Homefront the revolution is the main character. Homefront: The Revolution is a street kid shooter. Review. Welcome to the Resistance

Game tested on PC

Homefront: The Revolution has a difficult fate. After the bankruptcy of publishing house THQ, Crytek took the series under its wing and announced a new part. The Germans did not stint on promises: a large open world was supposed to appear in the game, and the absence of hard-coded scripted scenes would make it as alive as possible. In addition, the authors planned to move away from arcade shootouts a la Call of Duty and work on tactical elements. Alas, soon Crytek itself found itself in a difficult financial situation, which is why the rights to the project were again sold under the hammer. Having become the new owner, Deep Silver, without thinking twice, transferred all the developments to a young and unknown studio. Thus was born Dambuster Studios' Frankenstein's monster...

guerrilla war

Like the entire project as a whole, any individual component of Homefront: The Revolution seems to be abandoned halfway through. There is no open world here at all. In each part of the game, we are offered to explore a small area of Philadelphia, occupied by Korean invaders. The map is full of key points, and the hero must complete a series of tasks to move forward in the story. You can go back, but why? Locations are lifeless and monotonous. And the boring search for hiding places does not at all give a reason to wake up a virtual tourist in yourself.

Even if you hide the rifle, you won’t go wild - the soldiers carefully look for the main character among passers-by, and when they see him, they open fire without question. It is useless to fight, because reinforcements arrive endlessly. Therefore, during an unsuccessful sabotage, it is better to hide in one of the garbage cans (or dry closets) carefully placed around. You won’t have time to blink, as the level of anxiety drops to normal, and the violator will be safely forgotten. Sometimes it’s enough to run around the corner and sit there - the Koreans were taught to take by numbers, not by intelligence.

In your free time from the plot, you can attack the military posts with which the map is dotted. A converted garage, a library, a cheap diner - there is no fundamental difference between them. One of a couple of ways to open the door, a simple puzzle and the activation of a key object - that's the whole set for capturing a protected area. In seconds, crowds of separatists with machine guns will already be walking around the occupied location. Inspired by the most boring element of Far Cry 4, Dambuster Studios put the player in an unpleasant situation: if you want to safely walk around the city, clear the map. In addition, the routine activity opens access to checkpoints and shops with weapons (with infinite ammo). And loyal soldiers work as bodyguards for free.

Bulletin boards are placed at the bases. Tasks from them are carefully copied from some budget MMO: kill 20 soldiers with a headshot, shoot down 3 drones, open 10 special containers, kill 5 opponents without raising the alarm ... Boring! Occur regularly random events, but they also do not shine with originality - judging by the radio broadcast, the rebels are not able to take a step without being ambushed by the communists.

War Machine of the Revolution

For completing quests and capturing strongholds, they give money and technologies that can be exchanged for equipment. The weapon shop sells improved body armor, boots that allow you to move a little quieter, gloves that speed up reloading, additional bags and other goods. A collimator sight and a handle to reduce recoil are purchased for the machine gun, a silencer or a laser designator is purchased for the pistol. There are also less traditional upgrades - for example, after changing the bolt frame, the pistol turns into a compact machine gun, the carbine is converted into a sniper rifle, and the shotgun starts firing grenades. As in Crysis, upgrades can be placed right during the battle. Alas, you won’t be able to roam - in The Revolution there are only a few types of trunks and three modifications for each of them.

The rebels also have Molotov cocktails, pipe bombs and electromagnetic grenades in their arsenal. The latter allow you to open locked doors and temporarily transfer enemy drones to the side of the rebels. Guerrilla creativity is manifested here as well. By spending technology points, main character learn to combine a teddy bear with explosives (allows you to slow down detonation) and attach bombs to radio-controlled cars. Ridiculously, limited resources force freedom fighters to be more sophisticated.

Unprofessional script

The plot of Homefront: The Revolution continues the alternative history started in the first part. While the United States sank hopelessly into debt and unemployment after World War II, North Korea continued its lightning-fast development. By 2025, North Korea is attacking the Americans and taking over the Stars and Stripes with virtually no fight. Independence is lost, the only way to regain it is to organize a militia and wage a guerrilla war. Such an absurd story can also be presented interestingly - the first game almost succeeded. However, this time the screenwriter apparently worked part-time.

The revolution begins with its defeat. Silent Ethan Brady, along with resistance fighters, collects explosives on the ground floor of an apartment building. The lights are on, everyone is standing in full height Nobody thinks to hide. A few minutes later, the windows are shot from a machine gun, a government detachment breaks into the apartment, and the rebels are taken prisoner. After a short interrogation, only the main character remains alive, who is rescued by the local militia leader, Walker. A little later, he gets to the Koreans, so almost until the very end we are trying to rescue the living legend from captivity.

The history of the game is full of gaping holes. Throughout the campaign, new empty heroes flash before your eyes, whose names and characters are erased from memory on the very next mission. The mayor who sided with the Koreans, the obscure scientist from the working class, the psychopath who lives for revenge, the doctor who goes too far with lyrics and philosophy. The puppet Brady doesn't say a word when the rebels first beat him to a pulp and then send him on a suicide mission. While the hacks are hiding in shelters, he will silently work. However, how can one react when every new plan of the Americans, after another failure, is thought up on the knee?

What is happening on the screen causes melancholy. Call series of Duty has repeatedly shown how to compensate for a mediocre story with excellent production, sensible directing and an abundance of special effects. We have Wolfenstein: The New Order and Halo 5: Guardians, while Homefront: The Revolution offers crumpled dialogue and clumsily shot cinematics. And this is in 2016?

Complete devastation

Ridiculous plot is reinforced by broken scripts. In their free time, people roam the streets chaotically, crashing face-first into closed doors. The patrol sees nothing further than five meters and does not react in any way to escaped prisoners or civilians beating each other. The characters get stuck in the openings and prevent each other from passing. The scenes have nothing to do with the prepared lines, so when the police knock the rebel to the floor, he greets other passers-by in a friendly manner. If you kill a group of soldiers with prisoners and return after a while, they will again stand in the same place. And a rebel who appears out of nowhere can spoil the whole mission by starting to shoot the Koreans. Absolutely silent downpour emphasizes the deplorability of what is happening.

In those rare moments when the technical part does not cause irritation, one can praise the work of artists. Day turns to night, the unemployed roam the dirty streets, cars rotting for years on the sidewalks, and the landscape is dotted with the skeletons of buildings torn apart by bombing. The walls of the houses are covered with graffiti, the windows, hastily boarded up with rotten boards, are covered with torn curtains. A military situation reigns in the apartments of the resistance: devastation is all around, and the stove, built from improvised materials, is just beginning to flare up. Instead of children's drawings and photographs, drawings of enemy drones hang on the walls, and spy shots show the vulnerable spots of armored personnel carriers. The main forces of the rebels are holed up in the pre-war subway, which is not marked on any map of the city. From time to time, diaries of residents come across in which they describe their experiences, the prevailing life and tell where the Koreans took all the children.

From a tactical shooter, only beautiful press releases, the ability to shoot blindly and the lack of health regeneration were left. After the passage of the campaign, the co-op is painful to watch. If you catch at least someone online, you will see everything the same as in single player. Broken scripts, bugs, "brakes", monotonous music and a ridiculous plot block all the potential advantages of Homefront: The Revolution. Unfortunately, the sad story of the project turned out to be much more exciting than the fictional revolution that the developers are trying to tell about.

Plot

Korea invaded the US. All the weapons that were bought from Korea were remote-controlled, and she, by "pressing a button", turned off all the weapons that were in the US Army. Korea easily captured a helpless country that could not defend itself and occupied it.

The game takes place in the city of Philadelphia in 2029. The main character is a member of the American Resistance, Ethan Brady. Resistance forces are trying to liberate the city from the KPA.

Characters

  • Ethan Brady- the main character of the game. In the beginning, he becomes a member of the American Resistance. For the entire time of the game, he helps the Resistance, sabotaging the actions of the KPA, frees the areas in the city from the Koreans. Tried to save Walker, but couldn't. At the end of the game, saves all the people of Philadelphia from death. For the entire duration of the game, he did not utter a word.
  • Benjamin Walker(aka "Voice of Freedom") is a strong and strong-willed person, a symbol of Resistance. Many, like Parrish, believe that he can rouse the country to revolution. At the beginning of the game was captured by the KPA. Towards the end of the game, Ethan and other members of the Resistance see on video that he was broken (most likely due to torture): in it, Walker says that the revolution will be disastrous for many and there has never been a better power than the KPA in America. The Russian version is voiced by Alexander Gavrilin.
  • Jack Parrish- Leader of the Philadelphia Resistance Cell. He believed that Walker would be able to make a revolution in the city, but the news that the last one was broken by the KPA makes him lose heart. Toward the end of the game, he makes a speech to the camera - he himself wanted Walker to make such a speech. In the end, he raises riots throughout the city. At the end of the game, he is severely wounded, but survives. Voiced by Oleg Kutsenko in the Russian version.
  • Dana Moore one of the leaders of the resistance. Sadistic woman. Helped Parrish in all combat operations. At the end of the game, he sacrifices himself to save the city. Voiced by Veronika Sarkisova in the Russian version.
  • Sam Burnett- Doctor, one of the leaders of the Resistance in the city. He has clinics in the city where the arsenal of the Resistance is kept. Sam is a humanist and advocates for non-violence, at all meetings of the leaders of the Resistance opposed any decisive action against the KPA, also against the release of Walker. He is very worried about each fighter of the Resistance and looks at their death with heaviness. Towards the end of the game, he was very embittered by the large number of casualties among the Resistance fighters. When he heard the news about the airships armed with poisonous gas, he leaves the Resistance, saying that he will try to save as many people as he can. The Russian version is voiced by Alexander Gruzdev.
  • James Crawford- A double agent of the Resistance who is embedded in the KPA as a collaborator in order to gather information about the activities of the KPA. Towards the end of the game, he betrays the Resistance and traps Brady and the other members. At the end of the game, the KPA launches a powerful offensive against all the Resistance bases, apparently on a tip from Crawford. At the end of the game, you can either kill him or let him go. The Russian version is voiced by Alexander Novikov.
  • William Simpson Mayor of Philadelphia and KPA authority in the city. Under his leadership, raids, arrests and murders of members of the Resistance are carried out. However, at the end of the game, it turns out that he himself cannot act freely due to the difficult circumstances surrounding him, and is forced to do what the KPA dictates to him. One of the circumstances is that during the uprising, all the inhabitants of the city will be killed by the gas, which will be released by airships armed with it. There have already been uprisings in Boston, Pittsburgh - as a result, all their inhabitants were poisoned. Meet Dana and Jack. Killed by Dana during her next outburst of anger. The Russian version is voiced by Sergei Chikhachev.

Homefront: The Revolution starts with an interrogation. Our brave partisans fell into the clutches of the evil Koreans who enslaved America. The hero and two of his comrades are tied to a chair, their lips are broken and bleeding, bright lamps make them squint. The knees are shaking - now the game will show us how the cold-blooded invaders split the freedom fighters!

A man comes in, a collaborator, he is strict and polite. Goosebumps run through the skin: now something will happen.

And then he orders to shoot one of the partisans in the head. Then, freaking out, he breaks another skull with a hammer and is going to kill the main character. I wonder how the occupiers manage to cover the cells of the partisans with such investigators? ..

But, of course, at the last moment, the hero - the eternally dumb Ethan Brady, who would still not say anything to anyone - is rescued.

Ten minutes pass. Invaders in front of Brady knit the leader of the resistance. The hero gets to the headquarters of the partisans, but the dumb-headed sentinels take him for a spy. They are preparing to torture, they are about to begin ... however, at the last second, one of the highest ranks enters the torture room. Suspicions? What suspicions? Of course it's not your fault. Here is our base, here we store weapons, and now go and help us solve all the problems.

This is how almost everything works in Homefront: The Revolution. Time after time, this game shows promising scenes, but fails right before the climax.

Reluctantly free

Take at least the open world - the central detail of The Revolution, set in opposition to the completely linear first homefront. He cleanly copies the world of the last parts Far Cry, but this is not the problem - the device and mechanics of such sandboxes are beaten, but tested over the years. And it’s not about the hateful capture of the “towers”, although besides him, open world there is, strictly speaking, nothing new Homefront.

The problem is, how these towers are captured.

Remember your first attempt to storm an enemy castle in . Not only bullets, but also mortar shells whistle over your ear, dozens of soldiers encircle you, the earth trembles from the tread of military vehicles that have already left for your soul, approaching helicopters roar ... No, such adventures do not shine for revolutionaries. Korean outposts are usually guarded by a dozen nearsighted guards stuck in the steps.

And there is no need to kill them. Just sneak into the enemy base and stomp towards the target. Hack the system by playing a primitive mini-game, turn the valve for a few seconds, restore electricity - resistance does not need more from you. Do this, and the game will forget about a dozen Koreans behind your back, pretend that they never existed, and populate the territory with peaceful guerrillas in eye-catching blue scarves. You don't need to shoot - a paradise for a pacifist. But why does he need a game about the revolution?

Do not worry about the fate of your hero - he will be rescued at the last moment. True, in ten minutes he will plunge again, but, what a surprise, he will be rescued again at the last moment. History will repeat itself over and over again. Oh those chosen ones!

If there is a rumble near the base, then the guards can sometimes in full force go to investigate a strange incident, leaving the outpost empty.

From time to time, the authorities throw up urgent, but optional tasks - protect the point, kill snipers, blow up enemy launchers. In addition to the hero, for some reason there is no one to do this, so if you ignore it, get ready to hear the heart-rending “oh my god, the Koreans killed everyone!” on the air. You must be ashamed.

In good sandboxes, it is not necessary to do such things - there is an open world in order for the player to feel freedom. But here's a pun: what freedom is, Homefront: The Revolution doesn't know. The game resorts to the worst trick that is typical for open-world games: makes the player to complete side quests to advance the story. Otherwise, they simply would not make sense.

Almost every trip to new zone begins with the "capture of the tower." However, it is one thing - the red zones, where the war is in full swing: there the battle for the tower of torment ends. Quite another thing is the yellow zones, where the Koreans maintain shaky discipline. Here you can’t get rid of towers alone, sooner or later there will be another plot partisan who will proudly declare: “It’s time to raise people to fight!” Of course, he won't go. You will have to grab all the side tasks in the area for an hour. Otherwise, no plot - be a good partisan!

Capturing points in the yellow zones is at least more interesting than in the red ones. Often you have to climb a lot and look for non-obvious ways to penetrate the desired territory.

But visiting the yellow zones I saw myself entertaining part games. As planned, here we should raise the collar higher, put our hands in our pockets and slide through the streets like a shadow, here and there causing problems for the regime.

You do that at first. The role of a cunning fighter with the system is exciting ... but pretty quickly you run into the limitations of the local stealth system. You can hide from the police in the garbage dump and throw distracting firecrackers on the street. Or awaken the child in you and use radio-controlled cars with explosives attached to tape to create havoc from a distance.

But after the explosion, the fighters of the Korean army will still come to high alert, and one of them will definitely be close to you, no doubt. So it turns out that even in a relatively peaceful zone, it is faster and easier to rush around, brandishing a machine gun.

At the climax of our fight against the regime, people will take to the streets and protest, beating cars, walls, trash cans and discarded couches in the alley with bats. But for some reason, the invaders rarely get it.

In the yellow zones, life is in full swing even in peacetime, residents are fussing and hurrying about their business. But it’s better not to peer into this anthill, otherwise you will soon begin to notice people digging asphalt, levitating a meter above the ground and sitting right in burning garbage cans.

But maybe it's for the best. Shooting is almost the only bright side games. Almost all guns feel good and sound quite convincing. In comparison with the plastic machines from the original, this is a significant step forward.

There are few samples of weapons: a pistol, a shotgun, a crossbow, a combat and assault rifle, a rocket launcher. For each gun (minus the rocket launcher), you can buy interchangeable modules that allow you to change its purpose on the go. A crossbow can be converted into a flamethrower in two clicks, an assault rifle can be “pumped” to a machine gun, and a combat rifle can be quickly converted into a sniper rifle. True, you can’t experiment - each gun has only three modifications.

It does not give any special emotions or tactical depth - all these modifications could be separate weapons which we would simply carry with us. But the way the character reworks the guns on the go, juicy clicking on the details, is just nice to watch. A small spectacular touch that helps the game to stay in memory for a while.

There is still a small element of freedom in handling weapons - almost every gun can be customized by screwing on the target designator, sights and other small things.

It's a pity that this beauty has to be fired at stupid Koreans who can get lost between two garbage cans. And it's not just stupidity. AI often crashes, and sometimes enemies ignore you altogether. Or they suddenly stop firing and rush somewhere towards the horizon. Their brains wake up only in staged episodes, where all the fighters are carefully placed in the right places. There, they begin to act meaningfully, cover each other, hide behind their own military equipment and smoke the player out of cover with grenades.

But such skirmishes are only a rare pleasant exception. Most story missions you still need to do exactly the same as in the open world. Directing traces are visible only in a couple of episodes from the entire ten-hour campaign. Most of the skirmishes make one wonder how these fools even managed to take over the States.

The face of the revolution

What turned out great is that in which the DPRK makes a technological leap and becomes the leading world power. The United States buys weapons from a Korean corporation to wage senseless and thoughtless wars in the Middle East. When the country ran out of money, the government went into debt, took loans from Korea, and continued to send citizens to war. It was precisely because of the debts of the DPRK that they invaded the States, taking the territory of the debtors into their hands. Therefore, when comrades-in-arms begin to mutter about the cruel Koreans who dishonorably took away their freedom, I want to laugh in their faces.

Partisan life (that part of it that does not concern active partisanship) the developers drew very convincingly. Dirty fighters in tattered clothes hide in basements littered with rubbish and garbage, and it's quite entertaining to look at the shelters of the resistance.

The only adequate character in the whole story is seen only as the "villain" Mayor Simpson, who cooperates with the Koreans.

And who can be raised to fight by such stupid leaders? The leader of the rebels in the very first minutes of the game alone tries to save the main character (why?) And falls into the clutches of the Koreans. The leaders of individual cells do not act at all and are always asking for help from our boss, and his right hand, Dana Moore, does nothing but torture the captured Koreans. The guerrillas constantly endanger civilians, act thoughtlessly and bring more and more troubles to their hometown.

There is no desire to participate in this, and the moral side of the issue has nothing to do with it - you just don’t want to repeat the stupidity of your insane bosses, clearly realizing it. The leaders of the uprising in Philadelphia are not able to plan at all and simply do everything that comes into their head, and having openly stirred up a couple of Korean bases, they are sincerely surprised that the occupiers send punitive detachments and more diligently open partisan cells.

Revolutions do not happen without charismatic leaders who inspire people, and a tangible image of the enemy, which must be overcome for the sake of a brighter future. Homefront doesn't have either. The Korean invaders do not seem to be invaders at all, and it is quite difficult to imagine where the States would be without them in the conditions that the game paints. Well, local revolutionaries are needed only to appear in the frame for a minute and send the silent hero to clean up another point on the map.

After the motivational video, cut-scenes will follow, from which the general state of affairs will become clear.

After completing all the cut-scenes, familiarize yourself with the game interface:

All useful information you can find on your smartphone, for example, in a notepad you can find information about mobile applications.

Find the Resistance Cache

Get out of the apartment through the window, and then go through the streets to the marker of the main task. You can identify a hideout with blue paint, which is how resistance marks secret passages and hotspots. Climbing up to the second floor of the apartment, you will find yourself in a hiding place.

Take a bolt cutter on the table, you can use it to bite through the locks. Also do not forget to pick up a flashlight that lies on the mattress.

Find the nearest KPA transceiver

After examining the cache, exit the building and go to the marker. Cross the road and go into the house, after passing it, you will find yourself near retail outlets - in them you can sell valuable items found for game currency. Go further down the street and go into the alley, here you will have a snack on the fence locks.

First you need to get into the house, for this go along the path marked with blue paint. On the wall you will find the transmitter by hacking the network transmitters, on the map you will be shown the nearest points of interest. To hack the transmitter, open the panel - key [E] and, by moving the mouse, decrypt the KPA access code.

After the cut-scene, the task will be completed.

New Resident of Philadelphia

Find the entrance to the Tunnel of Resistance

After unlocking the receiver, you can use the application - " Beacon". As a result of hacking, you will find the entrance to the tunnel, and it will be marked with a marker on the map. Get out of the house and run down the street to the marker, go around the building and run to the entrance.

Clear the rubble blocking the entrance to the tunnel go through the tunnel

Turn on the flashlight and search the house, then go down below. To destroy the boxes, hit them with a knife.

Climb through the hole, and then go down into the tunnel. Once in the subway, turn on the generator and go into the train car.

Run along the destroyed train cars until you see a hole in the wall on the right. Go through the tunnel.

Welcome to the Resistance

At the end of all cut-scenes, follow Jack Parrish. He will give you a tour of the resistance base and bring you up to date, you will also receive your first weapon - it can be immediately modified if you have necessary components. After issuing weapons, you will be sent to the first combat mission.

But before you leave the shelter, take the components on the table and connect them - you get Molotov cocktail. Now you can move out.

risky venture

Meet the Dana Moore Squad

After understanding the crafting game system, go through the tunnel to the marker. Climb to the roof of the building and talk to Dana.

After talking with her, go with your partner to the indicated place:

Wait for the right moment to surprise the PRC patrol. When Dana gives the signal, drop the barrels and fire at them to destroy the enemy APC.

Join Dana Moore

Get down and clear the street of enemies, then go to the place where the marker points. Because you don't have good weapons, it is best to avoid enemy patrols. When you reach the right place, you will receive $500 as a reward.

Robot for a hacker

Get to the KPA transceiver in Elmtree

After receiving the coordinates from Dana on your smartphone, get on the bike that is in the van. Or you can go on foot, but it will be much longer and more dangerous.

Next to the container you can find useful items (first aid kit and ammo). While driving, try to avoid open areas and patrols. In an open area, you are an easy target for any enemies, and patrols can deprive you of transport (blow up, knock you off it).

After arriving at the indicated place, climb the containers above and go into the warehouse. You will have a transmitter in front of you, you are already familiar with the principle of hacking it, so there should be no problems. By hacking the transmitter, you will learn about the local territory capture system. After that, you should have enough for a machine gun ($600), you can buy it in a locker nearby.

Go to Ned's armory

Now you need to fight your way through the KPA outposts towards your objective. You can do this in several ways:

  • take a bike and rush through armed patrols - there is a risk of being killed.
  • plant explosives in vulnerable spot(you will be pointed out) and follow this path - a less fun way.

Go to the marker and go through the car, in the building you need to talk to Nedom. This will end the mission.

AWOL

Find the missing patrol

After talking with Ned, go to the top floor and take the bombs on the table. Such bombs will be useful in combat against armored vehicles.

Armed, go to the marker on the map. Along the way, you will come across outposts, transmitters, and more. Be sure to capture and hack them. You will have to do this in order to go further in the story. Your main goal is the hangar, which was filled with Chinese fighters.

Here it is better to avoid a frontal attack, as an armored vehicle patrols the area. Find good cover and ambush your opponents. After you dealt with everyone, talk to the wounded resistance fighter.

City in chains

Meet Ned at Earlston Yellow Zone

On the way to the goal, you will have to pass by several outposts, do not miss the opportunity and capture them on the way to the underground parking. Having reached the right place, go down below and go through the tunnel to Ned.

After talking with the commander, go up to the second floor and take firecrackers They are needed for distraction.

Hack the KPA transceiver

Now you need to go through the yellow zone to your goal. The yellow zone has a number of differences, in such zones it is important to act covertly and try to avoid open collisions. You will not be able to go to the indicated point with a weapon in your hands, shooting all the patrolmen, sooner or later you will be killed. Therefore, hide your weapons away and avoid patrols, try to move further through nooks and crannies and dark places. Also, do not forget about secondary tasks such as: hack the radio or grab something.

The transmitter you need is located on the second floor of the shelter, to get to it, climb through the second floor window. By hacking the radio transmitter, the mission will be completed.

Hearts and minds

All you need to do is carry out various sabotage (destroy equipment, transmitters) and help people. If you have previously done this, then most likely the scale will already be filled, but if not, then open the map and do everything in a row.

This task will not be difficult if you proceed carefully. When the scale is full, go to the indicated shelter.

Here you need to approach the table and activate the radio. After that, the task will be completed and you will receive a small reward.

peace-loving man

Talk to Burnett in the hospital

Get out of the shelter and head to the indicated marker. Barnett will send you to the KPA warehouse for medical supplies, it is located at the other end of the zone.

When you get to the right place, you will find yourself at the gate, which can be hacked using a special hacking device. This device can be found nearby, in an abandoned apartment. Having received the necessary device, return to the locked gate.

Eliminate KPA fighters and get medical supplies

Throw it into the castle, after that try to act covertly, there are a lot of opponents here, and they can easily bypass you. After neutralizing all opponents, go inside and search the truck.

15th precinct

Infiltrate the police station

Run to the specified point on the map, along the way you can do secondary tasks. Near the police station there will be a crowd of rebellious people, to the left of the crowd there will be a passage to the station.

Focus your attention on eliminating stormtroopers from a safe distance. After eliminating them, you can go inside, but be careful. Inside you will meet strong resistance from the Koreans, besides there will be two armored soldiers, it is desirable to eliminate them as quickly as possible. After clearing the area, go to the ventilation and blow it up to go further.

Hack the computer inside to open the interrogation room. After the cut-scene, return to the resistance base, this will complete the task.

hour zero

Get into Ned's armory

Before you go to the meeting point, grab the RPG, it can be found on the table by the exit.

Having reached the arsenal, take a comfortable and advantageous position. You need to hold back the attack of the infantry, which storms the arsenal. You also need to destroy armored vehicles, RPG will help you with this.

Protect trucks while they are being loaded

After fighting off the Koreans, go to the other side and take a comfortable position for defense.

Using an RPG, clear the area (it's better to use a shotgun or machine gun). If you run out of ammo, you can replenish it near the barricades. After a while it will seem Goliath” is a very powerful armored vehicle, but it is vulnerable to grenade launchers. If you run out of rockets, you can climb into one of the buildings and drop explosive barrels, blowing them up, you will inflict huge damage on the car. After neutralizing the car, go up to it and remove the "brain", then leave the area. Breaking away from the pursuers, talk to Barnett in the subway. When the cut-scenes are over, you will receive a large reward and complete the task.

Ashgate Man

Get to the Holloway Red Zone

Before you go on a mission, be sure to drop by the gunsmith and buy supplies, body kits for weapons. On the way to the marker do side missions(break-in, capture). At the specified location, you will talk to Crawford.

After finishing the conversation with him, the task will be completed, and you will receive $1200 as a reward.

Source

Reach the railroad leading to Fir Hill

The place you need will be at the other end of the zone, it is quite far and the path will not be too safe. The best way out of this situation is a moped, but you can not find it nearby, so take the opportunity to complete side tasks along the way.

You do not need to look for a rise to the railway, you need to climb onto the roof of the building. You can climb to the roof by scaffolding, which are adjacent to the wall of the house.

Stop the train with the hacking device and drain the security codes

Pick up a throwable hacking device and throw it at the train as it passes by. If it stops far from the roof, approach it and wait for the files to finish downloading.

Hack Scanners

Now you need to hack the KPA security scanners, all three are in different parts cards:

  1. Located in the middle of the zone and will be closest to you. The scanner itself is located on a tower, guarded by drones and cameras. Try to avoid unnecessary attention and climb onto the roof of the building, which is located next to the tower. From the roof of the building, you can jump to the tower and get to the scanner, you just have to hack it.
  2. It is located in the south of the zone and this time under the protection of a detachment of enemies who took refuge in the building. Next to this building, you can climb onto the roof of another and go to the desired building along the platform. Deal with the Koreans and hack the scanner.
  3. Located in the northern part of the zone, this time it will be unguarded. Climb onto the building and, moving along the left side, climb up to the scanner and hack it.

If you can't get to the scanners or you are stuck in some building on the way to it, look for places marked with blue paint, following such signs, you will reach the goal without any problems.

Turn on the maintenance system

After hacking all the scanners, go to the target marker.

Use the elevator. Unfortunately, it will be out of order, so go to the loader and throw a hacking device at it, now you can climb higher and activate the terminal. After the cutscene, follow Crawford, you will enter a new area and the task will be completed.

Cell brains

Reach the resistance hideout

After arriving in the yellow zone of Ashgate, do not rush into battle. It is not advisable to engage in open confrontation, hide your weapons and try to avoid patrols. Based on the mini-map, go to the nearest shelter. Here you need to find Wylie and give him the brain of the Goliath.

After a short cut-scene, the task will be completed. You will receive $900 as a reward.

Who seeks will always find

Attention! Before you go on this mission, buy a silencer for a weapon or a crossbow. If you do not have money for them, it is better to do side missions and earn the required amount. Otherwise, you will have to fight off patrols that will come to the sound of gunshots.

Finding these "hounds" will be difficult, but you will be marked the places of their possible appearance. The first place will be near the shelter, go there and find a flying drone there, try not to attract attention during its destruction. Although it will be very long and difficult task, but this is a great chance to free the zone by completing side tasks.

Also pay attention to the mini-map, drones are highlighted in red on it. After you collect all the details, return to Heather. You will receive $1200 as a reward.

Informant

Meet Crawford at his apartment

Your goal will be near the shelter, the entrance to the apartment will be through the red door. Crawford will be waiting for you on the third floor, after talking to him, go to Sunderland. Having reached the desired house, go up to the third floor using the fire escape, first destroy the cameras to avoid detection.

The necessary documents are stored in a safe under the table, after picking them up, go to the marker on the mini-map.

Identify Sunderland discreetly using your phone's camera

Once in the restricted area, destroy the cameras and patrolling soldiers. After that, you can safely find your target.

Attention! If you are spotted, the mission will fail. You also shouldn't kill innocent people.

After finding the right person (in the screenshot above), wait for a positive identification. Silently kill him and return to Crawford.

Power to the people!

Achieve 100% reading on the Hearts and Minds scale

All you need to do is carry out various sabotage (destroy equipment, transmitters) and help people. If you have previously done this, then most likely the scale will already be filled, if not, then open the map and do everything in a row.

This task will not be difficult if you proceed carefully. When the scale is full, go to the indicated shelter. Here you need to approach the table and activate the radio. After that, the task will be completed and you will receive $1650 as a reward.

identity theft

Get to the police station

Chaos reigns in the streets, this is a great opportunity for the resistance forces. You need to get to the nearest police station, for this go to the yellow marker on the mini-map. Getting into the building is not difficult, the main entrance is open to you, and there are very few guards in the yard.

After fighting off the guards, go up the stairs and enter the building where the marker points. Here you need to destroy the fan with explosives.

Hack the console to finish off the list of shipyard workers

After climbing inside, go down the stairs and go to room number 3. Here, approach one of the servers and hack it to get the data.

After that, meet Parrish at the hideout.

Undercover work

Meet Crawford's agent and find your gear

After watching all the cut-scenes, follow Parrish. When you arrive at the checkpoint, you will need to show your pass.

Once inside the military base, go to the yellow marker. After talking with the agent, you need to find a way to get to "Area A", where your equipment is located. To do this, go to the yellow marker, and once at the locked gate, you need to collect the components for the hacking device. To get started, climb onto the scaffolding (they will be to your right), there will be “Chemical reagents” in the container, then follow the signs on the walls in the form of arrows and an “X” or a chest.

Thus, you will have to collect all the "Chemical reagents", and you can find the "battery" in the process, or if you follow the signs (in the dumpster or in the basement). After collecting the hacking device, go to the yellow marker, near the gate, throw the device on the control panel to open the gate. Behind the gate, search the crate to get your equipment.

Find the deactivated Goliath

Your ally has set off an alarm so you can run to the Goliath, don't ruin such an easy opportunity, it's better to hide your weapon here and run to the marker. If you arouse suspicion among the KPA fighters, you will have to fight with a large squad. Having reached the indicated place, insert the altered brain into the Goliath. After that, you will need to take a comfortable position and fight off the advancing enemies for some time. When the new firmware is installed, you will need to escort the armored vehicles to the exit. After the cutscene, the mission will be completed and you will receive your reward.

Aggressive expansion

Get to the base station

After the cut-scene, go to the entrance to the tunnel, which will lead you to the red zone. But before entering, be sure to take a gas mask, which will lie on the shelf to your right.

When you surface, wear a gas mask to avoid death from the poisoned air. On the surface you will have a yellow marker, it is to him that you need to move. This area is full of enemy units, including armored vehicles. Therefore, the best option for passing this place would be stealth. Do not engage in open combat, make your way through the abandoned buildings to the indicated place. A good tactical decision would be to capture a strike point that is close to your target.

The marker will lead you to a fortified KPA base, your task is to get inside and commit sabotage. You can do this in two ways:

  1. Destroy the ventilation grill in one of the walls and get into the base territory - it is better to deal with the enemy convoy that is patrolling the vicinity of the base.
  2. Taking a motorcycle and finding a springboard, fly over the walls of the base - before that, it is advisable to remove the snipers from the walls.

Once inside, deal with the main enemy forces, then find the valve. It is located in the center of the base on the second tier, you can go up there by stairs.

By turning the valve, you will raise the pressure of the pipes, which will lead to the destruction of the base. On this task will be completed, and you will receive a reward of $ 2000.

Goliath earned!

Destroy the "Dusters"

After talking to Heather at the resistance base, head outside. Your task is to destroy installations that spray poisonous gas. There are five installations in total, their location will be updated on the map. And plus, you will have "Goliath" as your assistants.

Before you go on a mission, make sure you have enough ammo, weapons, missiles and explosives. During the mission, try not to deviate far from the Goliath. Arriving at the indicated places, deal with the guards and destroy the installations, so you need to do this five times.

Glitched technique

Find the Goliath Schematics

After completing the last task, return to the shelter and talk to Heather. After the conversation, head to the indicated place, it will be marked on your mini-map. The building you need will be surrounded by an enemy KPA unit, so you'll have to deal with them first. After clearing the area, you need to find documents that are hidden in the ceiling.

After you find them, take a photo of them with your phone and send them to Heather. After that, return to Parrish. When you arrive at the place, the task will begin " Forced Volunteer”, after the cut-scene, this task will be completed and you will receive a new one.

The rescue

Open the perimeter gate without being seen

After receiving the second level access card on your phone, open the cell door and exit. The whole territory is well protected, and you are deprived of your weapons. Therefore, it is extremely important to act covertly and carefully, if you are discovered, the mission will fail.

After eliminating the first guard, turn left and move towards the marker. Take a bolt cutter in one of the containers (see the screenshot). After that, move to the control panel, while you need to hide in the shadows to avoid detection. After eliminating the guard, press the button to open the gate to the allies.

Survive the KPA trap

After getting your equipment, go to the courthouse. After the cut-scene, you will have to fight off a large number of opponents. Take a comfortable position and shoot back from enemies until your reinforcements arrive. When a pickup truck pulls up, jump in and drive away.

KPA strikes back

Help the resistance fighters

After the cut-scene, run to the red zone Lombard. Before you go out, make sure you have enough supplies and medical supplies. In this task, you will have to help your allies, who are pinned down by enemy soldiers. In total, you will need to visit three places, each will be marked with a yellow marker on the mini-map. Having reached the indicated place, try to go behind the enemies and eliminate them from a position convenient for you. Also, don't forget about enemy snipers, who can hide in buildings and conduct aimed fire at you.

After you visit three places where your help is needed, you will be sent to the subway. Here you will not be able to stop the onslaught of enemy vehicles, so you will receive an order to retreat. Return to the resistance base and talk to Parrish.

great escape

Find the entrance to the tunnel

After talking with the leaders of the resistance, go to the Old City. Here you need to find the tunnel that leads to the prison. On the way you can meet a large number of vehicles, it is better to avoid them. But do not hesitate to capture impact points, this will at least bring you money and various materials. Closer to the prison you will encounter enemy patrols, they should also be avoided. Your priority task will be to kill the snipers who are sitting on the roofs of buildings, after that you can do patrols and calmly look for the desired tunnel.

The entrance to the tunnel will be in one of the buildings through a hole in the floor. If you try to open the door, it will not work for you, but the task will be completed.

Not the best escape

Hack the KPA transceiver

After receiving a new task, go to the yellow marker. Arriving at the indicated place, you need to climb to the second floor of the building. To do this, find the building to which the scaffolding is attached.

After climbing this building, go to the next one by air conditioning outlets. After that, climb into the building by knocking out the boards in the window.

Find the prisoners

After you hack the transmitter, you will receive information about the possible location of the escaped prisoners. The distant marker will lead you to the prisoner. After talking with him, look for the others, they will be at the docks, not far from you. You will find them in one of the white containers, in the eastern part of the docks. After talking to the fugitives, you need to find a work boat. It is located in the northern part of the docks, but enemy units are patrolling there. After clearing the area, go to the marker. To get close to the boat, you need to start the generator, you can do this by climbing higher, use the moped to start the engine. Having obtained the boat, you will receive an access code to the tunnel, go there. By opening the door, the task will be completed and you will receive a reward.

Mal, go away...

Find a shelter

Go through the tunnel until you find the corpse of a prisoner. Change into his uniform to enter the prison area. Once in restricted area, go to the yellow marker on the mini-map. He will lead you to the hideout, which can be accessed at this location:

Once in the shelter, follow the instructions of your interlocutor, otherwise he will kill you. After the conversation, the mission will be completed and you will receive $2000.
In this challenge, you can play Time Splitters 2.

Free Creativity / Crowd Weapon

Get a list of prisoners

After the cut-scene, you will need to get information about the prisoners, which is located in one of the fortified positions of the KPA. The area in which the task will take place is well guarded, both by ordinary guards and by armored vehicles. Therefore, before setting off, check your equipment, replenish ammunition and buy first-aid kits. Even if you are well armed, you should not engage in an open and protracted battle, it is better to act covertly.

Follow the marker and grab the data. After that, you need to release the prisoners. In total, you will need to visit three places, each is practically unguarded, but when you start lowering the cameras, the alarm will go up. If you're playing on hard difficulty, it's best to clear the area of soldiers and deactivate the alarm, on other difficulty levels, it's quickest to just kill the arriving units. When the last prisoner is rescued, the mission will be completed and you will be rewarded with $3500.

After the cut-scene, a new task will begin " Weapons of the crowd", which is similar to the task "".

fourth horseman

Infiltrate a maximum security prison

Your task is to free the prisoner who is in a maximum security prison. Go to the indicated place, following the marker, on the spot you will not meet strong resistance from the KPA, but there will be heavily armed soldiers and armored vehicles closer to your target, a grenade launcher will come in handy against them. After clearing the area of enemies, climb the stairs above. Go to the sign and go through the pipe, after destroying the fan.

Once in the building, open the red doors, hack the panel right behind them to free your target. After that, return to Parrish, when you talk to him, the task will be completed.

roll of the dice

Use the window cradle to climb onto the TV center roof

Attention! Starting from this quest, you will not be able to complete side tasks and explore other areas. Before you go on a mission, be sure to refill your ammo and buy new weapons, as this will be one of the last opportunities to buy or upgrade weapons.

After talking with Parrish, go to the elevator doors and go up to the roof. Once you're on the roof, run towards the marker. Along the way, you will need to use the leaf cutter to open the door. After that, run to the marker and wait there until the cradle is lowered to you.

Climbing higher, go to the panel and crack it, having previously dealt with the guards.

Infiltrate the town hall

Now run to the edge of the building, where the cable is stretched, along it you will get into the building. Once on the roof of the town hall, take a comfortable position and kill enemy fighters while the hack is in progress. When the hack is over, go with Parrish to the mayor's office and capture him. After the cut-scene, the task will be completed.

Consequences / Drone too far

Plot

background

Korea invaded the US. All the weapons that were bought from Korea were remote-controlled, and she, by "pressing a button", turned off all the weapons that were in the US Army. Korea easily captured a helpless country that could not defend itself and occupied it.

Main game

The game takes place in the city of Philadelphia in 2029. The main character is a member of the American Resistance, Ethan Brady. Resistance forces are trying to liberate the city from the KPA.

The Voice of Freedom (DLC)

The events of the add-on are a prequel to the main game and develop shortly before the start of the storyline.

Events are described from the perspective of Benjamin Walker. He, along with a small group of rebels, gets to the outskirts of Philadelphia in a stolen K.N.A. The group manages to fight them off, but the armored car is destroyed, two members of the group - Abby Baker and Billy Randall - are killed, and the firefight attracted the attention of K.N.A. subway, where the same gang settled. Due to the dense cordon of K.N.A., the only way to the city goes along the metro line, but the branch that goes into the city is blocked by a non-functioning automatic door. While the couple fix the cable, Ben and Vance look for a generator for the door. In the end, they find him, but are forced to shoot back from the bandits. The situation is complicated by the fact that K.N.A. in the area above this metro line, non-residential buildings are being demolished, which is why the tunnels begin to collapse. Walker manages to start the generator and escape the blockage.

After opening the door, the squad moves on and soon comes to the surface, however, in the middle of the Korean checkpoint. A firefight ensues and the Koreans call for reinforcements. To save herself, Jill tells Walker to drop them and go down the garbage chute. Walker reluctantly agrees and leaves.

The last frames of the add-on are an interactive scene through the eyes of Walker, where he still goes to Harvey's address, but is late - K.N.A. got to him first. Walker sequentially kills all the patrolmen, and then breaks into the interrogation room (from the opening scene of the game) and kills the American collaborator. Walker comes face to face with Harvey's only surviving henchman, who turns out to be Brady, and tells him that it's time for them to get out of here.

Aftermath (DLC)

The expansion events are a continuation of the main game.

2 weeks after the capture of Philadelphia, K.N.A. trying to recapture the city from the rebels. The situation is further complicated by the fact that about 40 people have deserted from the Resistance. Parrish and Cook blame this on Walker, who has now become a propaganda tool for the K.N.A., undermining the morale of the rebels with his speech. Both leaders of the resistance come to the conclusion that Walker must be killed, but Brady believes that he can still be saved. Parrish doubts the success of this plan, but gives Ethan the go-ahead for the operation.

Brady goes to the radio station, where the invaders are supposed to be broadcasting, in order to find Walker. He breaks in and makes his way to the studio, but Walker is not there - just a terminal broadcasting a recording of his address. Brady hacks into the terminal and sends a data stream to the Resistance, after which he is forced to flee the besieged radio station.

After some time, Parrish contacts Brady and says that he found out where Walker is now: he is being held in a chemical factory, not far from the radio station. He also broadcasts to Brady the found audiologist, from which it becomes clear that Walker was forced to cooperate with K.N.A., as they poisoned him with drugs and killed ordinary people in front of him, which shook his psyche. Parrish makes it clear that he now agrees with Brady - Walker must be saved at all costs.

Brady sneaks into the plant and sneaks into the cell block, where he finds a half-dead Walker. He attacks Ethan in delirium, preparing to kill him, but comes to his senses in time. Ethan helps him out. A little later, Cook joins them, having hijacked a K.N.A. combat helicopter, which greatly facilitated the task of the rebels. Brady and Walker break through to the landing pad and fly away with Cook. In the air, Walker ironically remarks that K.N.A. will not say hello, because the "Voice of Freedom" is ready to return ...

Beyond the Wall (DLC)

The events of this add-on continue the plot of the main game and are an epilogue to the story of Ethan Brady.

After an indefinite period of time, riots in other cities were suppressed, and the Philadelphia cell was again forced to go underground. Brady returns from patrol, finding Parrish and the rest of the rebels preparing to evacuate. But Parrish shares his discovery with the wanderers - radio operators caught a signal on emergency frequencies, where a certain woman calls for help, introducing herself as a soldier from the N.A.T.O. The rebels manage to escape. Parrish instructs Brady to find the source of the signal and find out about support from N.A.T.O.

Brady finds out. that the signal was coming from a church outside the city, and that a Korean patrol was already stationed there. After dealing with the invaders, Brady finds the source, which turned out to be a woman named Lisa Burnell. She told Ethan that she, as part of the special forces, got here from Europe on a special assignment that will help turn the outcome of the war in America's favor, but asks him to help with this. To do this, she needs to steal a car with special equipment, which her squad left near an abandoned roadside diner. After killing the patrolmen, Ethan finds a car with strange cases. Lisa explains that one of them contains a nuclear warhead, which her squad was supposed to deliver to a secret U.S.A. missile base disguised as a farm: if you launch a warhead from there into space and blow it up, then an electromagnetic pulse will burn out the K army satellites. N.A., by making their system of stationary guns defenseless - then the European Union will be able to land troops and help the Resistance retake America back.

Ethan and Lisa infiltrate the base, but the missile silo is damaged and unusable. Ethan contacts Parish and, having outlined the situation to him, asks, along with reinforcements, to deliver spare parts to repair the installation. Parish replies that he has already sent reinforcements to them, but Brady must destroy the KNA coastal guns. Having finished with them, Brady accompanies the rebels to the base, where they take up defensive positions and repair the installation.

The base is attacked by a large detachment of K.N.A., and the rebels are forced to fight back. Lisa says that the hatch of the mine is jammed, and it can only be opened from the inside. Ethan descends into the shaft and prepares to manually open it, after which he tells Lisa to launch the rocket. However, she cannot decide to launch - otherwise Ethan will die. The Koreans break into the control room and kill Lisa, but before she dies, she still gives the ignition. The rocket launches successfully, but Ethan is burned to death.

The epilogue shows how the rocket flies into space, destroying Korean satellites, and Parrish on the radio addresses all the rebels, urging them to once again take up arms against the invaders.
