Often inexperienced players, hitting the heavy tank to the top of the list, give in to the feeling of "I'm in a tank" and fearlessly ride on the enemy, hoping for strong armor. Indeed, it is unlikely that tanks below your level will be able to pierce you in the forehead, unless, of course, they use “gold” shells, and at low levels, almost no one uses them.

But, firstly, without the support of allies, you will be easily surrounded and killed, because the sides and stern of all tanks break through much easier. Moreover, even if you only expose your forehead, under a real flurry of shells, even he may not be able to resist, especially if the enemy can hit the lower frontal part, which is always rather mediocrely armored. Secondly, don't forget about enemy self-propelled guns, which are capable of dismantling even a very armored enemy, as their shells inflict damage even through thick armor, and they can also hit you on the roof, the armor of which may simply be minimal.

Having gone to the hangar after such a "rush" ten times, many players begin to make another mistake: they stand somewhere in the bushes near the base and start shooting at someone else's light. Or hide behind shelters, fearing enemy self-propelled guns. This leads to disastrous results. If you are at the bottom of the list, then you simply will not benefit the team, and you yourself will lose most of the silver and experience that you could get by playing correctly. If you are at the top of the list, then most likely your wrong actions will lead to the defeat of the entire team.

Since you are on a heavy tank, you should be on the first line, that is, the first to meet the enemy. It does not matter here whether your team is attacking or on the defensive in this direction. Thick armor allows you to receive non-penetration and ricochets much more often than medium tanks or tank destroyers. While the enemy will unsuccessfully try to break through your armor, the allies will be able to damage them and outflank them, and light tanks will probably even be able to break through to enemy self-propelled guns, highlight them and even destroy them. You also have the highest HP, so you can survive more damage penetrations than other team members.

Thus, you absolutely cannot stand in the bushes near the base. But one should not go thoughtlessly against the enemy either. Remember that World of Tanks is team game, so you have to play a part in the team and not go it alone. A heavy tank is less dependent on other team members than, for example, a firefly or self-propelled guns, but it still depends.

To get maximum non-penetration and ricochets, there are a few simple tips. Do not expose the sides and stern to the enemy. The strongest part of the tank is the gun mantlet, so try to expose it to enemy shots. The forehead of the tank hull always consists of the lower and upper frontal parts, which form a kind of wedge at the junction. If the upper frontal part of heavy tanks is well armored, then the lower frontal part is much thinner, so even not very good guns can penetrate it. Therefore, the lower frontal part must be hidden behind a variety of objects, bumps, terrain folds.

A good way to increase the chance of not penetrating or ricocheting is to stand in a diamond shape. It is necessary to turn the hull of the tank so that the enemy is forced to pierce the forehead at an additional angle. The enemy in this case may try to pierce you into the side, but it will be at a very sharp angle, so the enemy is unlikely to succeed, or the caterpillar will absorb the damage.

If you play a heavy tank, then you are priority goal for enemy self-propelled guns for several reasons. First, you move slowly, so it's easier to hit you. But the biggest advantage of our machine is mobility. Soviet medium tank T-44 World of Tanks has a good top speed, is able to develop it quickly thanks to excellent dynamics, and our maneuverability is at the highest level.

Now let's look at the armament of this unit. There really is something to talk about here, because for the T-44 the gun is available in two versions: top and pre-top.

So, first, let's look at the tier eight (top) cannon and it is characterized by the fact that it has a very weak penetration by both the base BB and the gold, but at the same time a very impressive alpha strike.

At high alpha, the advantages of this weapon end. With this gun on board, the T-44 World of Tanks has a small DPM, it becomes very oblique, and the vertical aiming angles are only -5 degrees, which is also very uncomfortable.

As for the pre-top gun, most owners of the T-44 WoT play with it, and this option can rightfully be considered the most correct. Let's start with the fact that there are also certain problems with armor penetration here, but with ordinary BBs you can already confidently fight against classmates. Despite this, you still need to carry about 50% of the gold ammo to fight against nines and tens.

With this T-44 barrel, the tank has a lower alpha strike, but we will be able to deal about 1850 damage per minute, the result is far from the best, but already quite serious.

With accuracy, the situation here is also relative. We have a good ratio of dispersion and aiming time, these parameters are suitable, in contrast to poor stabilization, which will need to be corrected.

By the way, it is impossible not to notice that with the pre-top cannon, the Soviet T-44 medium tank has more comfortable vertical aiming angles, which will allow us to play from the turret.

Based on all of the above, we can conclude that the general parameters of our car are worthy of respect, but the weapons require close attention. At the same time, for the T-44, the tactics of head-on collisions do not justify themselves because of the armor. Compared to other medium tanks at the level, we have good armor, but we are far from heavy, so it is better to fire at a distance.

Standing on the second line of the T-44 WoT tank can play from disguise or use the terrain and win back the tower. True, in such situations, you still have to charge gold, because when shooting at a distance, penetration tends to fall.

But thanks to excellent mobility, small dimensions and not the best accuracy, the T-44 World of Tanks still feels best when shooting at close range. The main thing in this case, as already mentioned, is to act creatively. Deceive the enemy, drive in from unexpected directions, use your dynamics to push your opponent for a shot. In frontal collisions, try to wag your body, turn it around, but do not turn sideways.

Summing up all of the above, the Soviet medium tank T-44 WoT can also be called an excellent support vehicle, thanks to the same mobility and good rate of fire. But with the right actions, this unit may well show its teeth.
