When we encounter a problem in our personal or professional fields, we have a perfectly natural desire to understand its causes and find the best solution as soon as possible. Someone turns to a psychotherapist, someone - for advice to a friend, someone goes to a fortune teller.
"Symbolon" is a completely unique deck of cards, because it contains all these roles, and at the same time allows you to diagnose this or that situation very quickly, using a surprisingly diverse set of symbols and archetypes. At first, they can be mistaken for a variety of notorious tarot cards, but everything is much more interesting than you can imagine. Let's figure it out.
The Symbolon deck (in the esoteric environment it is called an oracle) was the result of many years of work by German astrologers and psychologists. It was created as a "game of memories", as if referring us to the image of the goddess Mnemosyne, who, according to the beliefs of the ancient Greeks, helped to keep in mind everything ever seen and heard. The authors have repeatedly repeated that the main goal of working with this deck is to help a person understand his inner world, which is so full of dark nooks and crannies and contradictions. Thanks to vivid images and archetypes (for example, "Queen", "Jester" or "Vampire"), cards raise fragments from the subconscious and the unconscious to the light of the "spotlight" of consciousness. Sometimes what they show to our eyes can be frightening, but it is this straightforwardness that I like so much in working with them. They boldly show our fears, impulses, internal blocks, emotional level, as well as the potential and options for the development of events when making a decision.
It is interesting that the deck perfectly helps to work with any sphere of a person’s life - from personal to professional, - and at the same time, the main emphasis is not on external moments (for example, other people’s feelings towards us), but on the inner world of a particular person, becoming excellent assistant in personal therapy and life coaching. Also, in “Symbolon” there is no excessive ornateness and limited wording, as, for example, with Tarot cards, and the presence of astrological symbols gives even greater variability of interpretations, which, as an astropsychologist, cannot but rejoice me.
Well, putting aside my personal opinion a little, I’ll tell you what the deck of astro-archetypal cards “Symbolon” consists of.
It can be distinguishedtwo groups:
AT first group- 12 cards corresponding to the signs of the zodiac from Aries to Pisces. They are "pure" astrological archetypes. Even if you do not understand astrology, it will not be difficult for you to roughly imagine their meanings. Further, on these cards, the symbol of the sign of the zodiac is indicated at the top, and the symbol of the planet, the ruler of this sign, is indicated below.
Second groupconsists of 66 cards. They represent a symbolic image of the union of the main astrological archetypes in pairs. In the upper corners of the map are the symbols of the two signs of the zodiac, in the lower corners are the symbols of the corresponding ruling planets.
All cards, according to their elements (water, fire, earth, air) and symbolic meaning, are painted in the appropriate colors. For example, where action and aggression predominate, the main color there is red; where sensuality, intuitiveness are warm bluish-pinkish shades. The role of details is also important in the pictures - the presence of roads, mountains, rivers, objects - they all make the interpretation of the image more concrete. In addition, each card has a double meaning - it helps to consider each archetype from several sides, as, in fact, our multifaceted life filled with contradictions.
Scope of application of "Symbolon":
1. Psychological counseling and psychotherapy.
1) Working with subpersonalities (archetypes). This method is offered by the authors of the deck themselves. P. Orban writes that we all consist of different subpersonalities, separated from each other in the soul and in the mind. Many of them are unknown to our consciousness. They exist in our unconscious and often noticeably affect our lives. Cards, thanks to archetypal symbolism, can help a person see which of the subpersonalities in a given topic dominates, or, on the contrary, is repressed. Contemplating a drawing, an image, consciousness can more easily understand its features and motivation, it is easier to recognize it, “remember” and integrate it. (N.Frolova)
2) Narrative methodology(telling a story, "getting out" of your problem, looking at it from the side and even, for example, projecting yourself onto the image of an abstract hero)
3) Using the deck as oracle. You can predict and analyze a variety of situations and relationships. But I still believe that the future is variable, and the only thing that makes sense to deal with is the present, in which all our potential is located. And fortune-telling for the future is, rather, shooting into the air, looking at one of a dozen possibilities. However, to each his own.
4) Use as a tool analysis of karmic interactions, regressions into past lives. I can say that my experience with regressions with the help of "Symbolon" was very inspiring and intense. This is definitely an important area for the use of maps.

2. Politics, social processes, world work.
Despite the fact that I indicated above the greater potential of maps in individual psychological work, I can say with confidence that my experiments with the diagnosis of social processes were very successful. Questions that don't make sense to ask « Simbolon» (from the authors of the deck):
1)
When will I (or this person) finally meet the woman (man) of my dreams?
2)
When will the promotion happen?
3)
Can I win this lawsuit (or what can I do to win it)?
These questions do not make sense, because the answer is expected from the outside world (like a future forecast).
Even if you ask such questions, you are unlikely to understand the answers to them.
Questions need to be rephrased in terms of an internal approach, i.e. they must be given to their inner "I", their unconscious.
If you reformulate the questions above, you get the following options:
1) What's stopping me inside of me from meeting the right person (or finding the right wife)?
Or: Why do I not currently have a husband (wife)?
2)
What or who inside of me is holding me back from getting promoted at work?
Or: Who inside makes me stand still?
Or: Why do I feel the need to advance in my profession, what force makes me do it?
3)
Who inside of me is stopping me from winning this lawsuit?
Or: What qualities do I need to strengthen in order to win this process?
These examples show that the questions asked relate only to a person, to his inner world and the unconscious. And only he himself can provide answers, not the outside world. The idea is to find something just for yourself within yourself.
Most often a person wants to get simple and clear answers to your questions.« Symbolon » does not answer such questions: it does notnot a single card that would answerresponded to the question “Yes” / “No” or “Good” / “P bad."

The first is the accuracy of divination, the second is its unusualness. What is there to hide - the names of the cards, their semantic load, the visual range itself - they can only be admired.
If we turn to the history of the word Simbolon, then according to one of the versions it is as follows. In ancient times, when Greek men had to leave their native land for many years - this was due to constant wars - they broke an earthen vessel as a memory of themselves. Having chosen two matching fragments located nearby, they took one with them, and left the other to their beloved or just close people, family. After all, it also happened that one could stay on a campaign for five or even ten years. The shard was a guarantee that, upon returning, these two pieces could be attached to each other and thereby not only make sure that they were waiting for you correctly, keeping the shard, but also, in principle, be recognized.
