We proxify TESO, for those who have a "difficult" Internet

Actually, the topic is about the unexpected question of the fact that, unlike its "launcher", the game itself in a proxy does not know how in any form.
This is manifested by the same "error for all cases" Error 201, as a potential detection, I can only say that it pops up immediately without any delays.

(Error 201, with a suggestion to try again or move to support. I wonder what they will answer there ...?)

So, to solve this problem, we need a proxy program. There are a lot of them, but I recommend Proxifier.
If you don’t like it, you can try other options, but here I’ll just say that this one was not the first one that came to my hand (ProxyCap tortured it before), but the first one that was able to intercept the network requests of the game, not all of them will do, and what earned the browser without any advanced settings- this is not yet an indicator of performance.

Next, I will tell you how to set up Proxifier version v3.29 in the example on Windows10x64 (In theory, it should work equally well on Windows7x64, Win8x64, well, maybe except that you have to look for older versions of the program)

Actually the first - we put the proxifier itself, reboot Windows, run it.
At the first start, the settings and monitoring window should immediately pop up:

If this does not happen - look for a gray square in the system tray - double-click on it or RMB->Open Proxifier:

Go to the help->register menu and quack the proxy  . (enter any name, take the key from the keygen). You can not do this right away, by default it is set to a trial period of 30 days and does not remind you of this.

Customize:
1) Press the button "1" (see Fig. 1) and see the window:

Next, click the "Add" button and in the window that appears, enter the data of your proxy server:

Enter the proxy settings in the Address and Port fields, respectively, and also indicate its type in the list below. The picture shows an example for an HTTP proxy (as the most common option).
Note - you should not immediately worry about HTTP (S) proxies, the fact that such proxies work only with the HTTP protocol is nothing more than a myth, the only one generated and justified by the fact that there really are representatives in the zoo of such servers that cannot pass through themselves anything but HTTP.
Now you can click the "Check" button and check if everything is entered correctly by the built-in testing utility (which will try to access the Internet through the specified proxy):

2) Press the "2" button (see Fig. 1) and see the rules settings window:


Here you can go in two ways - just intercept the traffic of absolutely all programs, in this case, simply select the configured proxy in the "Action" field of the "Default" line in the drop-down list.
Or longer, if we do not want to let absolutely all programs on the Internet. Press the "Add" button:

Here in the "Name" we enter the name of the rule, in the "Applications" field we enter "eso64.exe", or we press the "Browse ..." button and select the game EXE that lies along the path: %Drive/folder where the game is installed%\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\eso64.exe, but in any case, Proxifier distinguishes applications only by the name of the EXE, ignoring the paths.
Leave the rest of the fields unchanged and just click "Ok". And we get our new rule as another line in the original list:


For which (similar to "Default" above) just select the proxy.

3) Press the button "3" (see Fig. 1) and see the DNS settings window:

Here we just do everything as shown in the picture. (This is how it should be by default). But if suddenly the browser (as a test) does not open the page, it may help to uncheck "Detect...automatically" and leave it on "Resolve...trough proxy", which forces the direction of DNS requests to the proxy server.

Everything. Now run TESO and it should work!
And if not, perhaps "your" proxy server really does not know anything except HTTP, but I will not consider these issues here and will only advise you to contact your provider and mention that the game needs a connection with the following addresses (in the format server:port):

METHOD 1: BASIC

1. In the archive you will find three folders that you need to copy to a directory:
   

   Windows: C:\Users\<Имя>. Mac: ~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns.

2. Open the UserSettings.txt file located in the following folder:

5. we try to close the program and open it on behalf of the administrator;
6. if it doesn’t help, just restart the computer and run the program again;

PS. To avoid problems, also make sure that the path to the addons folder does not contain Russian letters!
