Diablo 3 crusader sets. Diablo III theorycraft: crusader - commander. Why we like this development option

09 Jul Briar in Akkan: A theme for connoisseurs of the build. Hello crusaders. Please help to get detailed answers to ambiguous ones; not found on the forums and in Google; but very relevant, for me, questions. Build: Armor of Akkan (5 pieces) + Thorns of the Summoner (2 pieces). Questions: 1. Does area damage deal more than 100% damage? For example: I have an area damage of 120%, does this mean that with a blow (the "Punishment" skill) I will deal not 100%, but 120% damage to nearby enemies with my target? 2. Does area damage work on skills: Bombardment, Consecration (with runes for thorn damage)? 3. Cleaver weapon: its property "attacks deal 75%-100% of the damage of thorns" works on skills: Bombardment, Consecration? 4. Weapon "Cleaver": its property "attacks deal 75% -100% of the damage of spikes" works, in general, on skills; Or just a simple attack? 5. Weapon "Cleaver": its property "attacks deal 75%-100% of the damage of thorns" is multiplied with the rest of the thorn damage bonuses (during attacks), or added to them? Also, please answer a few more practical questions about this build (Akkan's Armor (5 pieces) + Summoner's Thorns (2 pieces)): 6. Which of the one-handed weapons (Cleaver, Pig Cutter, Doom Herald) will give more damage to monsters? And why (detailed answer, if possible with examples; please). 7. What are the attack speed breakpoints for getting procs of 2 pieces of the "Summoner's Thorns" set? Each build is interesting not only in terms of efficiency criteria, but also in terms of the specifics and mechanics of the game. This is what it may interest some players. Therefore, it should have a separate topic on the forum: for theoretical acquaintance, getting answers to specialized questions and discussing the features of the game with this build. On our forum there are topics on Briar in the Summoner. This is a slightly different build. Therefore, it makes no sense to look for exact answers to the above questions: there will be no information on 100% reliable; And there is no topic specifically for this build, which I find very sad - the build is interesting and playable both for rifts and for medium VP (no problem, in half the time, I pass 84 VP (without caldesans). Now, such a topic, we have. darklord 10 09 Jul

Jun 26 PTR 2.6.5. Cross. Hi all. I would like to know from those crosses who ran on the PTR, how are things at the cross, taking into account the fact that they buffed the shield and flail under Captain America for the LON assembly? Anything else new to say? Anna 9 Jun 26

Jun 12 Discussion of crusader builds and equipment. Actually a subject. The first topic for the section, and although it is still too early to discuss, you need to start the section with something. Evilet 3738 Jun 12

08 Jun Passive "Good deed" Hi all! The description of the passive https://eu.diablo3.com/en/class/crusader/passive/holy-cause states that the crusader will regenerate up to 1% of his total health each time he deals damage. If I understand correctly, this is not the same as recovering HP from a hit. I decided to play through the "Sacred Shield" with the "Cleaving Shield" rune. With all legendaries, the shield after the first hit on the enemy is divided into 3 pieces, each of which ricochets another 6 times. Those. almost 20 hits on various targets in one throw (which, by the way, is free and the spell is spammed non-stop). However, in this situation, the level of red liquid in the round on the left side of the panel is in no hurry to creep up. :(The damage type of the ability is light. The damage type of the rune is light. I even cast the damage type light on the flail. Does anyone have any information on this? How does this passive actually work? Hatchet 0 08 Jun

04 Jun Invoker in spikes (bugs or fixes)? I want to sum up and put an end to it. Crawling on the Internet, forums, old topics, videos from YouTube, I concluded that the elemental physics is from the gear (not the ss ring), damage to the area and the crucible does not work or ... ??? And so, Invoker in spikes, maples even studied this topic from a to z, with the release of patches, there were no comments from blizzards, so that there were fixes, certain corrections ... 10 Apr Divine Power Deciding to try out the crusader and seeing the Divine Might passive, I wondered if the 20% damage nerf kills the damage advantage that two-handed weapons usually give over one-handed weapons, given the difference in attack speed? Suneku 1 10 Apr

10 Apr Are one shots the norm? This is a question for you, friends. I’ve been playing on a non-seasonal Persian for 80 hours, and during this time I’ve already been playing on torture 13. It would seem that the catch is, the problem is that I’m on the 13th torture, that on the great portal of level 70 all the mobs one-shot and don’t carry me at all . All because of this summoner set. It's normal that I can't wear any other set, or take other abilities, otherwise the mobs don't rush at all, in this build everyone one-shots. I thought maybe the problem is in me, I tried to change clothes, but there is no such damage with any other set. Am I just not using the potential of other sets and legendaries correctly, or have I broken the game, and in such an imba set I go and poke one-shot portal bosses in 2 seconds, and other characters / classes are different? Or if you play on a seasonal Persian, not all sets and not all legendaries are available there, but only certain ones? I just can’t understand, was it intended, or did I break the system? 25 Mar Who canonically play and who is it? END OF HER CRUSADE I clicked on the link (Crusader: learn the hero's story) in the description of the crusader (https://eu.diablo3.com/en/class/crusader/) - this story gave rise to several questions: 1) Is the hero's story canon? 2) If this is canon, then it turns out that for the sake of the canon you need to play a woman? 3) The story ends with Lilsa (the daughter of Reiter - the owner of the Oasis tavern) agrees with Anaji's proposal to become a crusader, they go together to fallen star- this all means that we manage in diablo lll Lilsay, who took the name of Anaji after her death on the way to Tristram (by the way, in one of the first tasks you can read how our crusader says that you need to find a student, this means someone one of them died) And it is possible that Lilsa died! Please help me figure it out)) THANK YOU in advance for the answer;) STRATEGIST 2 25 Mar

16 Mar How to kill a malthael with a solo cross on a master? I'm dying for the 4th time. The cross is not so hot, but it removes half of the health from it, then I die from its fire all the time. Che do tell me, can I change the build? What is the best way to soak it? zaknaifen 16 16 Mar

Feb 21 I COLLECT THE TOP BUILD FOR THE CRUSADER Hello people! I've been playing Diablo for a relatively short time, no more than 100 hours. I decided to rock the crusader on the 16th season and brought out an interesting build .. 30 hours of play = easy farm 60ur. portal. I'm going through the adventure on Torture Xlll. It's most convenient to lay down a bunch of mobs. Bosses also lay down quickly, since the main perk (wide swing), and the set increases attack speed - the restoration of anger allows you to hit every 5 hit with the "Wide swing" perk, taking into account 13,000%. (Almost eternal anger at the crusader) Portal level 60 video breakdown: https://vk.com/video23700483_456239476 (uploaded to VK, because it's faster) Here is the assembly (the stat has not been updated - at the time of publication, the damage is 1.1 million): https: //eu.diablo3.com/ru/profile/Ympuuuu-2802/hero/117406418 there are shoals, they are quickly demolished (perks help to stay longer + vampirism). I solve this problem at the moment - by pumping strength and armor. I'd love to hear your opinion) Ympuuuu 3 Feb 21

Feb 12 Howll's Insight Builds Hi all! I didn't find any up-to-date information on builds from https://eu.diablo3.com/ru/item/blessed-of-haull-P2_Unique_Belt_05 It seems to be an interesting mechanic that allows you to stay away from the battle, which will greatly increase survivability, you can use rings for 50+ 50% damage from alternation of abilities, you can cuirass akila. Does it make sense to collect or is it not relevant now? Unfortunately, there is not enough time to study the issue yourself. Does anyone have experience using it? raskalbass 1 Feb 12

Feb 12 pet breeding Hello crusaders.?page=1 or a video with examples of T6 gameplay in different variations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvNeFuqi5zc and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRU72L1gDbw You, I see, pet breeding is more common. I'm thinking about creating such a crusader. I want to ask your opinion on how strong he is (the goal is a high-speed farm T6), I really want to see a video with a gameplay demonstration and your expert opinion, which is better - a barbarian pet breeder (see video above) or a crusader. Feb 10 LON Rebuke + Fire 100% + Scourge dachshunds I tried to assemble a LN build on a cross on fire + censure (in the cube of Jan's pants + unity ring) in all that is possible things I played CD and as a result I got a figure of 66.06% and with this figure the accana still recharges for about 10 seconds. those. lack of a full rollback. without akkan we will die. so took the unity in the cube and on the satellite. you can also take "zodiac" instead of unity, but there will not be much increase and the remaining time of Akkan's CD will decrease to 6-7 seconds, the result turned out to be this - 9.3kk damage from fire. if instead of unity you throw in SS - elemental damage is a little more than 10.5kk https://i.imgur.com/ZN7hmfm.jpg then he took such a sword in his hands - Scourge and it is indicated there that damage from fire is 1800-2000% with a chance of 45 %. this skill works almost every hit, but there is no significant damage on the screen. https://i.imgur.com/k40eNcq.jpg who is friends with math? where is the damage? if I take the Crucible Primordial instead of this sword, the damage to mobs remains at the same level: (I threw the current profile into the d3planner https://www.d3planner.com/458543909 ps maybe the Scourge has a radius of 5 meters there and therefore I I don't see a significant difference? 09 Feb Question to the connoisseurs: "Faithful memory" Guys, hello everyone. I'm nup, I've been playing D3 for about 3 weeks. For some reason, everyone scolds the two-handed "Faithful memory" in the assembly of light. I, like, run with him, "Joanna's Argument" put through the cube. Stats: 1790-2234 light damage 1457 strength 1452 survivability - 10% anger cost + 265 strength (from upgrade) 2.6% chance to slow down drilled a hole for an emerald (+130% crit) Why is it not good? I feel comfortable with him. Through it, the "Consecrated Hammer" is very kosher with the "Falling Sword", if you adapt. Tried the ancient "Joanna's Argument" with the "Crucible" through the cube. Yes, RB is easier to kill, but RB still needs to get to the VP)))) P.S. How to shift clothes on this forum? rds 3 09 Feb

Jan 26 Akkan's set through the Reprimand issue. I had such a question: does the damage of the hero affect the damage of the condemnation? Why did I ask such a question, it's simple, I rolled the primordial amulet and there I had to choose either to set 100% to critical damage, or damage from light power by 20%, can anyone tell me which is better? Jan 23 Cross in season 16 and patch 2.6.4. Cross. Season 16 and patch 2.6.4. Hi all. I would like to know from those who run for this class on the PTR last news. Please tell me what and how))) Anna 36 Jan 23

Jan 22 Akkan Armor Dungeon I don't usually have questions about the mechanics of the game, but here I am confused. Requires 12 hits of at least a dozen opponents with Condemnation. It would seem that it is easier? They themselves run up, we beat - at least 14-19 we hook. But the problem is different. Let's say I hit a bunch of enemies with Condemn, hitting 14 of them. Most are alive. I again wait for them to surround me, hit (should hit at least 11-13), but the game says that I only hit two! How is this possible? As a result, each group can only be hit once, because no matter how many enemies survive, a second hit will only hit a couple of enemies, regardless of how many there are around. The rest take damage, but do not count towards the counter. Okay, then each group only needs to be hit once, in which case twelve groups of enemies are required. There are not so many in the area! Obviously the game wants me to re-hit the same group, but it doesn't count the hit. As a result, the dungeon is impassable. Therefore, the question arises about the mechanics of calculating the damage from Condemnation. In which case does the game not consider an enemy to take damage when they take damage? 24 Dec 2018 kdr gays, I do not understand how the kdr works. I know that the mechanics are diminishing. I saw a cross, he does not have a CDR on 1 ring, while he has a CDR on a shield of 8% and on gloves of 7%, weapons of 10%, 1 ring of 8% and a crown and he has 66% of CDR, but I have 58% with than I have both rings by 8%, shoulders by 8% (he has too), gloves by 5%, a shield by 7% and a cannon by 10% why does he have more quadra than me? 04 Dec 2018 Apprentice Crusader Good afternoon everyone. I played d3 from the euro release for 3 weeks forty. A couple of years ago I bought the RoS add-on and decided to download the forty and run a little with it. Fulfilled errands, drained the bloody fragments of Kadale, even closed several great solo portals. But after a month of playing, I got bored and forgot. Now I'm back, I decided to create a seasonal hero. The choice fell on the crusader. First impressions - cool, fighting vehicle, goes into the crowd and smashes everyone to pieces. After a dead magpie, play high. Most of the campaign was played on Master difficulty. There were no problems. But in the 5th act, a complete pipets began. On the Master, he even died once on the pack on the way to Pandemonia. I beat mobs for a very long time. After that, I had to downgrade to Expert. Long and painfully he picked Adria and Malthael. In the profile, there is now a chimtob speck under the maltael - he was pounding with a blow of the shield. And the whole company went as a whole in such a spec as now, except for the shield strike. On RMB there was a skill like a wide range. Eats 20 Wrath. Advise on how to further develop the character. I only play solo. So far, only the one that is on me + in the chest there are low legendaries waiting for the kanai cube. So far the main problem is damage. I've been poking around for too long Pah 10 04 Dec 2018

14 Nov 2018 Fast Fan Party There is an idea for fasts by a non-meth group. From the supports of viz-sap and var or monk. From demagers: dx on daggers with a mark and a wolf and a cross. In theory, it should turn out not bad, although, of course, it cannot be compared with the official meta. I'll sign for about 3 out of 4 strongman's bracers, and this is 90% bonus damage. 1) Viz sup damage bonus (dome 15%, freeze 33%, passive Cold blooded 10%, toxin 10%, ice radiance + 10% crit, + 10% attack speed inside the dome) durability bonus + ~ 50% inside the dome . Strongmen+30%. 2) War sup (shout for 25% bonus damage, 10% lacerations), bonus to stamina from screaming + 30% to evasion, 25% mob laws. Strongmen+30%. 2.1) Monk sap (monk assembled with 2 pieces of hive for hanging palms for bonus 15% damage, attack mantra speed + 10%). Strongmen+30%. 3)Dx (wolf -15% multiplier damage increase, mark with rune infection 15% additive damage). in the theory of Retribution at dh. 4) Cross (principle of attacks speed 7-15%). Strongmen+30%. Thus, dx acts as a kind of bosskiller for solo targets, the cross sorts out heaps. Actually the question for this thread of the forum: is there a cross with free time to test it all? 09 Nov 2018 criticize pliz build - I ask for advice my build - https://eu.diablo3.com/en/profile/French-2641/hero/112641525 (note - I play for my own pleasure, without fanaticism, a beginner, I have closed 60 VP so far) I made myself such a build based on Wide Swing in Rolland's set. without a furnace. I like the mechanics of the game - a lot of very fast (after gaining attack speed) and strong blows, good survivability (under 190kk, stamina is gained under all buffs). of the minuses - the usual speed of walking, did not take a horse - took a mockery instead of him. because anger quickly ends. not all things are right - but we grind slowly. Why is such a build worse than a build with a crucible? what could be added here? Frenchman 4 09 Nov 2018

30 Sep 2018 Game mechanics. Why is it that when prospaming the Reprimand, it works much fewer times in a period of time than if I try to hit the gcd by pressing clearly. Moreover, these are some sky-high figures: when prospam, Reprimand works 20 times in 20 seconds, with a perfect squeeze on the GCD, if you never fail - 30 times in 20 seconds. The third issue of the "Weekly Theorycraft" column has been released (formerly Theorycraft Thursdays). This time we are invited to get acquainted with the build for fans of shields - the Crusader called "Commander" from Leviathan. We remind you that everyone can get into the rubric if the description of your unusual build matches the quality of Blizzard.

Official Blizzard Quote ()

One of the many factors that influenced the development of the skills of the crusaders was their history. As members of a sacred militant order, the crusaders never fight alone and rely on their comrades to fight. Today Leviathan#1356 shared with us a crusader development option that uses the abilities of its companions in every possible way and is capable of both inflicting high damage in a short time and quickly replenishing resources.

Description

Everyone knows that the best defense is an attack, and Leviathan's commander lives up to this saying like no other. "Phalanx" is cornerstone this crusader's skill set, and along with additional companions that can be summoned by appropriate items (for example, Waho's Possession and Ashira's Robes set), an entire army can be assembled under the leadership of the commander.

In addition, this development option specializes in dealing high damage in a short period of time. “The main goal is to always have multi-hit skills on hand to take out weak monsters and then quickly deal high damage to groups of special opponents before they surround you,” Leviathan writes to us. Many people think that the most important thing in heroic mode- have good protection, but it seems to me that attacking skills are equally important.

My own crusader became a general this week! In order to deal high damage efficiently and quickly, Leviathan decided to focus on replenishing resources. Therefore, his crusader uses one-handed weapons and skills with a low cooldown so that powerful attacks can be used frequently. In the end, the less often the opponents attack the crusader, the less damage will have to be absorbed.

Skills

Before we go into more detail about this character's abilities, it should be noted that Leviathan introduced this build prior to the release of Patch 2.0.5 this week. And while we didn't make any changes to Leviathan's original build, we had to prepare a few comments about how the changes in the recent update have affected the concept and how the warlord works.

Active Skills

  • Judgment (Explosion Rune)
    • The main skill that accumulates anger.
    • The skill pairs well with items like Waho's Obsession or the Ashira's Robes set, as the effects of these items will trigger quite often.
    • Thanks to the built-in stun, the skill also has the potential to control opponents.
  • Heaven's Hand (Retribution Rune)
    • The main skill that allows you to deal damage to multiple targets.
    • The main (and only) skill that consumes rage.
    • Allows the crusader to deal high damage from a distance.
    • Unlike other similar abilities, Hand of Heaven allows players to more accurately target a specific area to deal damage.
  • Steed (Destructive Gallop Rune)
    • An excellent skill that allows you to start a fight.
    • Basically, the character will use this skill to get away from danger.
  • Phalanx (Archers rune)
    • The short cooldown suits our crusader best, and goes well with Champion of Akarat.
      • Champion of Akarat no longer resets the cooldown of Phalanx (with the Archers rune), but allows it to be used multiple times in a row.
      • As a result, the crusader is able to call on more allies to help, which allows him to fight waves of monsters more effectively, leaving nothing to chance.
    • The skill is suitable for ranged combat.
    • The skill allows you to summon allies, which fits perfectly into the theme of this development option.
  • Principle of Valor (Critical Strike)
    • High attack speed allows you to replenish resources faster.
    • The increased damage on a critical hit is in line with the characteristics of this build and pairs well with Phalanx.
    • Additional attacks increase the chance of triggering various effects.
  • Champion of Akarat (Focus Rune)
    • A great way to increase your damage output and accumulate resources for powerful attacks.
    • Allows you to significantly reduce the cooldown of skills. Pairs well with skills that have a low cooldown.
      • Note: This skill was changed in update 2.0.5.
      • Champion of Akarat no longer resets skill cooldowns, but allows them to be used multiple times in a row.
      • As a result, the Crusader is able to deal high damage more consistently, allowing him to fight waves of monsters more effectively without leaving anything to chance.
    • Allows you to counter the effects of control, which is very valuable in heroic mode.

Passive Skills

Passive skills open up much more room for experimentation. As a consequence, the skills listed below are not required for this development option.

  • Righteousness
    • The additional resource regeneration allows you to regularly use Hand of Heaven while other skills are on cooldown.
  • Lord Commander
    • Significantly increases the damage dealt by Phalanx.
    • Allows you to keep the Steed ready for especially dangerous moments in battle.
  • multicolor
    • Great damage booster.
  • sharpness
    • Pairs well with the main skill, which replenishes resources, which allows you to increase the damage dealt.

Items

The commander needs a team, so he can't do without friends! The recommended items listed below will be incredibly useful and will allow you to survive in the most intense battles. On the other hand, various ways to speed up the replenishment of resources will allow you to deal more damage.

Unfortunately, the very first Leviathan commander died, but in the image above you can appreciate his equipment.

Strictly speaking, these items are not necessary, but their ability to summon allies, as well as an increase in survivability, are ideal for this development option.

  • Ashira Robes
    • A four-piece bonus from the set allows you to call on allies to help, who will take part of the damage caused by monsters.
    • The items in this set are craftable, making them easier to obtain. In addition, it will be much easier for players to pick up other items of equipment.
  • Waho's obsession
    • The Dark Reflections summoned by this item have the ability to stun enemies.

These items are suitable as an addition to the main ones, allowing you to increase their power.

  • Reaper's Wraps
    • This item is craftable, making it easier to obtain. Reaper's Wristbands are great for starting your search for the items you need.
    • Provides efficient resource replenishment for any class.
  • Ring of Royal Opulence
    • This is a fairly popular item, but our development option uses a lot of items from sets, so this ring becomes especially valuable.
  • Power of Ogild
    • A three-piece bonus will increase survivability during battles in Nephalem portals.
    • This item is great for any Heroic character.

Specific items are not so important for this development option, and their absence can be easily compensated for by increasing the characteristics below.

  • Since this development option relies on its companions and assistants, the Critical Hit Damage stat is consistent with the general concept and combines well with the Phalanx (with the Archers rune).
  • Attack speed affects not only the amount of damage per second, but also the replenishment of resources.
  • Indicators “+ X units. physical damage" or "+ X units. Lightning Damage" can also be useful, but they are not required, since the skills of the crusader are divided by type of elemental damage.
  • It's also worth paying attention to item modifiers that increase the damage of certain skills (such as Phalanx, Heaven's Hand, and Judgment).

When Leviathan introduced us to this build, he was already actively using it on Heroic difficulty on Torment III. Of course, by raising the damage and stamina to a certain level, the commander is able to fight effectively at any level of difficulty. He is best at completing errands and fighting through Nephalem portals.

The brave warlord Buffy managed to crush many opponents, but she still fell in battle.

Why we like this development option

Helper-based development options are always very interesting, and there are several reasons for this. Firstly, it is always more fun to fight in a company, and a crusader is a born commander. Of course, this powerful character is able to set the heat on the enemies without any help, but if he also leads the army, then hardly anyone will want to mess with him. Also, being able to deal a lot of damage in a short amount of time is also very attractive as it makes the game more dynamic and we really like that. Players who have just started playing in the heroic mode are not recommended to immediately rush into battle, but, on the other hand, crusaders who rely on the presented development option are able to get out of even the most difficult trouble.

Also, you won't have to bend down for items (note: the chance of getting items is not increased).

Tell us what you think of this development option!

Leviathan's warlord is a new, fresh take on an already familiar character. Usually assistants are used by sorcerers and demon hunters, but the crusaders also proved to be quite capable military leaders. In the presented version of the development, a clear theme is maintained, while it is quite suitable for the game. In general, the commander showed himself perfectly in battle, as stated.

  • natural born protector

The Crusader is able to endure enemy blows better than any other Sankutaria hero. These valiant warriors protect their allies and strike, using the power of their anger to force their opponents to cross weapons in close combat. Enemies that surround the crusader have an even harder time, because these fighters are able to heal the wounds received, block attacks and reflect the damage inflicted on them if someone still managed to break through their powerful protection.
  • Heaven's Wrath

The enemies of the crusader are ready to be punished by Heaven itself. By directing his anger, the crusader is able to destroy the evil spirits from the Underworld from afar, striking demons with lightning, betraying the purifying flame or calling for help from the weapons of Heaven.
  • Law

The crusaders are literally surrounded by an aura of valor and selflessness: they are the true embodiment of the values \u200b\u200bthat protect. As soon as they call on the power of law for help, for a while they begin to overflow with energy. In addition, the laws grant permanent benefits: they allow you to strike faster, grant protection from the forces of the elements, accelerate healing ... As long as the crusader is alive, the power of the law will accompany him.
  • implacability

Evil runs away in fear, but it is not destined to hide. The crusader makes powerful dashes towards enemies, summons powerful horses, unleashes cascades of blows on opponents, and nothing will stop him. The Warrior blinds or immobilizes enemies with ease, preventing anyone from escaping justice.

resource: anger

Crusaders win even the most hopeless battles due to their determination. The help of the divine Light and the awareness of the importance of sacred duty fill their attacks with righteous anger.

While the crusaders are preparing for battle, their anger is constantly growing, but as soon as they enter into battle with the enemy, their righteous rage literally boils. Consumed by anger, the crusader is a dangerous foe: his skin becomes invulnerable to blows, he is shrouded in hot flames and is able to tear his enemies apart with streams of bright light. And the dead crusader can come to life and rush into battle again!

Resourceful crusaders are able to maintain their own anger even without constant skirmishes with enemies. With the help of his many skills, the crusader can restore his strength if he blocks an enemy blow, receives a serious wound, or is surrounded by bloodthirsty demons.

Crusaders are staunch defenders of faith and order, real bastions in the flesh, clad in impenetrable armor and using huge shields to break through the thick of enemies, leaving behind only the scorched bodies of demons.

The crusaders bravely rush into the thick of the battle, believing that the magic of the Light and strong heavy armor will bring them victory. Experienced crusaders are able to completely repel enemy attacks, often surviving blows that bring inevitable death to less powerful fighters. If necessary, they can sacrifice speed and mobility to become a real fortress.

Heavy flails that can crush any bone and powerful shields are great for close combat, but crusaders can fight evil from a distance. If a warrior endowed with divine power enters the battle, then the enemy cannot hide from the withering flame and blinding light. The power of the crusaders is enough to crush entire armies of enemies hoping to avoid a just punishment.

Story

"Duty calls me to battle - and I cannot evade!"

Adherents of the Zakarum religion once tried to imprison Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, in the catacombs under the temple complex in Travincale in order to prevent him from again defiling the souls of people.

But they failed.

This was not the first blow to the Zakarum Church. Two centuries earlier, the priest Akhan realized how mired in sin his brothers in the faith were, and ordered his disciples to purge the ranks of the clergy. Akhan's companions, nicknamed the crusaders, were very young, distinguished by honesty and virtue, they knew how to handle weapons and wielded cleansing magic, but their most important feature was unwavering loyalty to duty.

Now the cases of the crusaders, who want to restore the former purity of the Zakarum faith, have greatly increased. Evil thrives when left unchecked, which is why Crusaders wandering Sanctuary - usually pairs of the same mentor and apprentice - often hunt demons. Some fight on principle, while others believe that another victory will hasten the day when the Zakarum Church will be cleansed. When a mentor dies, his disciple takes his weapon and name, and thus the Crusaders continue their campaign even after death.

In the western kingdom of Kehjistan, I heard rumors of Zakarum warriors, the Crusaders. Although the inhabitants of these lands were taciturn, I was able to conclude that this order was founded two hundred years ago, at the time when Rakkis led his army of paladins to the west. But these crusaders... they headed east on a completely different mission.

My records indicate that a high priest of the Zakarum named Akhan felt something eating at the heart of his faith. He knew that in the end the corruption would destroy his beloved church, and he must act. After long prayers, Akhan came up with the idea of creating an order of crusaders.

Akhan selected the most devoted, pious and warlike acolytes of the Zakarum. He taught them to channel the power of the Light in the same way that paladins, once again reborn, did. But the paladins were not granted, as these crusaders were, the primordial divine powers of the Zakarum.

When the crusaders had learned everything they could, Akhan sent them to all corners of the world in search of a way to cleanse themselves of the filth that snaked around the heart of the Zakarum faith. They did not have a clear goal, and some clerics declared that this was a fruitless undertaking, doomed to failure. But the determination of the crusaders was unshakable.

The crusaders swore an oath to dedicate their lives to the search. They were convinced that their crusade would not end as soon as the evil was destroyed. They believed that seeking would elevate them, that the piety of their lives and journey was the true goal. Being a crusader meant finding meaning in the search itself.

Each crusader was a warrior of rare strength. They were masters in the use of weapons and shields, they were in perfect control of their bodies and gained the power of Light. Each of them swore to live and die as a crusader. Two hundred years ago, they took on apprentices and went to the wetlands in the east, never to be heard from again. Up to this day...

There are rumors that the crusaders have returned, that they are going to go west. But who are these tall, blond warriors? They are nothing like those crusaders who left Travinkal two hundred years ago, and the current inhabitants of the ruins of this ancient city consider them impostors!

Most recently, I met a crusader who was returning from oblivion, and only then did I understand ... Every crusader takes a disciple. When a crusader dies, the apprentice takes his place in the order, takes his armor and even his name! When the first generation of crusaders perished, their own disciples took their place. And so it went on for two hundred years...

Of the four hundred and twenty-seven crusaders who disappeared in the east, three hundred and forty-one returned. Do they still seek redemption in their faith? How will they respond to the destruction of the city from where they once appeared? Will they continue to move west towards the lands of Westmarch? And what does their return portend?

Crusaders are brave warriors, able to withstand the onslaught of countless hordes of demons and the undead, and the fame of their indestructible shields goes around Sanctuary. Demons better stay away from the Vengeful Crusader, because this steel-clad warrior is not only ready to parry their blows - he will fry enemies to a crisp!

About character development

Shields, blocking and armor, like a tank, are essential attributes of a real crusader. Each of these devout champions of the faith that you meet on the battlefield has a story to tell. Without batting an eye, they will withstand any blows of the demons of the Underworld and will be able to repay the offenders in full. Heaven's punishment is inevitable!

The larger the group of opponents, the more damage they will take. More damage - more corpses!

This SilverAce99#1196 build was inspired by the concept of Damage Reflection. And so a character was born who embodied the idea of a kind of "return fire". The Vengeful Crusader is the fruit of a lot of work and is "a hero that deals fire damage return without relying on spike damage." The key to effective use of the character was the skill "Punishment" (with the "Roar" rune) and simply sky-high block probability. Enemies will regret that they chose you as their victim, because with each blow they will inflict more and more pain on themselves!

Skills

This solid build focuses on buffs (boosting both the crusader and the group) and uses less popular runes with brilliance.

Active skills:

  • Punishment (with the Roar rune)
    • The key skill of this development option.
  • Radiant Shield (with Holy Judgment Rune)
  • Steed (with Nightmare rune)
    • Allows you to quickly retreat if you smell fried.
    • Deals Fire damage and is boosted by the stats you raise.
  • Judgment (with the rune "Verdict")
    • A control skill with a short cooldown that allows you to reduce damage taken at a crucial moment.
    • Significantly increases the damage of the entire group.
  • Principle of Valor (with Critical Strike)
    • Simply increases damage dealt and works well with the Judgment skill (with the Verdict rune).
  • Sanctified Shield (with Fire Shield rune)
    • Allows you to hit enemies at a distance (which is very useful if you need to, for example, finish off a fleeing demon).
    • The rune allows you to deal area damage in close combat, which is very useful in skirmishes with large groups of opponents.
    • The only skill in the character's arsenal that consumes anger.

Passive Skills:

  • Divine Power
    • Great if you use Maximus or Blazing Cleaver.
    • When using two-handed weapons, the cost of anger is reduced, which will allow you to use Sanctified Shield more often.
  • Not one step back
    • The crusader must block as many enemy attacks as possible, so the choice of this passive skill is very logical.
  • Update
    • Constant blocking will result in constant health regeneration.
  • Reliable Shield
    • Allows you to cast Radiant Shield (with Holy Judgment) more often.
    • Gives a small bonus to the damage of Punishment and Sanctified Shield.

Alternative Skills:

  • Taunt (with Try Hit)
    • Replaces Steed (with the Nightmare rune) or Judgment (with the Verdict rune).
    • Additionally increases block chance, increasing the damage of Sanctified Shield and the chance of Punishment (with Roar) being triggered.
    • Allows you to effectively replenish the stock of rage if the crusader attacks a large group of opponents.
  • Zeal
    • Replaces Divine Might .
    • If you only use one-handed weapons, then this passive skill will definitely come in handy.

Items:

As noted earlier, this development option is not very demanding on equipment, so you will have enough space to experiment and customize it for yourself. You can adapt it to use existing items or easily find recommended ones.

The basic set of items has been assembled, and the crusader's defense is increased by the equipment he made himself.

Required items:

  • cult attribute
    • Found in Horadrim Treasures in Act II.
    • Guaranteed to provide an increase in block probability of 11%.
    • Significantly reduces blocked damage (in this regard, the most effective shield).
  • Helm of government
    • Easy to make.
  • Light of Justice
    • One of the few items that increase block chance.
    • A common item that is not difficult to obtain.

Items for this character:

  • Magic fists
  • Ash Tunic
    • Significant increase in fire damage.
    • Reduces the cost of using the Sanctified Shield skill (with the Fire Shield rune).
  • Maximus
    • Significant increase in fire damage.
    • By taking a good position, you can deal impressive fire damage to several opponents.
  • Conquerors of the underground depths
    • The crusader deals a significant part of the damage due to the Punishment skill (with the Roar rune), which replenishes resources.
  • Ear belt
    • Reduced damage dealt by enemies in close combat allows you to operate more effectively in the thick of battle.
  • Blackthorn's Battlegear
    • The good protection of this kit makes it very useful for a melee fighter.
    • The 4-piece set bonus is perfect for tank characters.
  • Cameo of Countess Julia
    • Provides protection from monsters that have the most dangerous property for this development option.
    • Magic sentries are easy prey.

Alternative items:

  • Defender of Westmarch
    • Allows you to deal more damage than Cult Attribute .
  • Yekanborg
    • Useful if you want to deal damage equally with Sanctified Shield and Punish.
  • Akarat Awakening
    • Allows you to almost always keep the most necessary skills at the ready.
  • Last Witness
    • If you are a support character, then this shield will allow you to deal damage more opponents with Radiant Shield.
  • Curse of the Captives
    • The skill "Rebuke" and "Shining Shield" will allow you to regularly use the increase in damage from this gem.
  • The power of simplicity
    • Punishment is one of the primary damage skills, and this gem pairs well with Underworld Conquerors.
  • Taeguk
    • Increases the hero's survivability when upgraded to level 25.
    • Since this development option uses one skill that replenishes resources and does not spend too much anger, then positive effect from a gem it will be very easy to maintain.

The main indicators to pay attention to:

  • Adding Block increases both Defense and Damage at the same time, as the amount of damage dealt by Sanctified Shield is based on Block Chance. In addition, the Punishment skill (with the Growl rune) triggers when blocking attacks.
  • The crusader needs to deal fire damage, and any item with the appropriate increase will come in handy.
  • It is also necessary to increase the defensive characteristics (resistance to all types of damage, survivability, + X% to health), since you will often be attacked: this is the whole point of the presented development option. You will not have a chance to pay back the enemy with his own coin if you die from the first blows.

SilverAce is experimenting with this development option on Torment III and IV difficulty levels. It is great for completing quests and completing entry-level Nephalem and Greater Rifts. I used this build on Torment VI easily and I would definitely like to use it regularly as soon as I get a couple more necessary items. I'm wondering what the limit of the "Vengeful Crusader" is.

This development option implies a very risky playstyle, so I would not advise immediately using it in heroic mode. If you are confident in your abilities, then, perhaps, a very interesting (and full of adrenaline!) Game awaits you.

What we liked about this development

"Vengeful Crusader" is a breath of fresh air. This development option embodies the essence of the true protector of the Zakarum faith, returning unpopular skills and items to the system and using them effectively. It is unlikely that you will be able to reach the top lines of the rating table, but you will be able to enjoy exciting battles to the full, each time rushing into the thick of the battle. In the end, this development option allows you to achieve good results. Be sure to increase your block chance and you'll turn your opponents to ashes!

Hello, garage! Stop beating yourself up!

To come out victorious from such a battle, where life, it would seem, hangs in the balance, is simply amazing. Previously, when I played melee heroes, I never wanted to be surrounded by monsters with the Flame Chains property. But now I have the Punishment skill (with the Roar rune), and nothing prevents me from wreaking havoc on the battlefield! This is exactly what I wanted!

What do you think of it?

And what qualities does your champion of Akarat embody? Do you fight monsters hand-to-hand, or do you prefer to unleash the wrath of Heaven on them from the other side of the map? Have you yourself used development options that rely on damage blocking? Tell us about it at
