Developers computer games do not doze off and annually delight gamers with projects in a different setting. And since 2014, all those who have long dreamed of going on a journey to distant star systems, to explore the vast outer space, should try a project called Elite Dangerous. System requirements games will need to be known to everyone who decides to board a spaceship.
What do you need to play on the lowest settings?
In order to immerse yourself in the exciting game world of fictional, and possibly existing worlds, planets and space, your computer must meet the minimum conditions:
- Pre-installed operating system - "seven" and later versions.
- A processor with four cores, each of which clocks at least 2.0 GHz.
- Random access memory (RAM) must have at least 4 gigabytes.
- Video card memory cannot be less than 1 gigabyte.
- The version of the DirectX libraries must be at least eleventh.
For those gamers who want to play Elite Dangerous with friends or in multiplayer mode, the system requirements require a broadband mobile Internet connection.
If you connect to the network via a modem, then do not count on a stable gameplay. Average FPS with hardware that barely meets the requirements presented will be around 18-24 frames per second. If you take into account this and the low speed, then it will become almost impossible to play in network mode.
For a comfortable and eye-pleasing game
To enjoy gameplay, in all its beauty to contemplate the picturesque space landscapes, without preload screens to go to secluded corners of the Universe, your personal computer must have:
- Pre-installed 64-bit OS version 7 or later.
- Quad-core processor from Intel version Core i7-3770K, or from AMD modification or better representatives.
- Random access memory with at least 8 gigabytes of memory.
- A gaming graphics card with at least 2 GB of memory, preferably from NVIDIA, but also from AMD Radeon version R9 280X or later.
- Additional free hard disk space of at least 7 gigabytes.
If the system requirements above are met for Elite Dangerous on PC, you will be able to get 30 fps or more. But, again, to play with friends or plunge into space battles with hundreds of other players, you will need a stable broadband Internet connection. The same requirements apply to all add-ons released to the game: Wings, Powerplay, CQC and Horizons.
Touch the vast spaces
The space simulator does not stand still and develops day by day. From the very beginning, the developers planned to give players the opportunity to dive into the vast space and feel like a pilot
That is why the company has continued to modernize the game lately so that gamers can plunge into the world with the help of HTC Vive and Oculus Rift technologies. But not everyone will be able to enjoy it, because the new system requirements for Elite Dangerous are as follows:
- Only 64-bit versions of operating systems.
- A processor with four cores from Intel, version Core i7-3770K or FX-4350 from AMD with a clock speed of at least 3.5 and 4.3 GHz, respectively.
- At least 16 gigabytes of RAM.
- Video card only from the manufacturer NVIDIA of the GeForce generation with 4 gigabytes of memory.
- Additional free hard disk space is eight GB.
I must say that such information was published on the network by one of the companies that create glasses and helmets for complete immersion in virtual reality. Judging by this, the developers are unhappy with the system requirements in the Elite Dangerous game, and want to tighten them, but make the project indistinguishable from reality.
Mission Control
To play, you must have a keyboard and mouse - this will be enough to get the "standard" pleasure from the game. Control over the ship with a gamepad is also welcome, but in order to plunge headlong into the atmosphere of the project, it is better to get a joystick.
It will be much easier and more interesting to dodge aimed projectiles, wreckage of wrecked spaceships and asteroids using the joystick. If you buy it for playing Elite Dangerous, the system requirements of the operating system will not make you resent - you will enjoy it, despite the low-level graphics.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS, HARDWARE AND PERIPHERALS
PLATFORMS
Elite: Dangerous planned to be released on personal computers running either of the two modern versions of the operating system Windows Windows 7 and Windows 8 (p.p. future versions will be updated over time).
Approximately three months after the release of the simulator (i.e. somewhere in 2015), it is planned to release a version for computers Apple Macintosh operating system OS X(a beta test is also planned).
In the future, it is possible to release versions for other platforms and operating systems.
The test version of the game was released only for the Windows operating system.
It is planned that by purchasing the simulator, users will be able at any time and no extra charge download any available version, regardless of what platform it was created for.

The simulator can use at least the following control devices: mouse, keyboard, joystick.
What joystick specifications are recommended?
The simulator has 5 axes of maneuverability, including vertical and lateral horizontal movement (the so-called "strafe"), plus traction.
Therefore, ideally, a device for both hands is welcome, and for the left, except for the throttle (engine control knob), it is desirable to have 1-2 more axles.
You can use simpler devices, but this will reduce the number of maneuver options.
3D AND VIRTUAL REALITY, VIEW CONTROL
The game supports: 3D modes, Oculus Rift, TrackIR5.
Supported 3D modes:
- built-in 3D rendering support for use with 3D TVs/monitors,
- horizontal stereo pair (side-by-side) shutter glasses,
- anaglyph 3D glasses with colored glasses,
- Oculus Rift virtual reality helmet.
Current issues:
- NVIDIA 3D Vision technology is not yet supported, but if it is screwed, they will notify.
