The naval mechanics of Black Flag proved to be so good that it became a hallmark of the game. Fans were disappointed to learn that the ships would not be returning in the subsequent Assassin's Creed Unity game.

But then, at E3 2017, Ubisoft showed that they hadn't forgotten about the life of a pirate yet: they actually took the whole idea and created an entirely new title out of it - Skull & Bones. Indeed, ship-to-ship combat was introduced as the core of the gameplay. And it looks spectacular, from rolling ocean hues in blues and greens to massive splashes of colliding ships soaring through the waves. Meanwhile, a host of enemy ships, each distinctly marked with sail and gold markings, will constantly come your way. Combat is fast and brutal, and it shows details with amazing accuracy. Explosions are always better if the match is torn apart.

Aside from the game's sheer graphical fidelity, there are very few other games that will look like the title describes. After all, most games take place on the ground, or perhaps in space. Very few games are actually played at sea, and naval combat, at this sort of resolution, is at least impressive. Skull & Bones will show you that most games in the world just don't even try.

Anthem is a new song for your iron

BioWare has carved a niche in a huge range of games as the best provider of story games that are still within AAA budget, scope and graphics. But despite the fame and influence of the series mass effect and dragon age they never collected massive box office. For Bioware, this is a time of big business selling video games, and their weapon is Anthem.

Anthem is a multiplayer action adventure shooter where small teams of power armor heroes go into the untamed wilderness to complete missions and get better loot so they can complete more missions. This wildlife itself is one of the trailer's stellar breakthroughs: bright, green, and voracious, coming to full fruition using DICE's legendary Frostbite engine to render creatures and environments. Rays of light are naturally filtered through the forest canopy, and everything from bird flocks to dust particles dynamically crosses the screen.

And none of this mentions fluid combat animations, which can include fights with massive mechanical creatures capable of destroying environment. Throw in some smoke and reflection effects while enemy shots splatter the player's armor with metal, and the result is a random force graphic that will hopefully be another BioWare storytelling triumph. Quite simply, in all of its long history, BioWare has never made a game that looks so visually promising. And hopefully they live up to that promise as some reports indicate that Anthem is the studio's last chance for survival...

Soul Calibur - Your PC has never seen anything like it

Namco's own Soul Calibur franchise has always thrived on excellent presentation: great environments, fast animations, and distinctive characters. Soul Calibur VI hopes to continue that tradition, while at the same time breaking new ground: the Veteran series enters combat for the first time on PC

The battles have their own feature - the entire gameplay takes place in 3D space. Only two players go one-on-one against each other. In other words, there aren't many things that a graphics engine can worry about. Where other games need to deal with a huge variety of characters, or a massive open world, stretching somewhere far away, and more often even both factors, and Soul Calibur can simply concentrate on creating a small number of elements is simply irresistible. Every movement, every lunge, and every throw can be perfected to the limit of the developers' imaginations. At any moment, your screen will be filled with lightning, fire, wind, or unclassified energy effects at the same time, literally worthy of a crazy anime fight. Which, in a nutshell, is what this entire franchise is about.

While you won't be exploring the environment, it's beautifully framed and, again, the detailing is focused on size and volume that goes beyond any semblance of realism. Soul Calibur VI doesn't intend to be small: it wants to be bigger. It also depends on the frame rate, as 60fps is the goal even when running at 4K.

Metro: Exodus is a holiday for your PC

The post-apocalyptic desert has appeared a million times in the world of video games. But Metro: Exodus wants to make a ruined and barren look presentable. From vast snowy landscapes to every single hair in the monster's fur, Exodus takes full advantage of developer 4A Games' custom engine. When Microsoft wanted to showcase the sheer potential of their new Xbox One X console at E3 2017, Exodus was their choice. But no matter how good it is, it will be better on PC.

One of the game's key artistic elements seems to be the use of fine detail throughout. From dust, to snow, to shrapnel, there is almost never a static moment no matter where you look. The effects of dust and lighting are so natural that they almost do not attract attention. Even if you don't fight enemies at all, you are confronted with a visual feast. Barren has never looked so handsome.

Of course, at some point, you will also be fighting enemies. Here the graphics are accurate and gorgeous. The big monster from the debut trailer destroys the environment, objects bounce out of its path or are destroyed altogether. At the edge of the cliff, rocks fall as the characters approach. And as soon as the monster gets up close, its drooling jaws look no less detailed. This is definitely worth a look.

Quake is still on a roll

More than any other studio, id Software puts the PC on the map as the absolute last word in graphics. Doom has changed the way we think about what can be done on a PC screen. And their mega hit Quake practically invented the modern concept of a multiplayer shooter. Quake Champions is id's upcoming return to their shooter juggernaut and it brings with it all the technical know-how of one of the most experienced studios in the industry

The developers are so focused on making Champions the best experience which may be that they don't even adapt it for consoles. Head of Development Tim Willit is quoted as saying, "We don't want any excuses, no restrictions."

Unlike the rest of the games on this list, this is a full AAA class that is exclusive to PC. The developers hope to make Quake Champions the main game of eSports, and they want nothing to distract them from this goal. This means that the controls will be built with the keyboard and mouse in mind, not the controller; and the graphics can be as crazy as they want to be because they are not limited by any chipsets.

Visually, the game still looks as fast, bloody, and frantic as its legacy. The priority here is speed and checking reflexes, not deliberation or strategic thinking. However, you still have to keep in mind where the power-ups are and when they will appear, and then try to guess how your opponents react to the same information. This is an old school game in a design that one can only dream of.

Star Citizen has enough budget to give you the galaxy

Kickstarter has allowed some ambitious creators to achieve their dreams. But the ambition can't be greater than that driven by gaming veteran Chris Roberts for Star Citizen. It's a space combat sim, first person shooter and trading sim all rolled into one. Plus it's an MMO. And it features an extensive single-player campaign with top Hollywood actors. Or rather, the game will have all of these ingredients...if it ever comes out of the extended early access period.

However, unlike some Kickstarters who raise a ton of cash and then disappear, Star Citizen is currently in early access and some of his game modes available right now. Although the final release date is constantly being delayed, a constant stream of new content is pouring into the game. Process planets and process cities mean there will be a huge amount of settlements to visit, in high detail and on a huge scale. This game is designed to make you feel like you are living in a science fiction novel. The cosmos has come to you.

From character movement to the vastness of space, Star Citizen wants to be outstanding. To do this, the Cloud Imperium Games team uses the Amazon Lumberyard engine, a modified engine made by Seattle-based online software retail giant Crytek and CryEngine. If they ever make a game - after investing almost $150 million on Kickstarter, they should - then Star Citizen should push your graphics card to its limits.

Unreal Tournament is still the bomb

Over the years, Epic has released many influential games from Gears of War to Fortnite. But the backbone of their business for 20 years has been their own Unreal Engine, which is widely used throughout the industry. Unreal Engine 4 continues to be one of the most versatile and powerful engines on the market. But no matter how huge Fortnite's game base gets, this game isn't necessarily a graphical masterpiece: if anything, Fortnite is designed to be played on just about any machine. To really prove what can make them software, Epic Games returns to the franchise that gave the engine its name: Unreal..

The Tournament subsection of Unreal games has always been fast-paced arena battles, and the upcoming sequel is just Unreal Tournament- shows no signs that this trend. Throwing players into huge, vertically oriented maps with an array of weapons one can only imagine scattered around, this game is a throwback to shooter designs from the 1990s. But while the design may be old school, the graphics are cutting edge. Epic wants to fill Unreal Tournament with flashy cards that fully showcase the power of their engine.

However, when it will see the light of day, one can only guess. There was no official date. However, the game is already playable and is, in fact, being developed by Epic along with the community at large. Anyone who wants to can contribute to the game. Provided, of course, that you have an Unreal Engine license.

Thrones of Britannia - new Total War

The Creative War of Creative series is one of the most revered strategy franchises. Thanks to nearly two decades of success, total war is now at a stage where it can develop in several directions. After two successful trips to Games Workshop's dark fantasy universe in Total War: Warhammer and its sequel, Creative Assembly has announced its next historic Game Total War: Three Kingdoms, where the events unfold in ancient China. But along the way, there was a surprise: brand new sub-series within the larger franchise, dubbed the Total War Saga. The first such saga will be Thrones of Britannia.

These new saga sub-categories are meant to focus on specific historical "hotspots", as opposed to broad eras that persist for hundreds of years. In this case, Thrones of Britannia focuses on the British Isles immediately after King Alfred the Great's defeat to the invading Vikings, and the fragile peace that cassocks afterwards. Even though the game has a more concentrated storyline, it looks like it will still have large areas filled with many settlements to develop or conquer. And, of course, the franchise's cohesive mix of turn-based strategy and real-time tactics is improving.

And the graphics didn't suffer for the game's smaller footprint. Pictures from gameplay show complex effects such as flares blazing from individual shields, helmets and weapons on the battlefield with thousands of such items moving independently. Speaking of which, the series' "trademark" ability to produce massive numbers of units at once looks as good as ever. The game may be released for $40, but it will load your hardware just like any full-fledged game.

The Crew 2 looks great from land, water and air

Racing games are often great candidates to show off the full graphical power of their platform. From glitzy cities to remote regions, trails can be located anywhere; the cars themselves can shine, reflect and crash in ways that easily convey how good the visuals are. Next in this proud tradition of great riders is The Crew 2 , which will not only allow you to compete in cars, but also in boats and planes.

And you will compete in America. Not just the usual tracks in America, but the entire United States. Taxes, the USA has been reduced to the level of playgrounds. However, you will be able to drive from Los Angeles to New York in one continuous trip, see all the amazing sights and skip all the boring places. Whether it's air, water or asphalt, America and your own vehicle sets will be presented in exquisite detail. From the rolling waves in the San Francisco Bay to the Manhattan skyline, to the mud of the deep forest, The Crew 2 captures America's diversity in a stunning way.

themselves vehicles also look realistic, from the smoke coming off the tires to the sunlight reflecting off the panels. But it will not be a game in the usual sense - this is a game in which you can throw your car on top of skyscrapers. Realistic graphics? Yes. Realistic physics? Not really.

Witchfire is a demo of the Unreal Engine

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter by Polish developers The Astronauts was an indie mystery game released in 2014 based on the idea of uncovering secrets rather than destroying endless enemies. It was part of a wider movement independent games aimed at removing violence as the main hook for attracting an audience. So how do The Astronauts choose to follow this? BUT Witchfire, a game where you... destroy endless enemies.

Surprised? Given that the founders of The Astronauts are the same guys who founded the People Can Fly studio that made Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment. For Witchfire , they will combine the strong action of their early work with Ethan Carter 's atmospheric dread . To do this, they turned to Unreal Engine 4, and judging by the trailer, it was a test even for this engine. The trees in the storm are characterized by individually swaying branches, and the sunlight changes realistically as the clouds darken. Meanwhile, the environmental design looks great, down to the ivy growing along the abandoned walls. If he can combine the best of two completely different styles that this team has already featured, Witchfire could be an amazing experience. It will look even cooler.

Graphics are not the most important thing. In general, the expression is correct, but there is something subtly hypocritical in it, approximately like in the statement “In a girl, one must first of all value intelligence.” Let's be honest: the visual aspect is extremely important, even if you are not a graphic artist ... in general, a staunch connoisseur of graphics. In this article, Gmbox invites you to recall 10 iconic games that literally killed with their incomparable visuals, and here you will find both cult classics and fresh hits.

10. Duke Nukem 3D

Before Duke, all 3D shooters pushed the protagonist into some kind of enclosed space - whether it was a laboratory on a distant planet and hell (Doom), or medieval catacombs (Heretic, Hexen). Duke Nukem 3D was the first to create a very believable - for those times! is a modern metropolis. Shops, movie theaters, skyscrapers, strippers you could sprinkle with bucks, toilet bowls that could be kicked - Duke offered a wealth of possibilities in visually perfect execution. It was even possible to “break” a stripper with your foot - it’s a pity, the option of sprinkling the toilet with dollars was not provided ...

9. Quake

But there was one glaring minus in Duke Nukem 3D: sprite enemies. In a collision at the same level, they still looked tolerable, but when viewed from the top shelf of the model, it was terribly tilted back. Oldfags clearly remember this shameful farce. But against its background, Quake was a real revelation: for the first time in the history of game development - fully three-dimensional mobs made of flesh and blood, and not some kind of robots! Accordingly, dismemberment in honest 3D has become a real work of art: a direct hit from a grenade launcher into an ogre with a chainsaw would not be ashamed to be written by Vereshchagin himself.

8. Crisis

I remember this moment very well in 2007: a friend bought a powerful PC to work with sound, and he didn’t stint on a video card. Yes, “sound work” was going on, but in free time the mini-tower was loaded with Crysis. Seeing the gameplay for the first time, I was sure for a minute and a half that this was a pre-rendered video, until the revelation hit me like thunder: keyboard / mouse manipulations coincide with what is happening on the screen! I am sure that everyone has their own (no less reverent) story of acquaintance with Crysis, and no one will argue: in the modern (post-2000s) history of game development, this is the most important breakthrough in terms of graphics quality.

7. grand theft AutoIV

The immortal GTA III could also be at this point: after all, the transition from 2D to 3D is an invaluable achievement. However, here is still GTA IV. In the third part, despite all its achievements, there was a rather primitive graphics - something from the category of early cubism. It seemed that the developers simply moved the camera behind their backs, having not changed anything aesthetically since the 2nd part. At the same time, Grand Theft Auto IV was the first in the history of the game industry to create an absolutely believable metropolis - one that Duke Nukem could only dream of.

6. Arma 3

Do you want to know the main highest quality graphics of this Czech franchise? When a variety of TV channels (regardless of the country) urgently need to find a picture of modern warfare, this picture, as a rule, turns out to be a screenshot from Arma 3. Already 5 years have passed, but this ultra-realistic military simulator (the language does not dare to call Arma the banal word “shooter”) until now, not everyone will go to ultra graphic settings. It’s not worth talking about porting to consoles: of course, Arma is not there. They won't pull.

5. The Witcher 3

There are memes about couple of independent slavs - “several independent Slavs”. Memes, I emphasize at once, are flattering, not offensive. Take some mind-blowing screenshot from the third “The Witcher”, and next to it is a mediocre picture, say, from Mass Effect: Andromeda. The inscription says that here, they say, the first is from a couple of independent Slavs, and the second is from a huge studio with a fantastic budget. Of course, by the beginning of work on the third part, CD Projekt had grown 4 times, but this is still not the scale of the Activision - EA - Ubisoft trio. So the graphics in the third "The Witcher" - in any case, the feat of the Poles.

4. Forza Horizon 3

It would seem to do good graphics in racing simulator as easy as shelling pears: perfectly balanced the number of objects along the ring so that everything is beautiful and does not slow down, and voila! All is ready. But what if there is no “ring” at all? If every wrong turn takes you to the jungle, sandy beaches, waterfalls, suburbs and metropolitan areas? The creators of Forza Horizon 3 have achieved their goal: the world is completely seamless, gigantic and at the same time incredibly beautiful. We take off our hats, like Nikita Sergeevich.

3. Far Cry 5

This Ubisoft franchise has always impressed with the quality of the graphics. No wonder it was bought from the legendary Crytek (Crysis): the Dunia engine, on which Far Cry is assembled, is probably a refinement of the German engine. By the fifth part, Dunya has blossomed in an incredible way: on a good technique with a 4K display, you will think that you really got into the American outback. Squint your eyes. Now squint a little more. Now, almost photorealism. At least in 5-6 years, Ubisoft will definitely reach it. In the meantime, enjoy the reflection of the sky in the 4K lakes of Montana.

2. The Last of Us (original on PS3)

Only one question: how? How could you squeeze such a picture out of an antediluvian PS3, because its maximum resolution is only 720p? However, Naughty Dog was able to do it. HD (not even Full HD!) the picture never fell into squares, did not look like a shameful soap. On the contrary, it was a real visual masterpiece. Apparently, in that distant era, it was not necessary to pay close attention to same-sex love, so the developers concentrated on optimization and image quality. The original The Last of Us became a real PlayStation 3 swan song, after which it was no longer a pity to send a frankly outdated box to the mezzanine.

1. Horizon: Zero Dawn

Naughty Dog have been honing their skills on Uncharted all their lives, but then out of nowhere, the Guerilla guerrillas appeared. Those, in turn, devoted their entire careers to the gloomy industrial shooter Killzone. And after that - a surprise in the form of Horizon with its four climatic zones and breathtaking landscapes. Nature, which had long ago conquered the remains of the former greatness of mankind, looked incomparable, and mechanical dinosaurs (especially those that were larger) were amazing. It is a pity that the sequel has not yet been announced, but it must happen. Horizon can't be one game - it's more like a three-part franchise.

Over the past two decades, many top and monotonous MMORPGs have appeared. I decided to surf the Internet and collect the best projects that will surely delight you with cool graphics. One can already be played, both in the West and in Russia, but the developers continue to work on others.

Tree of Savior

The developers of Tree of Savior were inspired by the cult MMO before creating the project. In fact, the guys improved the graphics and added new content. Get ready to face hordes of enemies, go on a raid, visit a dungeon and, of course, wrest goddesses from the clutches of darkness. But, before downloading the game, make sure that the controls and camera position are suitable for you. You can give orders to the hero with the mouse, and watch from a bird's eye view. Thanks to the isometric view, there is a chance to notice the enemy in advance and come up with a plan.

The game was released in 2010, and in 2013 the developers announced a re-release. As a result, the graphics were improved, many systems were changed and bugs were fixed. Key Features- the ability to see the past. Look behind a screen filled with colors, special effects, adventures, deeds and battles. Each individual mission is a mesmerizing journey.
