World of Tanks: tips, tactics, experience. World of Tanks tips for beginners What you need to play tanks

And they realized that they did not understand anything. Despite the fact that Wargaming tried to make the scheme and interface of their game as intuitive as possible, it is often still quite difficult for a beginner to understand the essence of "tanks". We will tell you about those fundamentals World of Tanks, which will help you navigate tank battles.

The first thing you need to decide is whether you will spend money on the game. If you do not plan to invest your hard-earned money, then it is better to choose only one nation and download it and only it. Subjectively, Soviet tanks are best suited for head-on collisions, while the United States, for example, has the largest amount of very good equipment. Premium tanks, which are given at the very beginning of the game, are best left in the hangar - you can beat additional silver on them, upgrade the crew and just train.

By the way, premium tanks are tanks that in most cases can only be bought for gold or obtained in clan battles. The latter are definitely worth a try if you want to really dive deep into the game. Also, do not forget to follow the official website of World of Tanks - news about various promotions, discounts, and so on often appear there.

It is important to remember that every time you convert something (no matter what), you lose a significant part of what you convert. You can convert, for example, experience points from "gold" and elite tanks - if you have money to spend, this will save you a lot of time. But it is better not to distill gold into silver - this is extremely inefficient.

Don't forget to buy consumables and keep an eye out for discounts - ammunition and other consumables can often be bought at a 50% discount. You can try to buy them in this order: first aid kit, repair, fire extinguisher. If you have a slow tank, then it is better to replace the fire extinguisher with acceleration. So you can get used to the car much faster.

At the initial levels get new tank not very difficult, however, the further you move, the more experience and silver you will need. Everything is more difficult with silver than with experience. Follow the forums, find out what kind of tanks people use to farm money. Of the tanks of the eighth level, for example, Super Pershing would be an excellent option, of the vehicles of the fifth level - the Churchill III. The latter, by the way, is very cheap, and it is often really interesting to play on it.

An important point about the "golden" tanks: you get more money from them and the crew is pumped on them faster. Also, do not forget that it is better not to use the crew from one type of tank on another: this way it gets less experience and, in general, is less effective.

NEVER use the right mouse button to focus on a target. This is a useless and stupid feature, and it will not allow you to shoot at certain parts of the tanks - and this is how the most effective shots are achieved. Focusing on the target is only useful if you are playing in a light vehicle, circling around a slow tank and need to put all your energy into maneuvering.

Remember that shooting and climbing up some hill at the same time is not worth it - you will most likely be quickly destroyed. If the enemy has artillery, you killed an enemy player and are standing next to him, then you are most likely a corpse. In such cases, it is best to move forward first, turn around 30-45 degrees after a second and move on for another couple of seconds. If you yourself are playing as art and you were suddenly noticed and started shooting at you, then crawl away as soon as possible. At the same time, try to ensure that the front of your tank is directed towards the attacker.

Know exactly your role in combat. A light tank most often plays the role of a scout - find as many enemy tanks as possible (especially artillery and other scouts) and try to destroy them. Try to stay in cover as you have less health than a medium tank and almost no armor. At the same time, playing as a heavy tank does not necessarily mean open combat. The medium tank is the most versatile tank. If you're playing as Artoo, then try to destroy heavy tanks first. You can forget about your role in the team only if this very team is full of noobs.

Try to thoroughly study each card. It is best to attack from high points, especially if there is cover. But remember that a good enemy gunner will most likely shoot at these points at random. In general, remember: if you are open and there are no allies nearby, or if you are ahead of everyone, then you are in great danger.

As for pumping tanks, always try to upgrade the guns first, since the penetration rate is a very important thing. Try to calculate if your tank can pull new cannon. It is advisable for scouts and artillery to immediately download the radar, which will transmit information about the location of the enemy more accurately. Scouts also need to pump the engine (for acceleration), tracks (for turns) and turrets (you will be able to detect the enemy faster and see him at long distances). And one more thing: it is very wasteful to use premium consumables in a regular battle - save money for clan battles and, if it happens, tournaments.

The most needed modifications

Mods can greatly simplify your life in tank battles. They make various elements of World of Tanks much more convenient and practical. Below is a list of the five most necessary mods that are desirable to install immediately. All mods are easily searched through Google.

1. Zoom in sniper mode

This mod increases the multiplicity of aiming - thanks to it, the aiming process is greatly simplified, it becomes much easier to hit the weak spot of an enemy tank. It should be borne in mind that at the maximum approach, the projectile flies to the tank longer.

2. Command camera

The modification removes the restriction on the distance of the camera. In many situations, this is really useful - you can, for example, look around some far corner or just look at the entire map. Also, the mod is convenient for finding artillery.

3. Damage panel

On the right you will see a list of the damage done to you. You can get information about the enemy's nickname, the amount of damage received, the type of projectile and the class of the tank. The mod will be useful for players who do not want to change the default damage panel, but who, however, need damage logs.

4. Improved mini-map

The names of tanks will appear on your mini-map - both enemy and friendly. The map will display the circle of view of your car and a number of other nice and useful notes. In general, the mod eliminates the need to constantly look around in search of enemy tanks.

5. Elevation angles

The mod allows you to get visual information about the angles of horizontal aiming. You will no longer need to look at the damage panel to locate dead zone sight. The modification will be especially useful for those who play as artillery or anti-tank units.

And remember: no matter how much money you invest in the game and no matter how cool the tank is, if you don’t have skill and skill, then you can consider that you spent your money in vain. Practice makes perfect, as they say.

I have already fought over 500 battles, which means that now I have at least some right to give advice to newcomers on the game World of Tanks. This week, finally took the badge of class Master. That is, I earned so much experience for the battle on this tank, how much 99% of players have not received in the last 7 days.

The very first piece of advice I want to give to any novice tanker is to find yourself a mentor. Comrade DerBunge, who brought me to the World of Tanks, accelerated my learning process by several times, fighting next to me and constantly correcting my actions.

  • You need to write to the chat only on business (point to the places where the enemy is congested, warn the artillery about the approach of the enemy, etc.). This item clearly demonstrates the consciousness of the tankers. Many newcomers begin to insult other players or discuss non-combat related topics.
  • It is convenient to track enemy deployment locations by tracers (smoke trails that shells leave behind). After all, a tank can be killed without even seeing it.
  • Your primary target is enemy artillery. By destroying it, you will tip the scales in favor of your team. Just don't blindly chase after her. Sometimes it's more profitable to capture the flag or defend your base, depending on the situation.
  • If you are playing anti-tank self-propelled guns(as I do) - pick up good shelters. It is advisable to look for several shelters nearby. Then, in case of detection, you can quickly hide and again fire at the enemy. If you want to fight in an open field and constantly attack, choose medium or heavy tanks.
  • On some maps it is more profitable to defend and wait (Westfield, Sandy River, El Halluf). This is largely due to the fact that the defenders occupy the heights and use the stereo tube to shoot ahead.
  • Don't be afraid of heavy tanks. Without support, they can be easy prey, especially for fast machines.
  • From the first battles, get used to aiming without auto-aim. In the future, this will allow you to fire with greater accuracy.
  • When driving a light tank, try to constantly maneuver. This will increase your survivability.
  • Most tanks have weakly armored vulnerabilities: commander's turrets, gas tanks, hatches...
  • The main task of a light tank is to quickly detect the enemy and not die in the process.
  • If you are unable to penetrate the armor of an enemy tank with a conventional projectile, try a land mine.
  • Constantly move away from enemy fire. Otherwise, you will become easy prey for artillery.
  • Light tanks and artillery can be destroyed by ramming.
  • The bushes stop cloaking you after the first shot. Therefore, you need to constantly change shelters.
  • To stop an enemy tank, knock down its caterpillar. This is especially true against light and heavy tanks.
  • The lower the tank, the harder it is to spot.
  • A stationary tank is harder to spot.
  • In no case do not break trees and buildings. Enemy artillery instantly notices such changes. Especially at higher levels. You won't even see the one who kills you.
  • Initially, destroy those tanks that your allies highlight on the map. The concentration of fire on one tank is the key to victory.
  • At the very beginning of the game, try to destroy all enemy light tanks. Otherwise, they will quickly get to your starting location and destroy the artillery.
  • How more tanks is in the capture circle, the faster the capture occurs.
  • A draw is tantamount to defeat.
  • While reloading, hide behind buildings, rocks, damaged tanks.
  • For shooting at teammates, a fine or even a ban is issued.
  • If you are kicked out of the game, reconnect. You have exactly 2 minutes to do this.
  • Capturing the flag is equivalent to destroying the entire enemy team.
  • Do not chase frags, think about the good of the team!
  • Upgrade your tank to the maximum. Sometimes only 10% of superiority plays a decisive role.
  • Everything is important in a gun: caliber, rate of fire, armor penetration.
  • Artillery is a dangerous opponent even in close combat.
  • If you have a mat-filter, instead of obscene language in the chat, you will see asterisks.
  • During the movement of the tank, the accuracy of shooting decreases.
  • The greater the angle of the armor, the higher the chance of ricochet.
  • The underdogs decide the outcome of the battle.

Cheat codes

The most common myth World games of Tanks - cheats. Many sites offer to download various programs to increase the amount of experience gained, money, or, for example, to become invulnerable. But by downloading such files, people simply open their computers to malicious attacks and get nothing in return. Rumors about cheat codes have been circulating since the official launch of the game.

How it was in practice:

  • A gamer came in, successfully using cheats in some other game.
  • Not having enough experience in tactical simulators, the gamer lost a lot of battles.
  • As a result, he concluded that opponents use cheat codes, which is why he is killed so often.

Such thoughts are prompted by many causeless (in their opinion) artillery hits at the very beginning of the game. People are not aware that the shooting is carried out at the most frequent places where enemy tanks accumulate "blindly". Another factor that gives rise to rumors is the carelessness of the players. Using primitive passwords and setting dubious software, they themselves give passwords from accounts into the hands of intruders and lose their accounts.

But you can still get a certain advantage over other users of the World of Tanks game. There are two solutions here.

Official cheats

Or, in other words, paid services. When buying gold with real money (via SMS or e-wallets), you get an advantage in the form of more powerful shells (gold), premium tanks, consumables, as well as an increased amount of experience and in-game money.

Although, according to the statements of many experts in the gaming industry, so far in the World of Tanks, the influence real money feels much weaker than most online games. As a striking example, here is a strategy that is entirely based on real money.

Unofficial cheats

Young and not so young craftsmen throughout history WoT development constantly coming up with ways to make the game easier. In another way, they are also called mods. In order not to run into viruses and other crap, I recommend looking at the corresponding section of the official forum of the game, which is called just that - Mods and software. Among other things, the most commonly used are the following:

  1. Sniper sights for tanks and self-propelled guns.
  2. Deer meter (deer meter, XVM, calculator).
  3. Skins with marked penetration zones.
  4. Modifiers for the minimap.
  5. Damage bar modifiers.
  6. Icons of shells, modules, tanks.
  7. Sound mods.
  8. Hangar Modifiers.
  9. And others…

I myself am indifferent to these "cheats". I've never used it and don't intend to. In pursuit of beautiful numbers and achievements, many forget the essence of any computer game- getting pleasure from the process itself. And if you worry about every lost game, then the game turns into an endless nervous stress.

That's all for today. On tanks, I hope I will write more than one post. Follow the news.

Armor

All vehicles in the game have armor that protects against enemy fire. The degree of booking for different cars is different, but for most of them there is general principle: the frontal parts are better protected, and the side and stern are more vulnerable. Armor is measured in millimeters and is indicated in the following format: front/side/stern armor thickness. And if the value of armor, for example, is indicated as 75/45/45, then a gun with a penetration capacity of 60 mm with a direct hit will be able to penetrate the side or stern, but not frontal armor.

An example of booking an IS-3. Color variations show places with different armor thickness in millimeters.

In addition to the side and rear, almost all equipment has the same weak points: the lower armor plate, hatches and the roof of the tower.

armor penetration

Armor penetration mainly depends on the angle at which the projectile hits the armor. The best penetration is achieved when hit at a right angle - in this case, the projectile overcomes the minimum thickness of the armor. The trajectory of the projectile meeting the armor at a right angle is called the normal.

Deviation from the normal is projectile angle of entry. It defines the thickness reduced armor- the distance that the projectile must travel to cause damage. The larger the angle of entry, the more value given armor.

The projectile may either not penetrate the armor, or even bounce off it at all - this is a ricochet. Armor-piercing and sub-caliber projectiles ricochet if the angle of entry of the projectile is greater than 70°, while HEAT shells ricochet at an angle greater than 85° (see Ammunition load). Do not ricochet only high-explosive shells: if they do not penetrate armor, they explode right on it, regardless of the angle of entry.

penetration

ricochet

There is one more important rule for the ricochet mechanics of armor-piercing and sabot shells: if the caliber of the shell is more than three times the thickness of the armor at the point of impact, then the ricochet is impossible at any angle between the shell and the armor. HEAT projectiles ricochet at an angle of more than 85°, regardless of caliber.

Keep in mind the armor penetration and ricochet mechanics when you fire at the enemy: try not to shoot at a tangent, and do not stand at right angles to the fire yourself in order to reduce the chance of getting penetrated.

Effective Shooting

There are a number of tricks that will help you in battle and increase your chances of dealing damage.

Shooting with lead

The most important skill that will come in handy when shooting at moving targets. Aim and converge at the front of the enemy vehicle or some distance in front of it and shoot. The further away the enemy is and the faster he moves, the more lead will be required.

auto-aim

A useful feature if you yourself are on the move. Using auto-aim allows you to fully concentrate on maneuvering while continuing to fire at the selected target. Aim at the enemy and right-click, and your weapon will automatically aim at the selected enemy.

Auto-aim is performed approximately at the center of the vehicle and does not take into account its armor, the location of the modules, and the necessary lead to hit.

Shooting at modules

Can't penetrate a well-armored enemy? No problem. Open targeted fire at its modules - in particular, at the tracks. This tactic is especially good against higher level and more durable vehicles. Your ability to "keep" the enemy on a downed track will not allow him to hide from fire, and your allies will be able to focus and quickly destroy him. You will definitely appreciate this support.

Relief

Advantageous positions

Use the terrain on the maps to your advantage! Hide behind rocks, rocks and buildings to calmly wait for reloading or completely hide from the enemy. To protect yourself from artillery fire, take cover behind mountains and other large objects.

But the terrain is not only cover, it is also the ability to effectively fire without taking damage. Take a look: this tank is behind a hill so that all its vulnerable parts are hidden, and only a powerful armored tower looks at the enemy.

Terrain Hazards

On any map, maneuver with caution. Do not attempt to speed off cliffs or cliffs. In the best case, you will lose durability points and break several modules, and in the worst case, you will completely destroy the car.

On many maps there are reservoirs - these are small lakes, and bays, and a deep city river. Be careful when crossing a body of water or a river bridge. Remember: if your equipment - in particular, the engine compartment - went under water, you have 10 seconds to get out, otherwise the car will sink.

During extreme maneuvers, equipment can fall on its side or roll over - this happens especially often with light and fast cars. If the equipment lay on board, it is not only immobilized, but also practically defenseless: visibility, accuracy and rate of fire are sharply reduced. If the vehicle rolls over, it cannot fire at all and self-destructs after 30 seconds. Allies can help return the car to both tracks by gently pushing it in the right direction, but this is not always possible.

Detection and masking

Machine overview

It's hard to fight an enemy you can't see. The sooner you find opponents on the battlefield, the more chances you have to seize the initiative in battle. Discovery is one of the key elements game mechanics World of Tanks.

Vision is the maximum possible distance within which your vehicle can detect enemy vehicles. This parameter is determined by the characteristics of the tower, as well as the skills and abilities of the crew.

The minimap shows several radii around your vehicle icon. This is an overview of your car, the maximum overview in the game and the circle for rendering vehicles.

  1. Circle of view. The value of an overview of your equipment, taking into account the skills and abilities of the crew, as well as the installed equipment.
  2. Circle of maximum visibility. For all vehicles in the game, the maximum view range is 445 meters. Even if your vehicle's visibility exceeds this value, you will not be able to detect the enemy at a greater distance on your own. However, in this case, it will be easier for you to find stealthy enemy vehicles within this distance.
  3. Drawing circle. Shows the maximum distance at which the vehicles of the players will be displayed on your screen - this is 565 meters.

A huge role in detecting vehicles on the battlefield is played by the communication range of your vehicle - this is the distance at which you and your allies can exchange data on the position of other players. The communication range depends on the characteristics of the radio station, as well as on the skills and abilities of the crew.

If your ally has detected an enemy vehicle and fed you intel, the icon for that vehicle will appear on your minimap, even if the vehicle itself is outside of your drawing circle and not visible on the battlefield. Therefore, do not neglect the installation of a powerful radio station on your car!

Disguise

The later the enemy detects you, the more chances you have to survive and prove yourself in battle. Disguise yourself to be invisible!

The easiest way to disguise yourself is to hide in vegetation, such as bushes or fallen trees. Make sure that the body of the machine and the tower do not look out of the bush. But if the gun barrel sticks out of the foliage, this will not affect the camouflage.

When you stop at a distance of 15 meters or less from the vegetation, it becomes transparent to you: you can see the enemy, but he cannot see you. So the bush is not only a disguise, but also an opportunity to fire from an ambush.

The shot and the movement of the hull completely unmask the vehicle, while the rotation of the turret and the movement of the barrel do not affect the camouflage.

How to improve vision and camouflage

Equipment "Stereotube"

Gives +25% to vision radius from a stationary vehicle.

Coated optics equipment

Gives +10% to the vision radius of the car, both in motion and in a stationary state.

Eagle Eye Commander Perk

Increases viewing range, especially effective when disabling surveillance devices.

Radio Operator Skill "Radio Intercept"

Increases viewing range.

Equipment "Camouflage Net"

Removable equipment that fits all vehicles and gives a bonus to the camouflage of a stationary vehicle.

Crew skill "Disguise"

Begins to act from the beginning of the study. If the skill is fully learned by all crew members, the visibility of the vehicle is significantly reduced.

In writing this article, my friend and part-time experienced player in WOT- Alexander Slashchev (BestUFOdriver). We also want to warn you that all the tips below are purely advisory in nature. Each player can choose for himself the tactics of the game that seems to him the most correct or convenient.

Light tanks

The main feature of this class of combat vehicles is high maneuverability and speed. These tanks do not have high armor and good weapon, but their small size allows them to easily camouflage or evade enemy projectiles. When playing with machines of this type, you need to remember the main rule: move, move and move again. A light tank standing in one place is a potential suicide bomber.

The main task of light tanks in the game is to detect enemy combat vehicles, and constant "light" (reconnaissance) on the battlefield. It should be mentioned that there are two types of light: passive and active. This gradation was necessary, as different tanks have different characteristics.

Active reconnaissance means rapid turns throughout the map during the battle. The more circles you make on the map, the more opponents you will find, and the more significant your contribution to the positive outcome of the battle will be. Prominent representatives of this play style are the T-50-2 tank (Tier 5 light tank from the USSR faction) and french tank Level 5 ELC AMX.

Passive light is a quiet, spy reconnaissance at a certain point on the map and the transmission of information about all enemy tanks passing by to allies. Thus, the game tactics of such reconnaissance is completely different from the tactics of active light. Your first priority is to quickly occupy all vulnerabilities on the map and quietly waiting for opponents passing by you there. The longer you remain unnoticed, the more useful you will be. This style of play appeared because some light tanks do not have the necessary level of speed and maneuverability, but they have good optics and radio communications. For example, german tank Level 6 VK 2801 or american tank Tier 5 M24 Chaffee.

The choice of skills for the crew will depend directly on what kind of reconnaissance the tank will conduct in battle (active or passive). For active machines, the first thing to do is to learn "camouflage", and then "repair" i.e. These skills will reduce the chance that opponents will take you by surprise. And then you can experiment with various types abilities. For example, take the “eagle eye” and “radio interception” for the commander, the “off-road king” for the driver (this will increase the speed and maneuverability of the tank), and the loader for the “non-contact ammunition rack”.

Fans of passive light tactics will have to train the crew according to a different scheme. The most important skill for you will be "sixth sense" and "disguise". Then you can start learning the skills "eagle eye", "radio interception", "king of the off-road", "virtuoso" and "vindictive".

As you probably already guessed, the installed equipment will also differ in playstyles. Active light tanks will need "enlightened optics", "improved ventilation" and "springs". But for the passive tactics of the game, the “springs” will have to be replaced with a “stereo tube”, which, by the way, we recommend putting first.

Finally, we note that despite the low characteristics of armor and weapons, light tanks can quite easily cope with self-propelled guns and some types of tank destroyers, thanks to their speed and maneuverability. But do not forget that a good scout is a live scout. Therefore, in any mortal danger - RUN!

medium tanks

A medium tank can be called more armored, but less maneuverable light tank. However, this concept is too abstract, since medium tanks differ greatly from each other not only in terms of armor and speed, but also in terms of firepower. Therefore, it is difficult to talk about the features of medium tanks in general.

If you decide to play a medium tank, then your main task will be fire support for the allies. Tanks of this type do not have sufficient armor, so do not try to get ahead first or go alone. At the very beginning of the battle, your goal is to occupy positions convenient for combat at all key points on the map (places near the main points of the battle, in which you can use the terrain to your advantage). In the event of situations that are dangerous for you, try to go to the rear or hide behind more armored allies.

Since a medium tank has a fairly high speed, but not strong enough armor, the critical moment for you may be the breakdown of one or another of the main modules. Therefore, we recommend that you upgrade the crew of your tank "repair". And in order to prevent breakdowns, the captain of your tank will need the “sixth sense” skill, which will help you hide from enemy radars in time. "Combat Brotherhood", will strengthen the basic abilities of your tankers. In addition, when crew members are shell-shocked, their special skills will continue to work.

Special equipment for medium tanks varies as much as their characteristics. But there are some patterns. If you teach your crew " the Brotherhood of War”, then the installation of “improved ventilation” will be most effective. If you are on a team light tank, then “enlightened optics” will come in handy, and if the role of fire support, then “reinforced aiming drives”, “rammer” or “vertical aiming stabilizer”. The choice of a set of equipment is carried out directly for each tank separately. common system not for medium tanks.

Heavy tanks

The main feature of heavy tanks is thick armor and a powerful gun with a high penetration rate. This makes your tank a serious contender for any enemy. However, these pluses pull with them the minuses: low speed of movement and maneuverability.

During the battle, you perform one of the most important tasks: to divert enemy fire to yourself as much as possible, while friendly tanks, hiding behind your mighty “back”, inflict well-aimed blows on the enemy’s military equipment. In addition, a powerful weapon allows you to deal with 2-3 medium tanks alone.

Don't be afraid to stay behind and be one of the last to leave the base. Your first priority is protection. Staying behind, you can easily track the position of your allies and head to the places where your support is most needed.

When teaching skills to the crew, first of all pump over the "repair". During the battle, you will stand in the rain of enemy shells, which will now and then disable your combat modules. A nice addition will be the “sixth sense”, which will save you from unexpected attacks and allow you to correctly take a position, covering weak spots (sides and stern). The skills “smooth turn of the tower”, “king of off-road” and “virtuoso” will come in very handy.

Additional equipment in heavy tanks is chosen in such a way as to remove the shortcomings of the vehicle and emphasize the main characteristics of the crew. Thus, we install “improved ventilation” for the crew, and we choose the other two add-ons personally for the tank. It can be a “rammer”, “reinforced aiming drives”, or “vertical aiming stabilizer”.

tank destroyer

The main feature of anti-tank self-propelled artillery installations is a very powerful weapon for destroying enemy equipment at long and medium distances, as well as powerful frontal armor that can withstand powerful enemy attacks. However, the lack of a turret severely limits horizontal aiming angles, so in close combat, the chances of winning are significantly reduced.

The primary task of tank destroyers is to take cover far from the place of battle and provide constant fire support for allies from a long distance. But don't get stuck in one place. Constantly change the place of deployment, especially after successful shots. Important advice: Try not to occupy standard or popular hiding places. Experienced players always check these points and therefore can take you by surprise. The more non-standard position you take, the less likely you are to be detected by enemy scouts.

Tank destroyers, like other types of tanks, have a huge number of differences from each other. Therefore, after pumping the basic skills of the crew (“repair”, “sixth sense” and “disguise”), you yourself will have to choose the skills necessary for this model.

All tanks of this class have their own special combat characteristics, various tactics and fighting styles. But one thing remains unchanged - all tank destroyers need a "rammer" to increase the reload speed of the gun. And then select items personally for the features of your combat vehicle. Slow anti-tank self-propelled guns are suitable for passive reconnaissance equipment (“stereo tube” and “camouflage net”). But for faster combat units, the “improved ventilation” and “reinforced aiming drives” will be just right.

ACS

self-propelled artillery mounts are one of the most unusual classes in the game and have non-standard combat techniques. The main features of this type military equipment are: a very powerful weapon, capable of carrying out an attack across the entire map, causing significant damage to military equipment, and a unique artillery sight. In addition, these tanks have a high level of camouflage and average speed and maneuverability. But do not forget about the disadvantages that make life very difficult for self-propelled guns: very weak armor and the lowest gun reload speed in the game.

Based on such features of the tank, its battle tactics and main tasks during the game are built. Choose the right and the most convenient positions on the map, but don't forget that all your favorite SPG points have long been known to everyone and are constantly checked. The position of your tank while firing must be strictly horizontal. If the tank is standing on a slope during firing, the shells will have a changed flight path. Carefully follow the progress of the game on the minimap and think about each shot. Remember: your main task is to provide powerful fire support for allies and inflict maximum damage on enemy vehicles. Do not let the enemy close to you, because in close combat your chances of winning endlessly tend to zero. In addition, the flight of your tank projectile has a smoke path (tracer), which is visible to enemy self-propelled guns. After making a shot, we advise you to change position, as some skilled tankers can calculate your position from this trail.

Unlike other types of tanks, self-propelled guns have a crew upgrade system common to all factions. Everything is quite simple here: first of all, “camouflage” and “sixth sense”, then “combat brotherhood” and only then all the other auxiliary skills.

As for the additionally installed equipment, everything is also clear: to cover up the shortcomings and emphasize the advantages. The "camouflage net", "rammer" and "reinforced aiming drives" will help you with this.

***

In the end, we want to remind you that the outcome of the battle almost always depends on how well the team works and how well the battle tactics are chosen. You should not rely only on your own strength and the level of pumping of the tank. Be sociable, discuss actions with the team and this will significantly increase your chances of winning.

Basics

Don't knock down trees! It gives away your position even if you are invisible to the enemy.

Use terrain elements!"Fire from behind cover" and "Shot and hide." Find indestructible cover, such as a building, rock, hill, or the wreck of a destroyed tank. Move out for a shot, then duck back in for a reload. This way you can deal damage and reload safely.

Take advantage of uneven terrain! Fire from the back slopes, over the crests of the hills. In this case, the hull of the tank is closed from the enemy by a ridge and only the turret is visible. Get up to shoot and move back to reload. If you climb obliquely, then the tower will shift to the side in the enemy's sight - it will be more difficult for him to hit.

Remember! The projectile flies in an arc. Hiding behind the reverse slope of a very gentle unevenness, you run the risk of getting a projectile rounding the unevenness into the tower. Use this feature yourself: if, due to a long and gentle unevenness, the enemy is visible at least a pixel, point at him and shoot - the projectile will bypass the unevenness in an arc and, most likely, hit the roof of an enemy vehicle.

Don't go under multiple guns! This rule covers many things, from using cover to take out enemies one at a time, to avoiding obvious bottlenecks on the map.

Tanks crossing the ridge are very vulnerable! They open the lower armor plates without the ability to return fire. Shooting down the tracks of the most dangerous enemy tanks when they are on the crest of a hill will allow your allies to shoot them without damage and will not allow them to retreat.

Shooting from the edge of a high cliff can be dangerous by exposing the bottom armor plates of your tank, but can give good results by shooting at weakly protected enemy rooftops.

Come in to the enemy, especially the slow one, from the flank or from the rear! In tanks, as a rule, the bow is well protected, the sides are worse and the stern is the weakest. A fast medium tank can defeat a heavy one by simply flanking it and shooting at its weak spots while moving away from its slowly spinning turret. This is especially effective in one-on-one duels in open areas with no cover.

One on one, do not turn the board and do not let go from the flank! Faced with an enemy who is trying to get around you, turn your body so that your forehead is facing the enemy. This will force him to make a wider turn, exposing weak spots when he himself has to shoot you at your thick frontal armor.

Don't let yourself be flanked - multiple opponents / threat from the front (more common)! When several opponents intend to outflank you, or one almost went into the side, and the other is shelling in the forehead, just move back, exposing the forehead to the most serious enemy (this can be either coming from the flank or shooting from the front). This will delay the bypass of the enemy from the rear, allowing for some time to receive shells in thicker armor. Don't forget to focus your fire on one target until he or you dies.

Knocking down the enemy caterpillars, you make him immobile! Damage to the tracks, stops the tank until the crew fixes them. You can shoot down a caterpillar by ramming it (depending on the speed and mass of the opponents) or by firing at the caterpillars. “Always deprive dangerous opponents of caterpillars in open places where they are open to artillery. If your comrades are crowded behind in a narrow passage (for example, on a city map) and the enemy jumps out in front of you from around the corner ... knock down his caterpillar! Each tank standing behind you can make a shot, knock down the caterpillar again and together finish off the enemy, preventing him from driving behind cover.

Ram - the weapon of heroes! But ramming a heavier opponent is often not heroism, but stupidity, if it is not done wisely. In order to immobilize a strong enemy, hit him with frontal armor on the guide and drive wheels. With an ordinary blow to the side, you will immobilize not only the enemy tank, but you yourself will lose the tracks. Yes, this is a difficult technique - study, train.

A head-on attack by a PT could mean imminent death. thanks to their sloping armor and powerful front-mounted cannon. But their weak side and stern armor and the inability to fire in all directions except forward make them extremely vulnerable to a downed track.

In a group, your chances of survival increase. Barring special circumstances, supporting each other in a group is preferable to heroism and risk taking. When you're together, you deal more damage and distribute the damage between you, attacking and defending more effectively. It can also mean waiting on the spot with everyone, even if you don't agree with this tactic - a coordinated bad plan is more likely to succeed than an uncoordinated good plan. This does not mean that you need to get off the whole team in one heap. When the main body of the team goes in one direction, the others open up, giving the coordinated enemy an easy victory.

Destroy one at a time. Concentrating fire on one enemy until it is destroyed is better than spontaneously shooting at multiple targets, as in the first case, the tank is quickly taken out of the game along with the damage it could deal.

Set your priorities. Remember who you are. Are you a heavy tank, medium tank, self-propelled gun? For example, being a heavy tank, you shouldn't waste time chasing a "light frag" when there is a more significant threat, such as an enemy TT behind cover, waiting to move out and fire. Similarly, when playing CT, don't waste time on targets you can't hit, look for someone lighter to help your heavyweights. The exception is when a "light frag" shines your enemy artillery position or an enemy TT captures your base - in both cases, this tank becomes the main threat and the number one target.

Use more armored comrades as cover from enemy fire, especially helping allied heavy tanks against enemy heavy tanks. By staying alive, you can continue to deal damage to the enemy and help your team. Consider their intentions and don't block their escape route to cover.

Shoot ahead of fast moving targets! The projectile does not hit the target immediately after the shot, for some time it is in flight. During this time, the target can change its location. This means that you must aim at a certain distance in front of the target, depending on the speed, direction of the target and the distance to it. With the frontal movement of the target, range lead, with flank (to the side) - angular lead. If everything is calculated correctly, the projectile will be in the right place just when the enemy is substituted under it.

A quick dash from cover to cover will minimize your chances of being detected and destroyed! When moving from cover to cover, especially between two buildings, consider acceleration. The more speed you develop by the time you leave for an open area, the faster you will slip through it and the less time you will be open to enemy fire. If the situation allows, you can pull back a little before the jerk to give yourself more distance to accelerate.

Don't be afraid to run away! If the team's plan fails or the chances are slim, instead of a suicidal rush, retreat, regroup and change strategy.

Place your armor at an angle to reduce the angle at which the projectile hits the armor! Turning your tank (by 20-30 degrees) in relation to the enemy will reduce the angle of the shell's encounter with the armor and increase the chances of non-penetration or ricochet. But don't lose sight of it, this way you can expose the board to opponents far to your right or left, so this maneuver is preferable to use in confined spaces and one-on-one fights.

Continue to coordinate the attack as events unfold! In the example above, while two enemy heavy tanks distracted, medium tanks bypass them. Break into groups and work together to defeat the enemy with a coordinated strike. Use cover, camouflage, terrain and tank features to your advantage.

Always change direction! It is not more difficult to hit a maneuvering enemy.

Stay close to cover as you drive around it. to reveal yourself to the smallest possible number of enemies. In places where tanks line up on opposite sides of the crest of the hill, an open exit means certain death. Knowing who is waiting for you there is a key factor in deciding whether to advance through the obstacle or stop and hold the position. If you are not able to help knock out the enemy by driving over the ridge, try changing tactics and going in a different direction. When your comrades prevent the enemy from getting around the ridge, you can use this opportunity to outflank the enemy.

Beware of enemy baiting tricks and learn to use them to your advantage! You can get more enemy projectiles than you expected when leaving cover or moving towards a narrow passage in pursuit of an easy frag. Learn to recognize clear bait, take into account the behavior of the enemy and his potential sniper positions on the map.

Don't be predictable, it's easy to resist! Use all sorts of tips on tactics for the game from different sources.

Advanced tactics

Try using a roll shot to hit a low target when reaching the ridge. The tank rolls back and forth when it starts and stops moving. Tanks with low elevation angles are weak in hillside combat. Accelerate to a decent speed, and then, when your tower appears over the hill and sees the enemy, slow down. The tank will roll forward and the sight will go down, increasing the declination angle of the gun, making it possible to fire at an angle that is not foreseen by the characteristics of your tank. Keep in mind that you will have a very short time to shoot and your accuracy will be poor, but those few extra degrees of declination will give you the opportunity to strike. If your opponent isn't aiming at you, try rocking the tank back and forth (by pressing W and S alternately) to see if you can destroy the enemy. This technique is very important in dynamic combat.

reverse diamond

This maneuver works better on tanks with a rear turret (like the FV215b (183) , Soviet medium tanks of the alternative branch, and other vehicles). It is desirable that the tank has a strong turret without weak points, like commander's cupolas, and medium-thick sides. The essence is shown in the picture: the enemy is substituted only with a side at an angle of rebound, and a caterpillar. If the caliber of an enemy projectile is three times the thickness of such armor, then there will be a ricochet. In this way, you can deal damage to the enemy in exchange for ricochets and a downed caterpillar.
