PlanetSide 2 is one of the greatest games in the history of the genre, with thousands of soldiers on the same battlefield, tanks, aircraft, and more. Battlefield 3 was released in late 2011 for PC, PS3 and Xbox360. She was warmly received by ordinary players, critics and fans of the series. To begin with, let's briefly plunge into history: the original Star Wars: Battlefront, released at the beginning of the 2000s, more precisely, in 2004, was actually a copy of another well-known multiplayer game that came out two years earlier - we are talking about Battlefield 1942. despite such similarities, the project became successful and formed a whole circle fans, which numbered more than one tens of thousands of players. Such an excellent result naturally led to the fact that almost twelve months later, on October 31, 2005, the world saw a sequel ...

Your attention is a game that was born to put the HALO series on the shoulder blades. Before the release of Killzone: Shadow Fall, she clearly did not succeed in this, and it is not a fact that after the release she lived up to expectations. Let's see.
Briefly about the plot, that is, there are two factions: the hilgast are like Nazis in gas masks and vektans are brave Americans in shining armored suits.

From the first minutes it is clear that the game is made at the world level. Already the first scene at the Ostankovskaya Tower is filled with an ominous atmosphere and darkness to the point of goosebumps.
Metro 2033 has a very viscous, really creepy atmosphere in which you feel comfortable and you start playing not for the sake of the plot, but for interest - well, what's next. I want to study the world more deeply, immerse myself in it and become a part of it.

Battlefield 4 continues the series of impressive first-person shooters that are famous for their awesome multiplayer. The game is available for next generation (Xbox One and PlayStation 4), as well as PC, PS3, Xbox360, WII U and Wii. Realizing that the graphical part of the game is very important for today's generation of gamers, in the campaign, the developers singled out the main part for it.

Metro has a powerful credibility with the Russian-speaking player, which rests on two pillars - post-apocalyptic romance, which is especially appreciated in our area, and the second factor is the feeling of an unusual atmosphere with bright droplets of the Slavic soul. And so Metro last light gets great reviews and ratings from Western publications, but in fact there is still much to discuss.

It’s always unpleasant for supporters of the original when the wrong people take on the continuation, perhaps that’s why only the lazy did NOT dig BioShock 2 for the lack of novelty, so it’s doubly nice that BioShock Infinite fell into the hands of the creators of the original. Users search similar to Call of Duty games s, as this series is characterized by high dynamics and almost always an interesting plot. Some parts from the line are deservedly considered cult, because they gave unforgettable emotions. That is why all fans of these games should know similar projects in order to try to go through them on their own.

Main competitor

For more than five years, the Battlefield series has stood out as the main competitor among Call of Duty-like games. Starting with part of Bad Company 2, the developers began to create interesting campaigns that are designed for joint or single passage. The same trend was repeated in the third and fourth parts, although they are such only in name, and not in number. The latest draft of the series about the First World War showed a really high-quality plot and the realism of a military shooter. At the same time, the projects of the DICE studio have always been aimed at multiplayer battles. There are maps for 64 and 32 players with full destructibility and a huge arsenal of weapons.

Trying to compete

The Medal of Honor series partially falls into the category of Call of Duty-like games. It is much smaller in the number of projects, but there is some similarity. The first parts were made in the spirit of realism and tell about the Second World War. After the release of the successful part of Airborn in 2007, nothing was heard about shooters from this line for three years.

In 2010, there was an attempt to restart the franchise. The emphasis in this project was on entertainment and story, as in all parts of Call of Duty at that moment. The story was about a special forces unit in Afghanistan and confronting terrorist forces. The project came out too raw and received enough negative reviews. Despite this, the developers are releasing a sequel to the restart of Warfighter. In it, the bet was made on the most accurate display of past military operations and the social component. These two games may not appeal to all fans of the shooter genre, but they are definitely worth checking out as they are in the AAA class of work and can offer some interesting gameplay elements.

Tactics and dynamism

Similar games on Call of Duty do not completely copy the style of this series, because no one in the community would approve of this. Some projects are similar in elements and are able to fill the time waiting for the next part of your favorite line. This list includes all rainbow games Six, which are already considered classics in terms of tactical battles. Shooters demonstrate the importance of teamwork, and main character should also perform the function of commander. He must give orders to the members of the squad and plan skirmishes with enemies. It is not necessary to do this, you can break through the crowds of enemies on your own. It is because of this feature that the series is included in the list of games similar to Call of Duty.

Projects Vegas in two parts and the new part of Siege received high marks from critics and the gaming community. They are the best choice in replacing Call of Honor with a tactical component. Developed locations, high level artificial intelligence and big choice weapons - all this will appeal to fans of the genre.

Console Exclusive

Not all similar games Call of Duty was released for personal computers. The Halo series throughout its existence remained exclusive to the Xbox console, with the exception of the first part, which was nevertheless published on the PC. This franchise is the most popular game on this console, the third part broke many records in terms of the number of sales. All this is largely due to interesting plot and quality gameplay. The user takes on the role of a super soldier who fights on the side of the people in the war against the Covenant. In the course of passing through any of the parts, the player will be offered interesting missions, a variety of weapons, and trips by transport. It's all seasoned colorful graphics unique fictional world.

The series is able to give no less emotions than the "Call of Honor", each owner of the Xbox must see for himself. The Halo line falls into the category of games similar to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare due to similar dynamics and exciting adventures.

Horror and shooter rolled into one

If you take similar PC games to Call of Duty, then you should definitely mention F.E.A.R. In the projects of this series, the developers have focused on the atmosphere of fear and tension, but this does not diminish the brilliance of the shootings. These are no longer military shooters, like most of the aforementioned masterpieces. Here, events revolve around a girl named Alma, who has anomalous abilities and poses a threat to all mankind.

The user is part of an elite squad, where fighters have enhanced reflexes and due to this they can slow down time around them. The main goal is to find out all the circumstances of the case with Alma and capture the target. The first and second parts were focused on horror, but the third is more like a shooter. Here it is possible to go through the story together and even choose a character for yourself. All three projects have received very positive feedback from game publishers and deserve attention.

The best of the best.

Call Of Duty is one of the biggest brands in gaming, known for its huge selection of weapons, heart-pounding action that even the Terminator would envy, and incredibly addictive multiplayer mode. Of course, multiplayer skirmishes are not without drawbacks. There are bound to be a couple of annoying snipers on any map, but that's something you can live with because of the addictive gameplay. But which games in the series are worth adding to your collection? You will find the answer below.

One of the World War II-themed ones was the first sequel from Infinity Ward (and the first game in the series for the Xbox 360). Perhaps now it looks a little outdated, but it was in it that the foundation of the mechanics familiar to us was laid. There were three action-packed campaigns in the game (the history of Soviet soldiers stood out in particular), where the action did not slow down even for a second. The multiplayer was also memorable, especially the Search and Destroy mode.

It is worth noting the outstanding graphics for those times, as well as the high frame rate (which was rare for games on the Xbox 360). The second part is noticeably inferior to those presented below, but this does not mean that it does not deserve attention. In addition, the game even runs on the Xbox One console, so that all history buffs will be able to immerse themselves in the events of half a century ago.

The last shooter from Treyarch on the same theme of World War II was remembered by everyone not so much for the story campaign as for zombie Nazis. It was originally conceived as a fun easter egg, but eventually grew into one of the most recognizable COD modes. The tense defense against endless waves of zombies in close quarters fits perfectly with the pace set by the game. But we can not say that the main campaign and multiplayer failed.

The setting of World At War looked fresh, especially after Modern Warfare, where the events took place in our time. One of the most interesting episodes of the game was the capture of the Reichstag, where we hoisted the Soviet flag on its roof. The multiplayer turned out to be quite high-quality, although it was lost among the rest of the representatives of the series. It first featured a companion dog, to which the series has returned more than once.

It was a mini-reboot of the series after the frankly weak Ghosts. AT Advanced Warfare for the first time, the setting of the near future and the character's double jumps were introduced. Sledgehammer's studio debut, while drawing on the charisma of Kevin Spacey, retains the adrenaline-pumping levels that have long been hallmark brand.

To please the action, futuristic gadgets were also introduced, including an automatic grappling hook. And the variety of weapons in multiplayer forced many to spend several weeks in it, pumping the machines they liked. A beautiful debut by Sledgehammer, laying the groundwork for her future projects.

Treyarch's Black Ops trilogy is the weirdest installment in the series, but that's what makes it interesting. In the second part of this trilogy, we saw how COD experimented for the first (and so far the last) time with a system of multiple endings. Decisions made at certain levels can drastically change the direction of an evolving story, adding depth to it.

For many, this was the reason to play the game a few more times in order to open all available endings. But much more important were innovations in multiplayer, where the Pick 10 system appeared, which gave more opportunities for customizing weapons and hero skills. And even if not every of the proposed innovations has taken root in the series, this game is still worth familiarizing yourself with: experimental solutions here coexist with time-tested mechanics.

The concept of COD in the distant future seemed pretentious at first, but Black Ops 3 turned out to be surprisingly great. The story here is not much like a second-rate action movie, but the ability to play four more than makes up for all the shortcomings of the plot, adding an element of strategy to the game, which is extremely unusual for the series (in addition, several endings reappeared here).

Multiplayer was made at the level of eSports disciplines: from the “Specialists” mode, created in the spirit of MOBA games, to dynamic team shootouts. And the new movement mechanics brought the necessary variety to game process. Gamers could safely combine wall running and killing enemies, and this combination looked quite natural.

Ignore the criticism latest games by Infinity Ward - Infinite Warfare- offers one of the best story campaigns. The intergalactic setting allowed us to add battles in space suits to the game, as well as skirmishes in zero gravity, where we can hide behind asteroids with a grappling hook. Each episode is filled with spectacular events, which marked the return of Infinity Ward to its roots.

And in multiplayer, the developers decided to mix publicly approved elements instead of inventing something anew. For example, the Battle Rig mode is a kind of reworking of the "Specialists" from get Black Ops 3. Even the "Space Station Zombies" mode is enough to delight any fan of the series. However, the same can be said about the whole game as a whole.

Saying it's the weakest part of the Modern Warfare trilogy is like calling Return of the Jedi the worst movie in the first trilogy." Star Wars". At least there are no Ewoks here. The game, with its characteristic scope, brings the story to the end, accompanying it with inventive missions. What is it worth "Return to sender", where we find ourselves in the very center of a sandstorm with all the ensuing consequences.

Yes, the multiplayer here actively uses the achievements of the past parts, in fact, without offering anything new, but the replacement of a series of murders with a series of points brings the necessary balance to the game. In addition, there are plenty of beautifully modeled maps. All this together gives exciting game which does not lose its charm even today.

The Vietnamese chapter of COD by Treyarch is deservedly considered the best project from this developer in the entire series. The plot company is full of unforgettable moments, and quite creative finds are used in multiplayer modes. For example, the “Play with weapons” mode, where the character changes weapons after each kill, pleases with a variety of arsenal, despite the fact that it takes place in the 60s. The setting of the Cold War fits perfectly into the concept of the game - in rather shocking scenes from a moral point of view, well-chosen music, such as The Rolling Stones, is used, which gives the shooter a unique charm. By the way, I still do not understand what these numbers mean.

Modern Warfare 2 had to live up to all the expectations of gamers after the revolutionary first part, and it adequately coped with this task. The single-player campaign showed a spectacle of unprecedented proportions, while maintaining the usual high pace, and in multiplayer the smallest map in the series appeared - Rust, which quickly won the love of the audience.

Of course, if you wanted to, you could find a couple of minuses here, such as calling a nuclear strike in online modes and the mission "Not a word in Russian" in the main storyline, which is why the game did not hit the first place in this list. But it's hard to find fault with the game, which consists almost entirely of scenes that are deservedly considered classics of the series - including the attack on the Gulag in order to free an important prisoner.

Did you expect Black Ops: Declassified to come out on top? Come on. It's hard to argue that Modern Warfare is the pinnacle of the entire game series. It was popular at the time of release, and now it is considered the golden classic of shooters, which most modern projects are equal to. The main reason is the revolutionary gameplay in multiplayer, especially on consoles. A lot of skills and upgraded weapons, perfect balance on each map and exciting gameplay even today attract new players.

Awesome missions (Death from Heaven, All in Camouflage, Charlie Don't Surf just to name a few) and unexpected plot twists add up to the best war story ever told in Call of Duty. And the 2016 re-release made the game even better, pulling up the graphics to the level of Infinite Warfare. If you don't know which game to start with in the Call Of Duty series, then you should definitely choose Modern Warfare.

and Wii). The series boasts a huge collection of games, each new game new features are offered and the best developments are added. There are a ton of expansions currently being released for Call of Duty, most of which are High Quality. These games have always been famous for great co-op, so they are especially fun to play with friends.

Of course, Call of Duty may not be an option for people who have followed the series since the beginning and have already replayed all the parts (like me), so let's continue...

The best option would be to pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops II

With many free games like call of duty I hate to spend money on buying every new generation of CoD games. If you are like me in this, then this list of free alternatives to CoD will appeal to you, because these games are also fun to play, and the funds in your wallet will not decrease.

With the advent of improved technology that reduces game development time and the growing popularity of the Freemium model, there is currently no shortage of free games available for download on the Internet. But along with the good games come the bad ones, which can make trying out the available options a long and tedious process.

After going through this whole process more than once, I thought it would be nice to make it easier for people like me who are looking for free games like Call of Duty by publishing this very page.

Warframe

If you are looking for a free shooter that is mainly designed for joint game in a team, then Warframe is one of the new games that you should pay attention to. In the game, you become a Tenno as soon as you put on your powerful military suit (known as Warframes) as you fight against various enemies, each of which is menacing in its own way.

The gameplay pairs you up with up to three other players to form a team for the mission ahead of you. The missions are quite varied: from killing enemies, capturing locations, killing key opponents, to the simple task of staying alive while you can. To achieve the goal, players are given their own unique equipment, which can be combined and modified to control your character in a manner that is close to you or works well for your current team composition.

Due to the fact that the game is not really a first person shooter (it uses a close view over the character's shoulder in third person mode), I highly recommend it to fans of Call of Duty multiplayer who want to play a game where the main focus is on cooperation in the game, and not just the battle with other players.

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA)

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) is one of the free-to-play Call of Duty-like games that I've probably enjoyed the most, considering purely military shooters. The game is published by the Aeria Games team, and my experience with their other titles has been mostly positive, so I readily decided to give Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) a try as well.

The game has been around for a few years now, but recently there have been some impressive strides forward towards releasing graphical updates and increasing the number of game modes available. Things like gaining experience, unlocking hidden options, friend lists and other community features are there to keep you hooked and make you feel like you're progressing.

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) offers a plethora of game modes that any fan of first-person shooters will enjoy: various options for cooperating with other players available for all modes, capturing the flag and multi-round missions.

planet side 2

planet side 2 is the clear winner in terms of its scope and depth; this is an extremely addicting and interesting MMOFPS. The game is set in the same universe as the first game, but you don't really need experience playing original version to enjoy this game.

And yet, as someone who played the first game, I can tell you that they are very different from each other. The original PlanetSide was kind of a game where the storylines didn't fit into a single story, and where there were too many questions that the game couldn't be rated highly. In the continuation, everything is completely different, since its developers literally redid everything, starting with the first drawings and prevented the occurrence of flaws at the initial stage.

PlanetSide 2 takes place in a futuristic wartime setting as three factions fight for control of various territories. This is a particularly attractive option if you like to drive land vehicles or aircraft, as there are a lot of them in PlanetSide 2. All of the many factions have their own strengths and weaknesses that don't add up to an overall strategy, and it's extremely important to consider when deciding which weapon to take into battle against a particular faction.

You'll have to adjust to the demeanor of your chosen faction, and it's generally a good idea to test your strengths and weaknesses before jumping into the fray. Depending on your play style, you definitely fit into one of the factions more than the other. It's also a good idea to chat with friends who have joined the same faction to make sure you can fight together in different territories.

Gotham City Impostors

Gotham City Impostors this is one of those games that, in order to attract gamers, starts life as a paid game and then becomes free for users. In the case of Gotham City Impostors, this trick worked perfectly, but, however, the game is still paid for consoles, so I can only recommend it to you on PC.

As you might have guessed from the title, the game takes place in the Batman universe, consisting of a series of imaginative maps of terrain (such as Batman's mansion) where Batman-like heroes have to fight villains resembling the Joker. The focus of the game is on two points. This is, firstly, the ability to fine-tune the parameters of the characters, and secondly, the ability to easily move around the map.

You can move around the area dressed in a Batman cape using a rope and a grappling cat, roller skates and many other ways. These elements fit perfectly into the overall fun and colorful atmosphere that the game offers.

But where the game really excels is that there are an insane amount of character customization options. You can not only choose the most different types weapons, you also get the ability to design the character's body to your liking, there are special promotional bonus customizations, and much more. You can create various options character and freely switch between them depending on your momentary desire or those abilities that are necessary to play on a particular map or as part of a team.

I'm a big fan of non-military games like Call of Duty that aren't overly serious (like Team Fortress 2, which is also on this list), and if that's what you're into, this is a great option.

Team Fortress 2

Another one of the non-serious first-person shooters that I really like is Team Fortress 2. Similar to Gotham City Impostors, the game was initially paid for and has exploded in popularity since it became free to play. It's a game that I keep coming back to, simply because it has a fun atmosphere, a tight-knit community of players, and a level of variety that most other games just can't boast. You can get the game for free through the platform for free.

There are no tricks in the game storylines: Teams Blue and Red face off against each other in endless battles that usually take place on maps drawn according to the mission objective. The main element of the game are the nine classes established by the developers, each of which plays its own role on the battlefield. If you have enough game hours, you will also be able to unlock additional elements that slightly change your role in the game and help you follow your preferred strategy.

Character classes include heavyweight strongmen who can withstand heavy loads, medics who can heal teammates, spies who can turn into an enemy, and pyrotechnics who love to play with fire. The game can really appeal to everyone, but you have to be willing to try all these character classes to see what suits you.

The cards offer plenty of choice; there is a huge amount available various cards and game modes, and if you're part of a large community, it's easy to find a game that suits your needs. All the standard maps, such as the Capture the Flag mission map, are also present in the game, but there are also more unique ones that are something that you have never experienced before.

If you're one of those people who appreciate variety, then the free-to-play Team Fortress 2 is the perfect alternative to Call Of Duty.
