"Atlas" is engaged in special communication, i.e. First of all, information security. The Center manufactures, installs and maintains secure means of communication and data transmission. Also he is responsible for support of information and telecommunication systems of state authorities, carries out certification of the equipment (January, 2013).
Story
The enterprise under different names, and subordinate to different departments, has existed since 1951.
In the 2000s, one of the major projects of the enterprise is the creation of communication and data transmission systems in the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Accounts Chamber, the Supreme and Constitutional Courts, the Federal Treasury and the Ministry of Finance. "Atlas" was engaged in the situational center of the President of Russia. This center is also responsible for information security in the production and execution of new generation passports.
At that time, the areas of activity of the enterprise were:
- development and implementation of systems and means of information protection,
- complexes of secure cellular communication,
- means of electronic document management,
- holographic security technologies,
- smart cards and systems based on them.
Atlas has developed and sells through the retail networks of MTS and Megafon operators a secure cell phone with crypto protection SMP-Atlas / 2. Also, these devices are supplied to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
2018: STC Atlas transferred to Avtomatika
Specializing in the development of hardware and software for state security systems, the Atlas Scientific and Technical Center lost in the spring of 2018 the status of a subordinate organization of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications and was transferred to the Avtomatika concern, which is in the control loop of Rostec. Information about this as a fait accompli on April 20, 2018 was distributed by the press service of the state corporation.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the Atlas legal entity, the founders of which are still declared by the Ministry of Communications and the Federal Property Management Agency, has been in the process of reorganization in the form of transformation since March 28, 2018.
From the point of view of Rostec, the transfer of Atlas to Avtomatika will make it possible to fully use the consolidated scientific, technical and production capabilities of both organizations in the development and production of new models of unified encryption equipment and special equipment.
2017
In November 2017, a decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin “On the property contribution Russian Federation to the Rostec State Corporation, in pursuance of which, on December 12, 2017, the Government issued an order to transform Atlas into a joint-stock company. In accordance with the latest document, this company should have 100% of the shares in federal ownership, and the block of shares itself should be transferred as a property contribution of the Russian Federation to Rostec - for their subsequent contribution to the authorized capital of the Avtomatika Concern joint-stock company in the form of payment additional shares placed by the concern in connection with the increase in its authorized capital.
2013
Competition for the position of CEO
At the beginning of January 2013, it became known that on January 15, 2013 there would be a competition for the position of General Director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Technical Center "Atlas"". Information about the competition was published on the website of the Ministry of Communications.
As Ekaterina Osadchaya, Director of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, explained to CNews, holding such a competition is due to the fact that Alexander Gridin, the current General Director of Atlas, is expiring. Also, the official representative of the ministry says that Alexander Gridin's work was satisfied with the communications department, and he himself submitted documents to participate in the selection of a new leader. The names of other participants in the competition are not disclosed. According to the Kontur-Focus service, since October 2012 Gridin has been the acting CEO of Atlas.
