Creative tasks for gyenesh blocks for children. Methods of teaching children mathematics with the help of Z. Gyenes blocks. Video: educational games for children with Gyenish blocks using a diagram map

If in our childhood all the variety was limited to Nikitin's manuals, now it's just that our eyes run wide. In this article I will not list them all, but I want to talk about one, maybe not very well-known, but completely unique development aid logical thinking child. it Gyenes blocks(Ozone, KoroBoom). Taisiya and I played with them so much (and now we take them out from time to time) that I can rightfully call Gyenesh blocks one of the most used developmental materials in our house.

Gyenes blocks. What it is?

At first glance, it may seem that Gyenesh logical blocks are a common set of geometric bodies or building blocks. In fact, it is much more than just a building material. This is a storehouse of games for the development of logical, mathematical and spatial thinking!

The manual consists of 48 voluminous geometric shapes, and main feature set is that none of the figures in it is repeated! All blocks differ from each other in four properties: shape, color, size, thickness. Such a set of characteristics allows you to offer the kid a lot of interesting analytical tasks for comparison, generalization, classification, the ability to encode and decode information. In this article, I will talk in detail about the most interesting and useful games with Gyenes blocks and about their use in the development of children.

The advantage of the set is also its relatively low price (when compared with other popular logic games). And from the shortcomings, I can note that the blocks are not so easy to find on sale. For a long time it was completely impossible to buy them in popular online stores, recently the manual appeared on Ozone still in store KoroBoom.

Gyenes blocks. Job Albums | Download

Among mothers, special albums with tasks for Gyenes blocks are very popular. Albums are great for the first acquaintance with the figures, because during the game the baby pays attention to the different shapes, colors and sizes of the blocks.

In the albums, the child is invited to assemble the picture according to the scheme. The smallest picture can be assembled by overlaying blocks on the diagram, it is advisable for more experienced builders to build a figure next to the sample.

Examples of the simplest albums:

Gyenes blocks for the little ones (2-3 years old) (Ozone, KoroBoom)

Gyenes blocks for toddlers 2 (2-4 years old) (Ozone, KoroBoom)

Little logics (Ozone, KoroBoom)

There are also many albums for older children (4 to 8 years old). In them, the tasks are already more diverse and original.

Games and activities with Gyenesh blocks. Using Blocks

Variants of games with Gyenesh blocks I bring in ascending order of difficulty . The variety of tasks is so great that there is a lot of useful information for both 2-year-olds and 5-year-olds. Don't forget to turn any benefit activity into game situation, let the blocks be not just three-dimensional figures, but cookies, residents of houses, passengers of a steam locomotive, etc.

So, you can start playing from the age of 2, gradually complicating the tasks. Let's get started

  • Sorting blocks by the presence of one feature

It is important to teach the child to distinguish and recognize the individual properties of the figures. During the first lessons, focus the child's attention on only one property, for example, color or shape.

Place two toys in front of the baby, for example, Bunny and Mishka, and say that Bunny loves round cookies (Gyenesh logic blocks will be cookies), and Mishka is square. Let the baby divide the figures between the toys according to their preferences.

Similarly, shapes can be sorted by color, size, thickness. The property of thickness, as a rule, is the most difficult for the child, so deal with it last.

  • Sort the figures by the presence of two features

When the kid is doing well with the previous task, try adding another property for sorting.

This time, the figures can be seeds that need to be planted in the beds. We plant everything on one bed red and large seeds, and on the second - blue and triangular.

    Sorting blocks using logical cards

The next step is to develop the ability to encode and decode information about shapes using logical symbols. That is, if until now you have given the child conditions for sorting words, now the child will learn to establish a relationship between the property of the block and its graphic image.

For this version of the game, you will need logical cards with the following notation:

Blue, red, yellow block

Big and small block

Thick and thin block

, , , is a block of the corresponding form

Cards with crossed out images indicate the denial of a property. For example, - not blue, - not round, - not thick, - not big, etc.

Unfortunately, there are no such cards in the set of Gyenes blocks. You can make them yourself or DOWNLOAD HERE . Introduce logical cards into the game gradually, explaining to the child what this or that symbol means.

For example, offer the kid to sort the figures into two groups (do not forget to beat the task somehow, the blocks can become passengers who need to be seated in two different cars). For each group, put one or two logical cards. For example, next to one group put a red card and a triangle (which means you need to pick up all the red triangular shapes here), next to the other - cards with a circle and a small house (we select small round shapes).

We select cards for the corresponding figures

Try the reverse as well. First, sort the blocks together according to some verbal condition. Let's say you propose to settle all the figures in two houses (thick ones in one house, thin ones in another). After the child completes the task, offer to “sign” each house with a card so that the tenants do not mix up their houses. Help your child to choose the right cards from several offered.

  • Sorting blocks by the absence of one feature

Invite the child to sort the shapes into NON-round and NON-square. At the same time, pay attention to the baby that some blocks (for example, triangular ones) can fit both there and there. Do not forget to enliven the game with some kind of plot (for example, a kitten plants flowers in flower beds - flowers are NOT round in one flower bed, and non-square in the other).

  • Sort by the absence of two or more features

If everything works out for the baby, then you can suggest sorting the blocks by the absence of two or even three signs at once. And the most advanced level is sorting by the presence of some and the absence of others.

    Finding similarities and differences

Arrange several plates in front of the child on the table and explain that you need to put one in each of them. two blocks of the same shape. Let the kid decide on his own what shapes they will be (for example, he can take two round blocks of any color and size). In this task, the main task that the baby faces is to highlight one common property in the figures, regardless of all the others.

At another time, offer to put two shapes of the same color / size / thickness on each plate.

The next step is to try to distinguish between the blocks. So, invite the child to put two figures in each bowl different color/ shape / size / thickness.

And finally, the most difficult version of this task looks like this: put two blocks in one bowl same size but different shape; same shape and same size; different shapes and different sizes etc.

  • "We resettle tenants" in the house. For each room we set the condition

This task is similar to games with logic cards. The child needs to resettle the figures in the house, taking into account the conditions that are given for each "room". If you are just learning to understand the meanings of images, one condition will be enough, but more “advanced” you can draw three conditions in one room.

  • We collect the track / bridge according to the specified conditions

Tell your kid a story about how the bridge broke between the houses of your toy friends (for example, Bunnies and Bears), which is why now they cannot visit each other. Offer to build a new bridge. But it will not be simple, but magical. On this bridge, each brick can be laid out only according to a special rule: you set a condition for each block using 1-2 logical cards, and the kid lays out the figures in a row.

For example, first you show a card with a crossed out circle - the child selects and places any non-circular block on the bridge, then you show a blue card and a full man - the child selects and places a blue thick element on the bridge, etc.

  • Album of tasks "Sculpting nonsense"

Separately, I would like to say about album of tasks "Sculpt nonsense" (Ozone, KoroBoom). To be honest, I liked it more than all the other benefits. On the cover, the age limit is from 4 years old, in fact, it can be safely used from 3 years old, especially if the baby has been playing with Gyenesh blocks for the first time.

This album teaches the child to select figures, taking into account three conditions at the same time. Having picked up all the blocks and put them in the right places, the kid will get a funny picture. And this picture is also the answer to the riddle. Riddles, by the way, are also not easy, these are tricky riddles - according to rhyme, one answer is asked, but in fact another

Yes, you can download the album HERE .

  • We build a path / circle so that there are no parts of the same color / size nearby

We build a path or a circle with one single condition - there should not be blocks nearby, for example, of the same color. Other times the condition may be unequal shape/size/thickness.

  • Getting to know the concept of intersecting sets

At first glance, the task may seem very complicated and may even remind you of intersecting sets from the 9th grade algebra course, but in fact it is quite accessible for a small child. Taisiya coped with such a task when she was not yet 3 years old

So, lay out two intersecting circles on the floor with the help of ropes and explain that you need to put all the round figures in one circle, and the red ones in the other. After that, draw the baby's attention to the fact that there is such an area that falls simultaneously into both circles, respectively, in this place the figures must satisfy both conditions - to be both red and round.

  • "We resettle tenants" in the house. Learning to work with a spreadsheet

Another task for the resettlement of "tenants" in the house, only this time the principle of resettlement is completely different. The kid must arrange the figures in empty cells so that they satisfy the conditions in the row and column at the same time. That is, the child learns to work with the table. This skill is very important and useful; many educational games and school tasks are based on it.

A three-year-old child can already be introduced to the principle of constructing a table, for him this is quite a feasible task.

Row names are best to use shapes or colors (because there are more of them), and column names can be the thickness or size of the shape.

This task teaches the child not only to lay out tracks taking into account the alternation of properties, but also to understand the graphic scheme and follow it. Draw a diagram on a piece of paper that will indicate in what order the figures should follow each other. Looking at the diagram, the kid must lay out the figures in the sequence shown by the arrows.

In such a scheme, it is desirable to limit ourselves to only one property (color or shape, for example).

To complicate the task, you can slightly confuse the arrows, so the sequence will not be so obvious.

Such schemes can be used not only to build tracks, but also various shapes (circles, for example). After construction, invite the baby to sketch the resulting figure.

  • Game "Blocks Traveling"ut"

In my opinion, this is one of the most exciting options for classes with blocks, it will be of interest to children from 3.5-4 years old. Here, the blocks are not just geometric shapes, but real travelers who walk along the paths and follow the road signs. But their signs, of course, are not simple, but special, for blocks

It is necessary to prepare for the game and draw a field with branching paths, while at each fork there should be an indication of which “travelers” can walk along this path, and which ones need to turn onto the next path.

For example, at the first fork, the path is divided into two parts, and all the small figures go to the left, and the big ones to the right. Further, each of these paths forks again, and now, in order to find out which path to follow, you need to pay attention to the color of the block, etc. To complicate the game, you can add signs with the negation of properties.

The lesson will become more interesting if at the end each path leads to some goal - a cafe, a shop, a forest, a playground ... It all depends on your artistic abilities My abilities are not great, therefore Kindergarten ours is no different from the store :), fortunately, the daughter can already read the name so as not to get confused.

During the game, my daughter and I noticed that most of the "travelers" accumulates in the same objects, and no one reaches some at all (for example, we have a bread shop). In this case, another task can be set for the child - to guess from the signs what properties the block must have so that it can still reach the bakery and find it among the others. This is also a very useful version of the game, be sure to try it.

  • Looking for treasure

I bring to your attention three options for finding treasure:

First, the easiest . You lay out several figures in front of the child, while, while the baby does not see, you hide some secret under one of the blocks, for example, a sticker or a cut-out picture. Then invite the child to find the treasure and report that the pirates hid it, for example, under a thick and rather big block or red and thin, i.e. Specify the search condition. The kid needs to guess what figure we are talking about.

In second version of the game the child hides the treasure. To guess where the treasure is located, an adult asks leading questions. The child answers yes or no.

The third version of the game Taisiya and I have the most favorite. Here, in order to find the treasure, you need to unravel a whole chain of conditions. I post the lesson on video.

  • Game "Magic Glass"

The lesson will be interesting from about 4 years old. Tell the child that you have a magic mirror / glass / box that can change the properties of the blocks, and offer to play magicians.

First version of the game . You work as a magician. Choose one figure and place a “magic glass” next to it (any attractive little thing can be used as a magical attribute). Then carry out a series of "magic rituals" and imperceptibly place another block on the other side of the glass (or put it in place of the previous one). The new block must have one property changed, all other characteristics are unchanged. Ask the kid to name which property of the block has changed.

The second version of the game . A child works as a magician. You ask or decide together with your child what property your magic glass will now change. For example, you decide that the form will change. When you close your eyes baby should put a new block with a modified shape(all other properties must be unchanged).

When the baby is comfortable with the activity, try to change two properties at the same time.

Well, I'll stop there, although the options for games with Gyenesh blocks, in my opinion, are inexhaustible. I will not tire of praising this wonderful educational material, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to you

I also want to draw your attention to Kuizener's sticks (Ozone, KoroBoom), they are often spoken of in the same context as Gyenes blocks, indeed these two materials complement each other perfectly and are even used simultaneously in some games. Kuizener's sticks clearly deserve a separate article

Didactic game "How much?"

Material: logical figures.
Purpose of the game: develop the ability to ask questions and develop the ability to highlight properties.
Game description: Children are divided into two teams. The teacher lays out the logical figures in any order and invites the children to come up with questions starting with the words "How much ..."
For every correct question, a chip. The team with the most chips wins.
Variants of questions: "How many big figures?" "How many red figures are in the first row?" (horizontally), "How many circles?" etc.

Didactic game " PAINTERS "

Material:
"Sketches of paintings" - sheets of large colored cardboard
additional details from cardboard to compose the composition of the picture;
block set
Purpose of the game:
development of the ability to analyze the shape of objects
development of the ability to compare according to their properties
development of artistic abilities (choice of color, background, arrangement (composition).
Game description:
Children are invited to "write pictures" according to sketches. One picture can be "painted" at once
several people. Children choose a "sketch" of the picture, paper for the background, details for the future picture, the necessary blocks. If the part is only outlined on the sketch (part outline), a thin block is selected, if the part is painted, a thick block is selected. So, for example, for a sketch of a picture with elephants, the child will take additional details: 2 elephant heads, the sun, a lake, the top of a palm tree, a cactus, an animal and blocks.
At the end of the work, the artists come up with a name for their paintings, arrange an exhibition
paintings, and the guide tells visitors of the exhibition what is shown in the picture.

Didactic game "SHOP"

Material: Goods (cards with the image of objects) Logical figures.
Purpose of the game:
developing the ability to identify and abstract properties
development of the ability to reason, argue your choice
Game description:

Children come to the store where big choice toys. Each child has 3 logical figures "money". For one "money" you can buy only one toy.
Buying rules: you can only buy a toy that has at least one property logical figure. The rule can be made more difficult to select a toy by two properties (for example, a large square, a blue square, etc.)

Didactic game "What changed"

Tasks:

Improve children's knowledge of geometric shapes, their color, size, thickness

Develop thinking.

Material: Gyenes block set.

Game progress: In front of the child, several figures are laid out on the table that need to be remembered, and then one of the figures disappears or is replaced by a new one, or two figures are swapped. The child should notice the changes.

Didactic game "Round dance"

Target: classifies blocks according to two to three features: color, shape; color - shape - size.

Material: a set of Gyenes logical blocks.

Game progress.

The teacher offers to line up magical figures in a cheerful round dance. The round dance will turn out beautiful and elegant.

Blocks are laid out in a circle. Any block is randomly taken, then a block is attached, in which one feature of the previous block will be present, and so on. The last block must match the first block in some way. In this case, the game ends - the round dance is closed.

Didactic game "Second row"

Tasks:

Develop the ability to analyze, highlight the properties of figures, find a figure that is different in one way.

Material: A set of Gyenesh logic blocks.

Game progress: Lay out in a row 5-6 any figures. Build a second row under them, but so that under each figure of the upper row there is a figure of a different shape (color, size); the same shape, but a different color (size); different in color and size; not the same shape, size, color.

Didactic game "Find the treasure"

Tasks : To improve children's knowledge of geometric shapes, their color, size, thickness. Develop thinking.

Material: Gyenes block set.

We lay out 8 Gyenes logical blocks in front of the child, and while he does not see, we hide the “treasure” under one of them (a coin, a pebble, a cut out picture, etc.). The child should ask you leading questions, and you can only answer “yes” or “no”: “The treasure under the blue block?” - "No", "Under the red?" - "Not". The child concludes that the treasure is under the yellow block, and asks further about the size, shape and thickness. Then the child hides the “treasure”, and the teacher asks leading questions.

Then the children themselves can play this game, competing in finding the treasure.

Didactic game "Game with one hoop"

Tasks: To develop the ability to split a set of one property into two subsets, to perform a logical operation "not".

Material: Hoop, set of Gyenes logic blocks.

Game progress: Before the start of the game, they find out which part of the game sheet is inside the hoop and outside it, set the rules: for example, arrange the pieces so that all the red pieces (and only them) are outside the hoop. After the arrangement of all the figures, two questions are asked: what figures lie inside the hoop? What figures were outside the hoop? (The answer is supposed to be: “all non-red pieces lie outside the hoop.”) When repeating the game, children can choose which blocks to put inside the hoop and which outside.

Didactic game "Game with two hoops"

Tasks: Developing the ability to split a set according to two compatible properties, to produce logical operations"not", "and", "or".

Material: 2 hoops, a set of Gyenes logic blocks.

Game progress: before starting the game, it is necessary to find out where are the four areas defined on the game sheet by two hoops, namely: inside both hoops; inside the red but outside the green hoop; inside the green but outside the red hoop and outside both hoops (these areas need to be circled with a pointer).

1.then called the rule of the game. For example, arrange the figures so that all red figures are inside the red hoop, and all round ones are inside the green hoop.

2. after solving a practical problem on the location of the figures, the children answer the questions: which figures lie inside both hoops; inside the green but outside the red hoop; It is advisable to play the game with two hoops many times, varying the rules of the game.

Note: In options 5 and 6, the common part is left blank. It is necessary to find out why there are no figures both red and green, and also there are no figures both round and square.

Didactic game "Let's settle in houses"

Tasks: Develop the ability to analyze, highlight the properties of figures, classify.

Material: A set of Gyenes logic blocks, tables depicting paths and houses

Game progress: Table number 1 is in front of the children. The child needs to help each figure get into his house, focusing on the signposts.

Didactic game "On your branch"

Tasks: Develop the ability to analyze, highlight the properties of figures, classify figures according to several criteria.

Material: Set of 24 figures (four shapes, three colors, two sizes). Each figure is the carrier of three important properties: shape, color, size, and in accordance with this, the name of the figure consists of the name of three properties: red, large rectangle; yellow, small circle; green, big square, etc.

Game progress: The figure shows a tree on which the figures should “grow”. To find out on which branch which figure will "grow", let's take, for example, a green, small rectangle and start moving it from the root of the tree up the branches. Following the color pointer, we must move the figure along the right branch. We came to a fork. Which branch to follow? On the right, which has a rectangle. We got to the next branch. Further, the Christmas trees show that a large figure should move along the left branch, and a small one along the right. So, we will go along the right branch. This is where a small green rectangle should “grow”. We do the same with the rest of the figures. Similarly, the game is played with the following figure.

Didactic game "Chain"

Target: Development of the ability to analyze, highlight the properties of figures, find a figure according to a given attribute.

Material: A set of Dyenysh logic blocks.

From an arbitrarily chosen figure, try to build as long a chain as possible. Chain building options:

    So that there are no figures of the same shape (color, size, thickness) nearby;

    So that there are no figures of the same shape and color nearby (in color and size, in size and thickness, etc.);

    So that nearby there are figures of the same size, but different in shape, etc .;

So that nearby there are figures of the same color and size, but of a different shape (the same size, but of a different color).

Didactic game "Help the fairy-tale hero"

Tasks:

Exercise children in grouping geometric shapes

    Develop observation, attention and memory

Exercise:

- Divide the shapes between fairy tale characters so that:

Pinocchio had all the blue squares

So that the Pencil gets all the yellow

So that Dunno gets all the yellow and big

Didactic game "Floors"

Program tasks : To develop the ability to classify and generalize geometric shapes by features. Practice counting. Develop orientation in space, attention, logical thinking.

Material : Blocks set.

Game progress:

We propose to lay out several figures in a row - 4-5 pieces. These are the people on the first floor. Now we are building the second floor of the house so that under each figure of the previous row there is a detail of a different color (or size, shape).

Option 2: A part of the same shape, but a different size (or color).

Option 3: we build a house with other details in color and size.

Game - Fairy tale "In the kingdom of blocks"

Material: Gyenes blocks, one box for three people.
Purpose: to introduce blocks, their properties, develop attention, the ability to identify, abstract properties (size, shape, thickness), imagination, creative thinking.
Game description: Children choose a color for their kingdom (yellow, blue, red). The host tells a fairy tale, and the children assign blocks to the roles of heroes, and build their kingdom out of them.
“In a certain kingdom, in a certain state, there lived a king. It was strong, big, thick and looked like a rectangle (children choose a block - a large thick rectangle). The king had a queen, very similar to him, only thinner (we choose a block - a large thin rectangle). They lived very happily, and they had two children similar to them, only small (small thick and thin rectangles). And then one day…”
Options: Further, the tale can be continued according to the children's idea or in accordance with the theme. (Let's go to the forest for mushrooms ..., We took a pet ... etc.)
In games with Dnesh blocks, it is very convenient to use cards with property symbols and logic cubes, presented in the Let's play together didactic set, as additional material.

Didactic game "Spaceship"
Material: hoops of red, blue, yellow colors, a large rocket triangle made of carpet or cardboard, cards with property symbols or logic cubes, Gyenes blocks.
Target: the formation of the operation of classification and generalization of blocks according to one to four signs, the development of logical thinking, attention.
Game description: hoops are laid out on the floor in a row, a rocket triangle is added. Using cards with property symbols or logic cubes(except for color) a condition is defined for each of the hoops.

Rules:To put a spacecraft into orbit, it is necessary to fill all three stages of the launch vehicle with fuel, in accordance with the condition.
Game options:
First option. Children are divided into teams, each of which fills in its own hoop, the conditions in the hoops are equivalent in complexity.
Second option. Children independently choose a hoop that they will fill in and / or a condition by throwing a die, the conditions in the hoops are different in degree of difficulty.
Third option. You can fill in any hoops, the conditions in the hoops can be either the same or different levels of difficulty.
Difficulty level:
Simple: the condition specifies only the color of the hoop, or one more property is added (shape, size, thickness).
Medium: 2 kinds of property symbol cards are used, such as shape and size, shape and thickness, etc.
High: All property symbol cards are used, including negation.
Additional material:sounds of a jet engine, riddles about space.

The game "Decorate the Christmas tree with beads"

Material: Image of a Christmas tree, 15 cards with symbols, a set of logical figures
Purpose: Development of the ability to identify and abstract properties. Ability to read a diagram. Strengthening ordinal counting skills.

Game progress: It is necessary to decorate the Christmas tree with beads. There should be 5 rows of beads on the Christmas tree. Each row has three beads. The number on the card indicates the serial number of the string of beads (we start counting from the top of the Christmas tree). Let's hang the first row of beads (cards with the number 1). The filled circle shows us the place of the bead on the string. The first bead is a small yellow circle, the second is a large yellow square, the third is small
yellow triangle. We hang the rest of the beads in the same way.

Mobile game "Cat and Mouse"

Purpose: to develop the ability to "read" cards with symbols of properties, to identify the necessary properties, to stimulate the physical activity of children.
Materials: tokens on ribbons with properties symbols for Cat and Mice.
Game progress: Children (4-9 people) choose tokens for mice and put them over their heads, stand in a round dance. In the middle is the cat "Vaska" (you can choose it using V. Levin's counting rhymes). Next to him are tokens for a cat.
The round dance moves with the words:
- Mice lead a round dance,
A cat is napping on a couch.
Hush, mice, don't make noise, don't wake Cat Vaska.
Vaska the cat will wake up
And disperse the round dance.
On the last word, the cat quickly puts on one of the tokens and turns to the "mice". For them to see him. Token - information for mice, which "mice" the cat will kill. The rest of the mice are not afraid of the cat, they can have fun, tease Vaska. The caught mouse becomes a "cat" and the game continues.
Note: cards with property symbols can be used as tokens.
Difficulty levels: Start the game with the simplest color property, then make it more difficult by changing the properties and combining them. For example: a cat catches red and round mice.
High level of complexity - the presence of logical negation.

Didactic game "Find me"

Goal: Development of the ability to read the code designation of geometric shapes and find the corresponding code.
Material: A set of blocks, 3 copies of code cards (2 with a regular code, 1 with a negative code).
Game progress: Children are divided into two groups. One takes cards, the other takes blocks. The children of the first group take turns reading (decoding) the cards, the child from the second group, who has the corresponding block, comes out and shows a geometric figure.
It is possible to use the words:
"Blocks, different blocks Yellow, blue and red,
We all know them, Find me!

Didactic game "Snail"

Purpose: To exercise children in the classification of blocks according to two criteria; color and shape.
Material: playing field with a picture of a spiral or colored braid, a set of blocks.
Game progress: The teacher offers to build a house for the snail from magic figures for the children. The house will turn out elegant and beautiful. Laying out blocks starts from the middle of the spiral. One block is randomly taken, then a block is attached, in which one feature of the previous block will be present.

Didactic game "Domino"

Purpose: To develop the ability to highlight the properties of geometric shapes.
Material: Gyenes blocks.
This game can be played by several participants at the same time (but not more than 4). The blocks are divided equally among the players. Everyone makes a move in turn. If there is no figure, you need to skip the move. The first person to lay out all the pieces wins.
How to walk?
Figures of a different size (color, shape).
Shapes of the same color but a different size, or the same size but a different shape.
Figures of a different size and shape (color and size).
The same figures in color and shape, but a different size.
We walk with figures of a different color, shape, size, thickness.

Excerpts from one of the parent forums:

"Does anyone have these blocks? Do children like it or what is the maximum they use for - is it building houses? I'm thinking, to order such a box or not? Again, only they will scatter all over the apartment? ”...

*

“I don't think it's necessary. It is good to use these blocks in kindergartens in the classroom, otherwise there is little interesting in them, geometric figures and nothing more.

Well, what can I say? Anything can be scattered...

What are logical blocks? And why are they needed?

In many countries of the world, didactic material is successfully used " Logic blocks", developed by the Hungarian psychologist and mathematician Gyönes for the development of logical thinking in children.

Over the past decade, this material has been gaining more and more recognition from teachers and parents in our country. You can buy LBD in the store of educational games.

Gyenes logic blocks are a set of 48 geometric shapes:

a) four shapes (circle, triangle, square, rectangle);

b) four colors (red, blue, yellow);

c) two sizes (large, small);

d) two types of thickness (thick, thin).

Each geometric figure is characterized by four features: shape, color, size, thickness. There are no identical figures in the set.

Many logic figure games use cards with property symbols. Acquaintance of a child with the symbols of properties is an important step in mastering the entire sign culture, literacy of mathematical symbols, programming, etc. The cards conditionally indicate the properties of the blocks (color, shape, size, thickness). There are 11 cards in total. And 11 cards with negation of properties, for example: Not red.

Unfortunately, there are no such cards in the store set, but they can be downloaded.

Gyenes Blocks is a universal educational game. Kids love to play with blocks! As the experience of Russian teachers in working from 2 to 10 years old shows, games with logical blocks allow:

* Introduce the shape, color, size, thickness of objects.

* Develop spatial representations.

How to play with LBD?

In the box with the blocks there is a small manual, which is very schematic. You can get acquainted with logical blocks in detail with the help of books: "Let's play" (edited by A.A. Stolyar. - M., 1991, 1996), as well as "Logic and mathematics for preschoolers" (edited by Z.A. Mikhailova - St. Petersburg, 1996, 2000).

I will share my own experience of working with children as a methodologist - practice leader and home teacher.

All games and game exercises can be divided into 4 groups with gradual complication:

To develop skills to identify and abstract properties;

To develop skills to compare objects by their properties;

To develop the actions of classification and generalization;

To develop the ability to logical actions and operations.

All games and exercises, with the exception of the fourth group (logical), are not addressed to a specific age. After all, the children of one calendar age may have different psychological age. Some of them reach the next stage in intellectual development a little, and some much earlier than other peers, but everyone must go through all these stages. If the child cannot cope with the task on his own, then it is necessary to simplify the task, and so on until the child solves the problem. An independent and successful decision will be the step from which you should start moving forward.

If, however, children are kept at a certain level or prematurely given more challenging games and exercises, then interest in classes will disappear. Children are drawn to mental tasks when they are difficult for them, but doable.

It is good for an adult to become an equal partner during the games. I didn’t edify, but I played! Before starting games and exercises, let the child independently use them at his own discretion in games. As a rule, children are happy to build something out of them. In the course of such games with blocks, the baby will establish that they have a different shape, color, size and thickness. When communicating with a child, it is better to use the word “figure” than the word “block”.

Our favorite games:

"CODE LOCK" or "THIRD SUPER"

3 figures are laid out on a cardboard. Two can be combined according to some property, one is superfluous.

Anything can be behind the castle: a surprise, an entrance to a room, a road for a walk...

The child must open the lock: guess which button to press and explain why.

For example: There is an extra red piece. Because they are both yellow. Click on the red figurine!

"FIND THE TREASURE" or "WHERE THE PUPPY HID"

There are 8 blocks in front of the child, a coin or a picture is hidden - a puppy.

1 option

The treasure hunter turns away, the leader hides the treasure under one of the blocks. The treasure hunter searches for it, naming the various properties of the blocks. If the kid finds a treasure, he takes it for himself, and hides a new treasure under one of the blocks. The host at first plays the role of a treasure hunter himself and shows how to search for a treasure. Names various block properties. For example, the host asks:

Treasure under the blue block?

No, the child replies.

under yellow?

Under red?

Under the big one?

Under the circle?

The one who finds the most treasures wins. When the game is repeated, the blocks change, their number increases.

Option 2

The host says: the puppy hid under a red, large circle. You can write a letter with cards - symbols:

"PICK BY COLOR"

Toddlers of two to four years old are good at learning classification. (Color, shape, size, thickness).

In this lesson, the children collected colorful leaves for the hedgehog and put them in boxes according to color.

"CITY OF GEOMETRIC FIGURES"

The kids have arrived to visit Mickey Mouse! Look what a city of figures it is!

There is an area of large houses and an area of small houses. Each area has streets of different colors. The houses have different shapes.

Serezha is looking for a rectangular house in the area of small houses, on Red Street.

And Katyusha went to visit the mole. And he tells all the kids: “The mole lives in a square house on a blue street in the area of \u200b\u200blittle houses”! Four-year-olds walk around such a city with interest, distinguish between times, three properties of the figures at once. What is difficult for some first-graders in the School 2100 program!

"HIGHWAY (BUILD THE ROAD)"

There is a sign in front of the child - the rule for building a track.

He builds a path according to the rule: he alternates blocks according to color or shape: first red, then square, then yellow, and triangular. The kid learns to highlight the property, to abstract from other signs.

To keep the interest of children, it is good to offer various game and practical tasks: we built a path to the box with a surprise, climbed over the bridge over the river, laid out a path of ice in the palace Snow Queen to help Kai and Gerda escape.

And in this lesson, the guys got into a swamp. Build a strong bridge. Between themselves, the blocks should be similar in two ways. For example: the pieces are both blue and fat.

There are games and exercises with blocks that are designed for older preschoolers. They will help develop in children the ability to divide sets into classes according to compatible properties, develop the ability to perform logical operations “not”, “and”, “or”, the ability to use these operations to build correct statements, encode and decode information about the properties of objects.

"RIDDLES WITHOUT WORDS"

We will help the child learn to decipher (decode) information about the presence or absence of certain properties of objects according to their sign-symbolic designations.

On this lesson - the journey, the children got to the magician's house. You must first disenchant him, and then knock.

For example: the first figure should be triangular, yellow, small and fat.

But the second one is round, red, not fat and not small. So, we will look for a red, large, thin circle.

It's great when ingenuity helps! Now you can see tricks!

AT senior group we organized a competition game program"Tic-tac-toe". One of the tasks for the teams was "Building a castle".

The teams analyzed the drawing of the castle, selected the necessary bricks. The team whose castle was built quickly and correctly won!

"SPLIT THE BLOCKS"

The game will teach you to split the set into two or three compatible properties, to perform logical operations "not", "and", "or".

Trouble in the forest! The fox, the wolf and the bear can't share Santa's gifts! Santa Claus told the fox to take all the small gifts, the bear - all the fat ones, and the wolf - the round ones.

But the trouble is, there are gifts that are both round and small at the same time. Both the fox and the wolf should take them! And there are gifts and round, and small, and thick! They can play all the animals together.

Three intersecting hoops (ribbons, ropes) helped us figure it out - find out where whose gifts are, who can use what on the rights of joint ownership!

Lots of interesting games! Children always enjoy solving logic puzzles. There are also favorite games that you want to play again and again.

And you will notice how the baby becomes smarter and smarter. How it will surprise you with the speed and flexibility of thinking! Good luck!

"Gyenes logic blocks - universal didactic material".

In preschool didactics there is a huge variety of didactic materials. However, few give the opportunity to form in a complex all the mental skills that are important for mental, in particular mathematical, development, and at the same time throughout the entire preschool childhood. The most effective tool is the logical blocks developed by the Hungarian psychologist and mathematician Gyenesh for early logical propaedeutics, and above all for preparing children's thinking for learning mathematics.

"What are Gyenes blocks":

In the methodological and popular science literature, this material can be found under different names: "logical figures", "logical cubes", "logical blocks", but in each of the names the focus on the development of logical thinking is emphasized. The flat version of logical blocks (logical figures) is used in primary school when studying mathematics.

What is this material?

The set of logical blocks consists of 48 three-dimensional geometric shapes that differ in shape, color, size and thickness.

Thus, each figure is characterized by four properties: color, shape, size and thickness. There are not even two figures in the set that are identical in all properties. Specific properties (red, blue, yellow, rectangular, round, triangular, square) and differences in size and thickness of figures are such that children easily recognize and name.

The set of blocks includes: 12 circles - 6 large (red thick, red thin, blue thick, blue thin, yellow thick, yellow thin) and 6 small ones (red thick, red thin, blue thick, blue thin, yellow thick, yellow thin ), 12 of the same squares, 12 rectangles, 12 triangles.

Logical blocks help the child master mental operations and actions that are important both in terms of pre-math preparation and in terms of general intellectual development. These actions include: identifying properties, abstracting them, comparing, classifying, generalizing, encoding and decoding, as well as logical operations “not”, “and”, “or”. Moreover, using blocks, you can lay in the minds of kids the beginning of an elementary algorithmic culture of thinking, develop their ability to act in the mind, master ideas about numbers and geometric shapes, and spatial orientation.

A set of logical blocks makes it possible to guide children in their development from operating with one property of an object to operating with two, three and four properties. In the process of various actions with blocks, children first master the ability to identify and abstract one property in objects (color, shape, size, thickness), compare, classify and generalize objects according to one of these properties. Then they master the ability to analyze, compare, classify and generalize objects at once by two properties (color and shape, shape and size, size and thickness, etc.), a little later - by three (color, shape and size; shape, size and thickness; color, size and thickness) and four properties (color, shape, size and thickness). At the same time, in the same exercise, you can always vary the rules for completing the task, taking into account the capabilities of children. For example, several children are building paths from the bear's house to help Mashenka run away to grandparents. But one child is invited to build a path so that there are no blocks of the same shape nearby (operating with one property), another - so that there are no blocks of the same shape and color next to each other (operating with two properties at once), the third - so that there are no identical blocks nearby, color and size of blocks (operating with three properties at the same time).

Depending on the age of the children, you can use not the whole set, but some part of it: first, the blocks are different in shape and color, but the same in size and thickness (12 pieces), then different in shape, color and size, but the same in size. thickness (24 pieces) and at the end - a complete set of figures (48 pieces). And this is very important. After all, the more diverse the material, the more difficult it is to abstract some properties from others, and therefore, to compare, classify, and generalize.

With logical blocks, the child performs various actions: lays out, swaps, cleans, hides, searches, divides between "quarreled" toys, etc., and in the course of actions he argues.

Since logical blocks are standards of shapes - geometric shapes (circle, square, equilateral triangle, rectangle), they can be widely used to familiarize children, starting with early age, with the shapes of objects and geometric figures, in solving many other developmental problems.

An intellectual journey will be exciting and joyful for children if, firstly, you always remember that an adult should be an equal participant in games or exercises, capable, like a child, of making mistakes, and secondly, if you do not rush to point out mistakes to children.

Before starting games and exercises, give children the opportunity to get to know the logic blocks on their own. Let them use them as they please different types activities. In the process of various manipulations with the blocks, children will find that they have a different shape, color, size, thickness. After such an independent acquaintance, you can move on to games and exercises.

Sample block games

Search for identical shapes.

You can even play with kids. Invite the child to decompose the figures according to their properties, to collect all the red ones, or all the square ones.

Treat a toy.

The child needs to arrange the figures in such a way that each toy has figures of only the same thickness, the same size, etc.

House.

You will need a sheet of paper and a pencil. Draw a sheet into 6 squares - these will be rooms. In 5 rooms, put blocks of certain colors, and leave the sixth empty. The child must guess what color the figure should be in this room.

Find the same one.

Show the child any selected block and ask him to find the same one. You can complicate the task and search for shapes by two identical features (thickness and color).

What is superfluous.

Lay out 4-5 blocks in front of the baby. There is one extra in a row - it may differ in color, shape. The kid must explain why he thinks that this figure is superfluous.

Circle game.

Draw a circle. The kid should place all the red figures inside the circle, and all the blue ones outside.

Tracks.

Lay out a strip of 4-5 blocks, lay out figures of a different size (color, shape) above each figure.

Show me.

Ask the baby to show - not a circle and not a square, not a blue and not a thick block, not a round and not a red one, etc.

Chain game

Teach to lay out blocks with a certain sequence: blue, red, blue, red. Or circle, triangle, circle, triangle. Add a third shape. You can complicate the task - lay out the chain, but skip the middle. Offer to assemble a path so that each next figure differs from the previous one in one sign.

When the child masters the simplest logical operations, move on to more complex tasks.

Guess!

Hide one shape. The child must guess which block is hidden, he asks leading questions, the answer to which is only “yes” or “no”. For example, a child asks - is this figure square? No. Cleans up everything together round shapes. - Is she red? No. Removes red.

Groups.

Draw two intersecting circles. All blue figures can lie in the left circle, and all triangles in the right one. In the middle you need to put figures that fit both the first and second circle. The problem will arise when the child takes the blue triangle, where to put it? Well, if the child himself guesses that the figure belongs to both sets. This task only seems simple, but it is very important for the formation of the ability to divide many objects into different groups.

Unraveling the figure by sign- symbolic images. The child rolls the dice and looks for a matching figure.

Score.

Goods - cards with the image of objects. The child comes to the store with toys. He has 3 logical figures "money". For one "money" you can buy one toy in which there is at least one property of a logical figure. For example, if “money” is a blue triangle, then a child can buy a toy that contains either a blue triangle or just a triangle. The rules are complicated by the choice of a toy according to 2, 3 properties.

Architect.

The child must develop a project for a children's playground. The material for construction is selected in strict accordance with the rules. For example: the child takes any block. Let's say a blue big thick block. "Beginning" will tell you where we start building from. In a rhombus, the question is: is your block red? - No, we move to the right. The question of the second diamond is your block round? - no, we get to the end of the scheme. This block can be used during construction.

By analogy, you can come up with your own, new versions of games, there are also special albums with which your lessons will become much easier, since there are already games specially selected for age.

Didacticgame "How much?"

Didactic game" PAINTERS"

Material:
. "Sketches of paintings" - sheets of large colored cardboard
. additional details from cardboard to compose the composition of the picture;
. block set
Purpose of the game:
. development of the ability to analyze the shape of objects
. development of the ability to compare according to their properties
. development of artistic abilities (choice of color, background, arrangement (composition).

Purpose of the game:
. developing the ability to identify and abstract properties
. development of the ability to reason, argue your choice
Game description:

Children come to the store, where a large selection of toys is presented. Each child has 3 logical figures "money". For one "money" you can buy only one toy.
Buying rules: you can only buy a toy that has at least one property of a logical figure. The rule can be made more difficult to select a toy by two properties (for example, a large square, a blue square, etc.)

Didactic game "What changed"

W adachi:

Improve children's knowledge of geometric shapes, their color, size, thickness

Develop thinking.

Material: Gyenes block set.

Game progress: In front of the child, several figures are laid out on the table that need to be remembered, and then one of the figures disappears or is replaced by a new one, or two figures are swapped. The child should notice the changes.

Didactic game"Round dance"

Target: classifies blocks according to two or three criteria: color, shape; color - shape - size.

Tasks: To improve children's knowledge of geometric shapes, their color, size, thickness.

Tasks: Development of the ability to split a set according to two compatible properties, to perform logical operations “not”, “and”, “or”.

    So that there are no figures of the same shape (color, size, thickness) nearby;

    So that there are no figures of the same shape and color nearby (in color and size, in size and thickness, etc.);

    So that nearby there are figures of the same size, but different in shape, etc .;

So that nearby there are figures of the same color and size, but of a different shape (the same size, but of a different color).

Didactic game "Help the fairy-tale hero"

Tasks:

Exercise children in grouping geometric shapes

    Develop observation, attention and memory

Exercise:

Divide the figures between fairy-tale characters so that:

Pinocchio had all the blue squares

So that the Pencil gets all the yellow

So that Dunno gets all the yellow and big

Didactic game "Floors"

Program tasks: To develop the ability to classify and generalize geometric shapes by features. Practice counting. Develop orientation in space, attention, logical thinking.

Material: Blocks set.

Target: introduce blocks, their properties, develop attention, the ability to identify, abstract properties (size, shape, thickness), imagination, creative thinking.
Game description: Children choose a color for their kingdom (yellow, blue, red). The host tells a fairy tale, and the children assign blocks to the roles of heroes, and build their kingdom out of them.
“In a certain kingdom, in a certain state, there lived a king. It was strong, big, thick and looked like a rectangle (the children choose a block - a large thick rectangle).

With the help of cards with symbols of properties or logical cubes (except for color), the condition for each of the hoops is determined.

Rules: To put a spacecraft into orbit, all three stages of the launch vehicle must be filled with fuel, in accordance with the condition.
Additional material: sounds of a jet engine, riddles about space.

The game "Decorate the Christmas tree with beads"

Material: Image of a Christmas tree, 15 cards with symbols, a set of logical figures
Target: Developing the ability to identify and abstract properties. Ability to read a diagram. Strengthening ordinal counting skills.

Game progress: We need to decorate the Christmas tree with beads.

Target: to develop the ability to "read" cards with symbols of properties, to identify the necessary properties, to stimulate the motor activity of children.
Materials: tokens on ribbons with symbols of properties for the Cat and Mice.
Difficulty levels: you should start the game with the simplest color property, then complicate it by changing the properties and combining them. For example: a cat catches red and round mice.
High level of complexity - the presence of logical negation.

Didactic game "Find me"

Target: Development of the ability to read the code designation of geometric shapes and find the corresponding code.
Material: A set of blocks, 3 copies of code cards (2 - with a regular code, 1 - with a negation code).
